I did pretty well with my January goals. I try to make these the fun goals in my life. I do have serious goals, as well, but these are about being intentional, seeking out fun, and making the most of my leisure time – for the most part.
I’ve also found that having them written down where I can see them helps. I can add or subtract as the month goes on. This doesn’t need to be a super militant exercise!

A couple of things I couldn’t do because they hadn’t happened yet, but overall I think I did well.

Continue to work on sleep and skin care
Buy fresh flowers weekly
Get a pedicure
Start self-tanning
Find new recipes/simplify meals
Re-read a Fiona Ferris book
Become someone who wears scarves – he, he – I just bought a gorgeous scarf!

Watch Olympics opening ceremony and do some kind of themed meal Friday, February 6
Make a fancy-ish V Day meal at home on Saturday, February 14
Go to a Galentine’s event
Make a Mardi Gras meal on Tuesday, February 17. I’m going to try gumbo and hush puppies
Take one of the library cooking classes with the February chef
Take V Day decor down February 15 and put up St. Pat’s Day
Plan a couple of happy hours with friends and compile a list of my fave winter hh places and deals they have and then go to those places
Coffee shop alone at least once
Movie alone
Lunch out alone
Plan a game night
Declutter like a beast
I know I will add more but that’s a good start!

This is such a good practice, I am committed to fresh flowers each week. My mom stopped by last week and asked who gave me flowers. I said, ME! She thought that was a great idea and said she might do it too.
Little things bring joy on the daily!

I will re-stock on some flowers soon. I love that practice of having fresh flowers. I also am working on using up products first. It helped during the snow days to organize my makeup/cleansing products to see what I have in stock. You do such a great job of de-cluttering! I love that all of these goals are practical! And side note, I love seeing scarves are making a comeback!

Don’t overlook the regular grocery where I found $1.75 tulips! I’m going to look there today. Me too – I make myself use up makeup things because I have a bad habit of wanting to try new products.
Thank you! I have been seeing the cutest scarves in all sizes but the silk kind, you know?

That scarf is really pretty! I’m asking this out of genuine curiosity and not to belittle or demean your goals- why do you want to eat lunch out alone and go to a movie alone? I can see eating lunch out alone if you’re traveling for work or something. And I eat almost every lunch during the week alone- it’s just that I’m at home. I, personally, would not want to leave the house alone to eat lunch alone and same with seeing a movie alone. And so, I am curious as to what is appealing about it for you? Is it to do something outside of your comfort zone? Or is it something you just kinda enjoy doing? I enjoyed reading your list! Monthly goals are not something that I write but I like reading other people’s lists :).

I think because it’s about not waiting on someone to be available and it feels empowering. I never had to travel for work and do that. I had two sisters and always had companions. Seeing a movie alone is something I’ve never done.
Maybe I won’t want to do it again.
It’s just a ‘cuz I can” thing maybe?
Not offended at all!

I started with a goals list last month and it really does work writing them down. It looks like a good list, good luck! That scarf is beautiful, I would love to wear them but never do.

Doesn’t it? Glad it worked for you. This scarf is pretty big but there are tons of tutorials on how to tie.

I always look at fresh flowers at the store with longing, and occasionally pick up a bouquet. Then I remember I have a cat…

Haha – do they like flowers? Most groceries have a clearance section if you have a high place but I guess cats can get up pretty high.

This is a great list! Whenever I see people wearing scarves, I think it looks so cute and is a lovely touch to an outfit. Not sure if it chic enough to pull it off.

You did great on your January goals! I like your list for this month, especially the buying fresh flowers, getting a pedicure, and hosting a game night. I played cards a lot last week when we were snowed in! It was fun and made me wonder why I don’t do that more often. I hope to double date with my friend Kendra and her guy again, and maybe even do a lunch out with Chris, my best friend Missy and her husband Jeff one Sunday soon. I love being with other couples!
Back to you…I can’t wait to hear the color you pick for your pedicure! I’ve been doing mine at home lately, so I redid them yesterday since I was off. I love that scarf! I anticipate seeing it in this week’s fashion files. Happy Tuesday!

Hi Amy!
Declutter like a beast! Ha! So cute!
I love the alone stuff! I’m still doing that pretty much weekly. I do wish I had friends for happy hour. It’s so hard finding friends when you’re older.
Have a great day!

You inspire me, Amy! I took a screenshot of your goals to remind me to be intentional with my own! And, I’m updating my library card. I need to use it more often than purchasing books that sit on my kindle. Once in awhile that works best (for traveling or road trips) but I do love the feel of a real book in my hands!
