How was your weekend? Mine was good! I didn’t take many pictures, but here we go…
I am linking up today with Heather, Tanya, and others here.

If you were wondering if grocery shopping has changed since the college kids have been home, the answer is yes! I started my Friday (after coffee, exercise, and breakfast) with a massive grocery haul. I shopped myself rather than doing grocery pick up.

For lunch Friday, I tried cheeseburger salad with ground turkey and a “special” sauce made out of non-fat plain Greek yogurt. It was good – I had it again for dinner last night!

I started this on Friday and sadly, finished it on Saturday! It was the perfect summer read.

Tom is always tired on Friday nights so I was fine to make salad and pizza at home.
Saturday morning I enjoyed my iced coffee on the deck. I had already had my two hot coffees and breakfast. I do my iced coffee around 10.

And, Tom and I headed to the river.

We saw this guy on a foil surfboard. He controlled it with a handheld device.

We saw our friend and his daughter on their jet ski.

We got home around 4:00 and I got cleaned up and started cooking. We had our friends to the patio for dinner and I made aperol spritzs.

I tried Half Baked Harvest’s whipped ricotta toast with marinated tomatoes on some pieces and honey and strawberries on some pieces. I don’t think I will make it again. Goat cheese is better in my opinion. I don’t think I’m a ricotta person. I use cottage cheese for my lasagna because that is what Pioneer Woman does.

And, I made a spicy angel hair alfredo with chicken and mushrooms.

Tom talking with his hands. We stayed out and talked until almost 10.

Sunday morning we woke to some light rain. I had my coffee with my candle and read a bit – one of my favorite summertime things!

And, I started this right after Float Plan. It is so good! I can’t believe I have had two great summer reads this weekend.

Mason had friends over to play Dungeons and Dragons. Yes, both of my kids still play this – either online or in person. Tom also used to play in high school. To be funny, we used these school lunch trays and made a very basic kid meal (mac and cheese, frozen chicken nuggets, tater tots, grapes, and honey mustard and ketchup) for one of the guy’s birthdays. Mason also went up to Kroger and bought him a cookie cake.

Tom and I hung out on the patio after Tom did a ton of yard work and I did a ton of housework.

It was a full weekend!
How was yours? I hope it was wonderful!

What a fun weekend! I have been spending more time outside and it feels so good. I listened to an audio book and then started my free Kindle book for the month. My friend gave me the whole set of the Bridgerton books to borrow – so that’s what I’ll read next. Which should be a nice departure from my psychological thrillers!

Thank you! It really does! Our mosquitos aren’t bad yet. I tried to read one of the Bridgerton and just couldn’t get into it. Let me know what you think because I probably didn’t give it a chance.
I’m not really into psychological thrillers but I see the appeal!

What a fun weekend; requesting both those books right now! We did get out jet skiing yesterday as temps really sky rocketed these past two days.

Thank you Joanne! I hope you like them. They are definitely chick lit summer reads but with substance. The jet ski is so fun! Why go on vacation when you live on a lake? Lol! I love your view!

We had a nice weekend! Saturday was a bridal shower for a wedding Taylor is in this Fall and then we did some shopping in Fresno but it was SOOOO HOT at the shower. Yes, I live in California. No, I do not mind the heat. I HATE it with a passion. Sunday we saw The Conjuring the Devil Made me Do it movie and it was good. If you like scary movies. I’m ready for some Rom Com movies to be out or something besides scary gore. Now I have 3 days of golf! I am excited and nervous. I have never in my life played golf 3 days in a row! At least today is a scrambles tournament and for Fresno State Football. So it will be a fun day. Have a great week! Going to have to check out those books you mentioned!

You always have the best weekends! I don’t like scary but I could use a good rom com. I love going to the theater! Good luck with all of your golf – maybe you will need to schedule a massage the day after your last tournament!

I love Half Baked Harvest’s recipes, but I agree that I don’t love ricotta cheese; I’ll have to try goat cheese next time. But that pasta looks delicious! Also, I love Christa Lauren’s books, so I’ll have to check out that book! It looks like you had a fabulous weekend!

I was wondering if it was because I bought it at Trader Joe’s? Sometimes I don’t like their products as much as my regular grocery. Thank you! You will like this book I think! It was a good one!

You are in a reading groove! I just picked up a huge grocery order today. Kids at home in the summer means we apparently need more snacks 🙂 I hung out on a friend’s patio Saturday night which was so nice. I love the trays…& the food looks delish!

Yes! There is something about reading outside with me! All the snacks! Also, we haven’t been eating out much for some reason! Hanging out on patios is the best. Thank you!
