It is Friday! What a week! After Halloween and Election Day I think we all need a nap this weekend, no? I am linking up with Andrea, etc. right here.

Last Saturday for Halloween I did this fun purple color. I got tired of it and changed it by Monday but it was fun for Halloween.

I used my camo strap on this brown purse last weekend, too. I thought it looked good with cognac, too.

I wrote actual letters to two former students at college and to my aunts and uncles in Michigan and Ohio. I wish I did this more because it is nice to get old fashioned mail. My aunts had sent me birthday cards and they do not do Facebook so I thought I should respond. My college girls’ moms gave me their addresses when they first left in August and I am ashamed how long it took me.

Remember my Goodfellow pullover? I washed it with my year old burgundy Aerie leggings and the trim turned out pink. I am very mad at myself because I normally wash on cold plus I have washed the leggings at least 30 times. Someone in the household (Tom or Ernie) must have changed it to warm. But, I think I like this pink trim! Ha!

And, every fall and winter I seem to need shirts to go under ponchos and vests. I found this Target A New Day that I think will be good to have. It used to be that they have stacks and stacks of different colors. Why is this not a thing anymore? Anyone have recs for more solid color long sleeve tees? It seems like these staples only last a season or two for me.

And, I saw this on Facebook:

Pretty crazy, right?

Next week I will be talking about Thanksgiving and all of the challenges it will present this year.

What were your favorites this week? I would be remiss if I did not count your comments and sweet birthday wishes as my favorites, as well. Thank you for adding to my life in such a positive way. You are my lifeline during these dark times.

Hope to see you back here on Monday! Let me know what made you smile this week!

  1. I love your purse strap! It looks great with the cognac purse. That’s so sweet of you to write letters. It’s always fun to get that kind of mail! How crazy about your pullover! It looks pretty though. Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you! That was just a cheap bag from Amazon but the strap makes it more interesting. Now I have not gone anywhere to need a purse! I would love to get some mail that isn’t a political ad or a bill! I know – I am fine with the pullover but I have thought about ordering another because I love it so much. It has pockets which the Aerie does not!

  2. I love sending out mail to family and friends and always think I’m going to do a much better job at remembering to do that more often.. but I don’t. I am sure that your letters will be greatly appreciated.

I think I like the color of your pullover from Target better a slight slight pink!! Pretty!
I think I need to go to Target tomorrow and get one! Is it in the men’s section?

    1. Thank you Michelle! Thank you! It is helping a lot and I have to give hub credit – he works in construction and he has really good taste in my opinion. But he has expensive taste!
Yes, the pullover is men’s but I find that it is cut slim and I got my regular size. I would like it a bit roomier so I may actually order another one since I like it so much. It has pockets where my Aerie one does not.
We are in the same boat in KY. It just stinks. I am starting to think that we won’t go back at all this year because my district is so large. The logistics just seem too daunting – bussing, lunch, hallways, bathrooms, etc.
      Have a great weekend!

  4. I like the pink trim! And it will probably be bleached after a couple of washes.
I picked up The Giver of Stars at the library, and have read a few pages; it sucked me in from the beginning with that cool woman on her mule alone in the forest!
We’re spending Sunday in the city with bread buns from the bakery and a nice fall walk in our beautiful city park.
    Enjoy your Sunday!

    1. That’s true – I didn’t think that it might fade.
I hope you love the book. Let me know!
Are you reading in English or Swedish?
Your Sunday sounds lovely. We are doing last boat ride. We have never been able to boat in November but it is 75 degrees!

      1. Our November is also non-typically warm! I love it! It’s not 75 (lucky you!), but 47 is very fine with me! We haven’t taken up the boat from the water, it’s the only one left on the dock, poor thing… We’re actually thinking of going out this weekend, could be nice to see the waters at this time of year! (We have to dress warm, though…)
I mostly read in English, if the book isn’t Swedish of course!

  5. I ended up getting one of those Target pullovers after you recommended and I love it! I dropped it off to get monogrammed and can’t wait for it to be ready. I have been wearing the Amazon Essentials tees under cardigans and loving them. They come in a bunch of different colors, too. Have a great week!
