Yesterday was my baking day and I do not want to do it again so that will be my motivation not to eat too much of my spoils!
I still am making these but in red and green. They are just fun to add to any dessert platter, you know? If you still need something little – heat oven to 350 and place square pretzels on a cookie sheet, top with rolos and put in oven for 5 minutes. Pull out and gently smush your m and m. I put the m and m logo face down so I don’t see it!

I made our family’s favorite pink meringues!

They must be put in a tin like this and kept in the freezer because that is what Aunt Judy did.

I made Chex Mix:

I made white chocolate Chex Mix:

And, I made Pioneer Woman’s Devil’s Food Cake Mix cookies. They were messy to deal with but PW has never let me down. These are delish! Take a DF cake mix, add 1 teaspoon of baking powder and whisk, then add 2 eggs, 2 teaspooons vanilla, and 1/3 cup of veg oil. Mix together and it will be super thick. Put in fridge for 30 minutes then roll in balls and roll in sprinkles. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

I think everyone will really like this new addition!
On Christmas Eve, it is just the four of us. We will go to church at 5:00, and then eat salmon, broccoli, and potatoes I think. Then we will open the family game we always get – this year is it Azul – and the boys will open their pj pants. It’s just pants now.
Christmas morning:
egg casserole and monkey bread
Christmas afternoon:
Tom’s parents and sister’s family are coming over around 2:00. We are having:
sweets platter
restaurant chips and queso
deviled eggs
Red Velvet cake
ham and turkey with hawaiian buns or biscuits
cheese and pickle platter
Tik Tok pasta – feta, grape tomatoes, olive oil
chipped beef dip
beef roll ups
Yup, it’s super weird, but I had to make a decision.
The Day After Christmas:
We go to my mom’s house and I am bringing:
(Plus there will be tons of stuff my mom and sisters are making)
little smokies
buffalo chicken dip and celery
bacon chutney dip
Mexican layer dip
We like our dips, you know?
I want to leave you with a recipe:
Chipped Beef Dip (another Aunt Judy recipe):
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons Miracle Whip
8 oz. cream cheese (one block)
a spash of Worchestshire
2 little packages of beef in the lunch meat section (the really cheap and thin kind) cut up really small
Mix all together and serve on Ritz crackers. I like to buy the snowflake shaped ones!
I will be back for Friday Favorites tomorrow!
Amy
All your desserts sound so yummy! We’re making a trifle cake (starting with the cake and chocolate pieces today and assembling it tomorrow). Then Alec will make a cinnamon roll snowflake thing he saw in a magazine for Christmas breakfast and that’s all the baking I’m doing this year. I’m hoping that will mean less eating for me but I doubt it! Enjoy your Christmas with your family.

Thank you! I can’t think of trifle without thinking of the Friends episode. You should look that up for your baker son, especially! That sounds amazing for breakfast! I think I’m doing the cinnamon roll monkey bread again because it was so good! Merry Christmas!

Those PW cookies sound good! All of your celebrations sound like fun. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, I still have not done a card yet this year. I’m thinking I’ll send New Year’s cards!

I really like them and they were easy, but messy to roll into balls. Maybe I did something wrong or I didn’t let them get cold enough. No cards for me this year. It is nice to let something go, but I will probably come around to doing it again sometime.

So many yummy treats and dips. We love dips too 🤣 I love chipped beef dip. (Or cheese ball with chipper beef) We baked on Tuesday & I baked one type of cookie with each kid. Made things less hectic 🤣 We are having salmon, bob evans potatoes and green beans for our Christmas Eve dinner. Hadley always requests salmon. I hope you have the best holiday!

Thank you! Chipped beef is so good! That is a good idea! Jack doesn’t like salmon, but Mason loves it. Merry Christmas!

There will be just 4 of us here so we are going out to dinner on Christmas Eves (I’ve never done this before) and on Christmas we are having salmon, asparagus, roasted potatoes and a salad with apples and pecans. I don’t want to spend the day cooking so that’s what we decided! Tomorrow I have to bake my husband’s favorite coffee cake for Christmas morning and we’ll have an egg casserole that I’ll prep what I can tomorrow too. Mimosas will also make an appearance. 😉 Merry Christmas!

Cmas Eve lunch with my mom, sisters and Taylor. Chicken noodle soup (me) and chili (my sister Amy) My mom and Tracy will do cheese & crackers and dessert. Cmas Eve night going to friends for homemade skinny dough pizza’s, dips, wine! and games. Cant wait for that one. Cmas Day its just us 3 and I am making trader Joe cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, fruit and bacon. Cmas Eve lunch before a movie is my lasagna, Cesar salad and garlic bread. I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your families. I will let you know how ours turned out. HA! Spoiler Alert: I am already dreading my mom’s Cmas Eve. As much as I disliked Covid last year, the holidays were sure magical not having to deal with families. (god bless all of you who get along with your families….I am very jealous) I pray that Taylor meets someone who is family oriented and she can enjoy the holidays with his family and then her dad and I. Its so not fun being from an awkward family. Both sides! Merry Christmas Amy!

That sounds nice and simple! I love that you have a friends plan, too, because friends are family! I know how hard it is to deal with families and the dynamics. I will say a prayer that it is better than you anticipate. Just remember that what you see on social media is not the reality! More people have problems than don’t, in my opinion! I hope that for Taylor, too – she deserves that! Merry Christmas, dear friend!
