I am coming in a bit late with this post, but that is kind of par for the course with me!
I did a few tiny white pumpkins and my Day of the Dead pillow covers from Amazon. I also bought the pillow inserts. I take my cushions and pillows in every day because I learned the hard way how weathered everything gets.

I went with giant purple and yellow mums to fit the color scheme and do you see the Halloween and pumpkin tiny stakes in the mums? I had those from a long time ago.

My dining room is also Day of the Dead themed.

As the years go on I like more and more of a simple and clean look. My mantel has some burlap, tiny white pumpkins, and a leaf banner.

Last year I decided to frame some favorite fall photos.

I honestly don’t have a lot of surfaces to decorate. I keep it to the patio, dining room, and living room. I also have my favorite fall melamine plates from Target.
I will add some Thanksgiving touches after Halloween because I keep acquiring more Thanksgiving stuff and I think it has been more readily available in recent years.
How much do you decorate?
Amy
This year, so far, I have very little up and I am almost tempted to keep it that way. But, I am waiting for my husband to get my boxes down and then I’ll see what happens. I enjoy putting it out, even if it’s just Brian and I here. Decorating your patio is such a good idea!

Some years I’m more motivated than others! I have learned to purge any decor that I don’t love. It’s for me mostly so it doesn’t matter if that many people see it. Have a great day!

Thank you! I planned to do more but you know how that goes…
I also haven’t done up the lower patio yet!

Your looks so nice! And how fancy that you have an upper and a lower patio…!
Swedes don’t do fall decorations… (but we go all in for Christmas!). You can see a pumpkin here and there, but it’s quite half-hearted…

Thank you! That is interesting! Fall is not your thing! I bet you don’t grow as many pumpkins as we do either. But, remember that we make everything super commercial here – an opportunity to make more $!

I love your touches of fall/Halloween! I put out fall decor, but haven’t done Halloween in a couple of years, even though I love it, too. Your porch looks like the perfect spot to relax with a drink and your mums are just gorgeous! 😍 I really love your mantle decor, too! Since we downsized 2 years ago, I use less decor, but make sure I love what I do use, if that makes sense. 🙄

Thank you Michelle! I really love my outdoor space and don’t take it for granted! That does make sense and so smart if you downsize!

For the past few years I’ve become a minimalist with less is more attitude, lol. I have a large ceramic pumpkin in my foyer and a tiny one on my dining table. A real one outside the front door and that’s pretty much it. Easy to get out and easy to put away. I do enjoy looking at other people decor.

Same! It just makes sense to have less and have everything be what you love!

I love the Day of the Dead theme! Our local grocery store had a whole section of DoD decor this year – so fun!

Thank you! I bet I would go hog wild in Texas with all of the Day of the Dead decor!
