Here I am coming at you later than normal because I got home late last night! I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday, of course!

Friday I felt pretty bad – allergies – and had to wear black for our work day competitions. Ok – done!

We got to leave an hour early so I was home at 2:30 with a hot tea on the patio.

I felt so much better Saturday and loved the summer book display at my library.

I made a batch of pink meringues!

And, I abandoned my The Littlest Library to start this…

We went to dinner Saturday night – boys vs. girls…

And, yesterday was my twin nephew and niece’s graduation party two hours away.

My sister thought of all the details…

a candy bar – with cookies, too…

taco bar…

the cousins that could make it…

a Polaroid picture and message book…

a game…

This is the idea I gave her – to use Chat GPT to make coloring pages…

My sisters and I with Aunt Judy…

My sisters and I with my mom’s best friend Maria…

Mia and I – I got one with Miles, too, but I think it’s on my sister’s camera…

It was so nice! I can’t believe they have graduated!

I am off to my last work day today!

Amy

  1. Looks like a great grad party- lots of attention to detail! You’re last day- that’s got to feel surreal. I hope it goes well :).

  3. I love the pictures of you and your sisters with your aunt and your mom’s best friend. It was nice of her to come to the party! Happy last day of work!! The all black outfit from last week and the competition part of that day made me chuckle. I know you’ve over it!

  4. This is unrelated to your post but feel as though you can relate….My eldest son graduated Thursday. My mom sent me a text and asked what time we would be at graduation. I said around 6:30ish. We arrived and saw her car. I could not find her anywhere. At one point I asked the school secretary if she had seen her. She believe she did and radioed to the janitor. The janitor located her in the auditorium all by herself. Graduation was outside. She has not spoken to me since. We were going to get photos after the graduation. Next thing I knew she left. I feel as though, it doesn’t matter what I say or do it is never correct.

    1. Oh Jen…
I’m so sorry. I hope you don’t mind me saying this but I feel like she made it about her and stole your joy. Now that will cloud you. One would think that one could ask around when no one else is in there! Or go back and read the text!

      1. I was thinking something similar……this was her third grandchild graduating. Why is she acting this way or why didn’t she have a lightbulb moment and ask someone? Yes, to the cloud hanging overhead. It is constant. I totally understand how you felt with your mom’s estate. Thank you for your support

      2. I would say to try to use the “let them” theory on her. If she wants to act like a toddler and leave you all without saying goodbye, let her. My relationship with my mom was very difficult and I felt like I never did anything right. If I brought extra food I was in trouble. It wasn’t assigned to me. I never said the right thing, wore the right thing, wrote the right thing on my blog. If I did get complimented it was always with a , “but this would have been better”. It’s hard to understand if you haven’t lived like this so your friends and hub may not understand.

  5. Wait, what? Competition on the almost last day of school. I’m sure that confirms your thought to retire was the right one lol. That graduation party looks like fun and the taco bar looks great. Congrats to the grads and their parents too! Hurrah! It’s officially the finish line!

    1. Yeah – you can’t make this stuff up. It did! So many recent admin decisions and policies solidified it for me. Molly did a great job with the party. Thank you!
