Ok, let’s link up with Holly and Sarah to hear about the weekend and then at the end, let’s link up with Tanya to see what I bought on Amazon during the month of July.

I set up my room on Wednesday so I could have Thursday and Friday pretty wide open. I did have an early morning vet appointment for Ernie on Friday, but nothing else.

I took myself shopping on Thursday to one of my favorite shopping centers:

I wanted to see a former student who works at Francesca’s and look for some more teacher shoes.

I bought two pairs of Eurosoft brand:

At Francesca’s this coin purse made me laugh:

And, I got some earrings:

I also used my coupons to get more of this:

New fave scent!

My bestie Heather gave me this gift for school:

I ordered Reeboks!

Ernie at the vet:

He just had his vaccinations. The vet was happy with his weight and how he is doing.

Ernie in the back of my car after the vet:

Mason and I both realized we love crumpets! We had one after the vet. Mason helped me out with Ernie at the vet again.

Vet and errand ‘fit:

Beth told us about this cool vase on her blog. I ordered it and filled it with inexpensive flowers from Kroger!

Peep some fun plants for my classroom in the back:

Tom has been feeling under the weather this week and came home Friday and I had some apps for for him. He wanted Totino’s frozen pizza and I ordered Domino’s for the rest of us.

I watched/fell asleep during Happiness for Beginners on Netflix – I will go back and try it again!

Saturday morning iced protein coffee and reading on the porch:

I did some “back to school” shopping.

I got some day old bread at Jimmy John’s. It’s 49 cents but they never let me pay. I cut it and put it in the freezer but made sandwiches for my people for Saturday lunch.

Ernie got a bath!

We picked up mail and packages for a friend who is out of town and her cat was so friendly.

So, I finished this and it was so good!

Then, I started this:

Frothy coffee!

The rest of Sunday was lazy until we went to Jack’s opera The Tales of Hoffman and I will tell you more on Friday! I do plan to post at least 4 times this week, but bear with me on responding to comments as I am a full time employee as you are reading this. Today and tomorrow are teacher days and we start with the kids on Wednesday.

And, now for some Amazon talk…

First off, I needed new hair bands. I really like these, but they could be a little stretchier to fit better on my wrist and to not make my pony so tight.

Next up, I am on my second bottle of this pillow spray. The bottle lasts a long time. I still think my Goli Ashwagandha is the MVP, but I like this, too. I have accidentally sprayed Tom in the eye and it made me giggle.

I needed new chargers again because – two words – college.kids. What the heck do they do to them? I keep the same charger for a long, long time.

Ernie loves his treats!

I needed new Pyrex lids!

I do like these eye shadow pencils but one broke right away – they are kind of soft or else I have super hard eye lids.

And, you all have seen my Barbie t-shirt. I am pleased with the quality of the fabric for $13!

I am obsessed with Pavoi jewelry and these are my new faves for everyday wear! Love them!

I got me some witch hazel and I am loving it!

I heard this is the best smelling sunscreen and it came with a car freshener in the same scent. Not the best. The best is Coppertone. The car freshener was so strong I decided to hide it in my console until it fades a bit.

I don’t know if Flamingo is the best razor, but I am loving it!

What have you purchased lately?

Amy

  1. Back to school shopping! Ha ha! I need that too!
You actually inspired me with your school prepping, (well, you always inspire me), great spirit to make it fun with some flower pots and new shoes! I don’t have my own classroom, but I’m like responsible for the one where my mentor class spends most of their time. I’ll boy flowers!
So glad to hear that Ernie is doing fine! Give him a pet from me!
Hang in there on those teacher days! Remember I have a full week of teacher blah days!

  3. I’m so glad Ernie got a great report! He doesn’t look too happy about his bath, though. Is he still mad at y’all? 🤣 I love both pairs of Euro Soft shoes! I’ll have to get some shoes for fall soon, ones that are cute, comfy, and supportive. I “worked” yesterday to start learning how to do my new job! I haven’t talked to Sam who does the hiring yet, but I should do that sometime this week. In the meantime, I loved it, as I knew I would! It was fun and busy, and the time flew by. I’m going to share about it more this week on my blog and what the responsibilities and my vision are for the store. I can’t wait to talk to Sam! I went to bed dreaming of it last night.

I’ll have to read that CoHo book…you know I love her stuff. I just finished Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan. You should read that one, it was SO GOOD. I’ll be thinking of and praying for you today, and my other teacher friends who have students returning this week. I hope the days go by quickly for you so that you can get to Wednesday when you see your students. 💜

    1. Thank you! He doesn’t like baths at all but he loves swimming. It’s very odd. I wore the gold ones last night and loved them. I am debating if the sandals are too small but I think a size up would be too big. Can you believe I went down to 7.5? I haven’t had a 7.5 in years, but I also have just kept assuming that all shoes fit the same and they don’t.
Yay! I can’t wait to hear about this adventure. Tell us everything!
Her books are just so captivating. I think you would like this one. I am on the list for that book, too, and can’t wait. I do read a lot in the fall as the weather cools off and I can be outside in my chair! I’m telling you I really want you to get that chair. I will be bugging you because you will be like “where has this chair been all my life?”

Thank you again. Yesterday was a bit rough mentally and I was questioning my decision to keep on trucking. Tom says I need to hold out 3 more years but he isn’t a teacher and it’s really not up to him.

  4. There’s no better fashion jewelry than Pavoi – I swear it is so well made. Into the Night is my favorite, I always stock up and hope they never retire it.
Love the outfit you wore to the vet – your hair looks so cute like that!
Have a good day back at school!

  5. I just got two pairs of earrings at Francesca’s last week as well. They had all the earrings for seven dollars. Can you believe I’ve never had Jimmy John’s? I am wishing you the best week back to school. It’s going to be a great year!

    1. That’s right and I got an extra 10% teacher discount! I can’t believe that! It’s very popular here and there is one right by my house. Thank you so much!

  6. Haha! I love your back-to-school shopping! You got some lovely things at Francesca’s and the teacher shoes you bought look comfy and stylish. We have to wear closed-in shoes all year round which is really annoying and yuck in the hot summer. I hope you have a great first week back at school Amy xx

    1. I did quite a bit for myself this year and nothing for my kids – yet. Oh wow – that is strict, but I get why. The students really don’t show toes these days. It’s weird. Thank you!

  7. Who knew you could get Pyrex replacement lids? I find that those hair ties stretch out a little and then are comfortable on my wrist. Great finds this month on Amazon – thanks for linking up. Hope you have a good week back to school!

  8. I really loved Happiness for Beginners! I haven’t read the book. OHHH, I used to get those crumpets all the time at TJ’s. I love a tablespoon of their jam or pumpkin butter (when its fall) on top (warmed up a little). SO good. Francesca’s is always a fun store! I need to smell that scent at Bath and Body Works next time.

    1. Thank you! Everything was on sale and I got an extra 10% teacher discount – plus, I knew my former student wanted me to come. She had mentioned her work hours a couple of times.
I am so into a chilled glass of white wine now! I am looking for screwtop versions because it’s just more practical for me. Thank you! Well, it was long and tedious until I got time in my classroom. I’m hoping today is better but we are freaking rotating again. I hope your presentations went well!

      1. We are rotating today too…and I’m actually rotating (yesterday I stayed put for my presentation) i bet your student was so happy to see you! I try to buy screw top too…and there are so many good options now. I finally laid eyes on my classroom yesterday…today, I need to get organized when I can.

      2. She really wants to help me haha
I hope to get things put back where they belong today (my room got new flooring, so things weren’t put back 100% correctly)…& then she is going to help me Friday.

  10. I’m going to bookmark the flamingo razor. My favorites used to come from Target but, even before I stopped shopping there, I had to order online because live so far from a store. None of the ones from the name brands come close.
