Happy Friday! That is of course, my first favorite. I am linking up with Andrea, etc. here.
This week gave us a real taste of spring. I opened my sun roof on a couple of the days. I was parked when I took this, just so you know. The blue skies and fluffy clouds made me so happy!

Sunday night I went out to dinner with 3 college friends. I ordered a horrible sangria for $11 that tasted like Welch’s grape juice. That part was not a favorite but catching up with friends was so nice. I don’t usually go out on a Sunday and I will admit that I started getting nervous as the clock headed toward my bedtime!

I love my Trader Joe’s frozen rice and this is really good, too. The box comes with two packets that you microwave. It is a great short cut if you also like quinoa.

It’s time to start thinking about St. Patrick’s Day. I love this day because it’s my sister’s birthday, I am part Irish, and it’s just fun! This is what I usually make for dinner. I love celebrating the little holidays, too, even though I have teens now. They still enjoy my festivities I think. Sausage, onions, pretzel rolls with green butter, green mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and a little cup of Rolos and Skittles make for an easy weeknight dinner. I have turned the milk green, too! I have also done Lucky Charms and green milk for breakfast.

I know I owe you a renovation update. The truth is that we spent all of January waiting for the inspector and we couldn’t get our permit for the patio until that happened. Finally in February those two pieces came together. My husband has worked the last two weekends and has built this all by himself. I now can use the back door! It’s the little things! The patio is far from done – we need to finish securing the planks, stain the wood, do the railings, and then furnish it but it is definitely a favorite.

If you read my “Getting Ready for Spring” post Wednesday, you saw that I ordered this Knox Rose for Target top. It is better than I thought it would be. The back is a knit material and the front is so cute. I am seriously thinking about getting a second one because sometimes white clothing only lasts one season. Here it is if you are interested.

I ordered on Target.com and then did the in store pick up. They included the yummiest red gummy bears. I wish I could buy these!

So, what were your favorites this week?
What are you up to this weekend?
I am excited about the time change and I really need a pedicure. I know that we will see some cold weather before it’s all said and done but my flip flops are calling to me.
Thanks so much for reading!
Amy
Flip flops!? Ooh, that’s not even on my horizon! 30° in Stockholm today… But I will have to fix my feet and shave my legs for Easter, since we will visit a spa then…
The patio looks great! Your husband did a terrific job!
This weekend we’ll stay in the city for the first time since last summer! We got a bit fed up last weekend, it was so cold and grey… So this weekend we’ll enjoy the city with a visit to the mall, the cinema, and a coffeeshop or two…!
Enjoy your weekend!

I love the white lines on your windows and doors. Waiting for inspections is so frustrating.
I can’t decide if I want to do a pedicure this weekend or next. The cold weather definitely isn’t done but it’s time!

Thank you! We were going for an arts and crafts style.
It’s a bit early for sandal ready feet but mine look so bad so it’s really just for me!

Amy, I love reading your blog. Thanks for sharing your great content. Fabulous deck! Will be so fun to furnish it – and a great spot to enjoy your coffee and cocktails. Have you tried using quinoa to make a salad meal with halloumi? So yummy and filling – and easy to take to work for lunch.

Sue, you are so kind to say that. I am so excited to furnish the deck but it will be $$$, too. I want lots of plants! I love sitting outside with coffee and cocktails this the name of my blog! I will look halloumi up – I’m embarrassed to say I’m not sure what that is. I have a Mediterranean place in walking distance that has quinoa in a salad. I am
obsessed with Mexican quinoa for lunch but I may get tired of it soon. Thanks for the idea and have a wonderful weekend!

The patio looks great, your husband must be very handy! I looked online for the Amanda Rose top at Target and was excited to see it was available at a store near me, but once I got there I couldn’t find it and asked a sales associate about it. She said that the brand always shows up as in stock but they never get any pieces from the line! Now that I’ve seen yours I’m going to order it to deliver to the store. One question, did you get you normal size in it? I might try one in each color, the pink looks kind of nice.
Have a great weekend! The weather here in AZ is perfect today and rainy tomorrow, don’t you love spring?!

That’s kind of what I had figured out – only available online. Yes I did normal size and it is perfect so I won’t dry it. I think I will need a cami under it. The other color was interesting, too, but it is pretty expensive and I think I would wear white more so I may order another white one!
Thank you for compliments on the patio!!!

I forgot to say that the sales associate said that brand is usually at the Super Target stores, but I don’t have one near me.
