It’s Thursday and I am linking up with Kellyann and Jill. You haven’t seen me since Monday and that’s because I am giving myself grace for the rest of May unless I get inspired or see a link up I want to join. I’m sure that will end up happening, but I don’t feel any pressure.

I will be here for Friday Favorites, Hello Monday, and Fashion Files. Ladies, how can you give yourself grace during the month of May? Another thing I have committed to is easy dinners where it is more heating up things than cooking! We’ve had spaghetti, fish sticks, and already cooked chicken from Trader Joe’s. My goal at the end of every school year is to not arrive there totally depleted! This never happens, but one can have that goal.

Here is what I wore out last Wednesday late afternoon to the steamboat race party (part of the Derby festivities). These are really old Target denim-like drawstring shorts, my J.Crew Factory blouse, my J.Crew consignment cardigan, and then I did switch sandals to a bit higher pair and I regretted it.

A school outfit…I wanted to wear all my jockey earrings and just found pieces to match each pair of earrings!

I forgot to get a photo, but the next day I wore the same black pants, another white shirt, and another pair of earrings that were silver and black.

Sunday for Cinco de mayo I wore my most Mexican looking kimono with black cut offs and a black v neck.

I repeated that for school Monday but with a swing dress:

And, I knew I wanted to wear long skirts this week because I haven’t had a spray tan – lol.

Tuesday I wore this:

It’s my ON cafe scene tee with a long consignment crinkly skirt, a consignment cardigan, and my Crocs Brooklyn sandals which were comfy enough for a whole day of teaching.

What have you been wearing lately?

Amy

  1. Three posts per week are fine Amy! I will enjoy them all!

I love the look with the denim shorts, that’s my kind of colors, really nice!

Yesterday we had snowy rain over here, so… But warm weather is coming back now, and I plan to get sun on my legs every day now!

    1. Thank you! I missed blogging and having comments each day but this is the time that I need to give myself grace. Thank you! I love pink and green, too.
Oh no! We had rain and it cooled off our temps. Yes!

  2. I 100% wear a long skirt or pants when my faux tan has worn off, such a lifesaver! Your derby earrings are such statement makers, I bet your students love them too.

My favorite outfit is that one with denim shorts, JCF top, JC cardi! Thanks for linking up with us!

    1. Ha! Also, I wanted to wear my long skirts this week. I am continuing to have plenty of new outfits (not repeats) as the year winds down. 11 more outfits to come up with! I really like my earrings. They do! The kids really notice what you wear as you know.
I can’t believe how much J.Crew and JCF I have for summer these last couple of years. Am I preppier in the summer? Maybe?

    1. Thank you! I froze my membership for May since it’s so busy and hard to get there but I feel like it will make me happy to unfreeze. Lol. I’ve gotten lazy with doing my own self tanner and it is such a better result at STC.

  3. I love your outfits! That long skirt and t-shirt combo is so cute. I’ve been reaching for some of my favorites lately, but with a few new things thrown into my wardrobe. I think I’m going to wear a dress and kimono today, because it will be very hot and humid after all the rain we had this morning at four a.m.

Thanks for always inspiring us here, my friend. And for clarifying where you’ll be in case I didn’t remember! 🤣

  5. I am loving those 2 first outfits! Those jeans are so cute! I am shopping my closet and loving it: I think it’s 2 weeks so far with no shopping. Giving myself grace by choosing what I am doing everyday. I am skipping a visit to my parents today, I might go tomorrow but it is raining and I need to prep dinner for kids because of a banquet tonight. I cannot do it all!

  6. Love the pink and green outfit, pink is a great color for you! I’ve been using a self tanner on my legs and now they are getting enough sun when I walk in the morning.
Definitely be easy on yourself for these last weeks of school, the end is in sight!

  7. You have some really cute outfits! I (sadly) am wearing jeans and a thick sweatshirt today. I did get to wear some summery feeling clothes on Tuesday when it was real sunny and warm.

  8. You know…I never thought to give myself grace in those last weeks of school. What a wise woman you are! And, with your sons’ graduation and a new puppy…lots to deal with! I think you always look so good…you have the best legs!!! I love that outfit for Cinco de Mayo! I wore my ON cafe scene tee to the dermatologist today…lucky me…biopsy taken and MOHS probably on the books soon. But, she did say I had good skin! So, that’s a win!

Have a wonderful weekend, Amy! See you whenever you post!
