Hello!  What did you do this weekend?

Friday night we stayed in and ate all the hodge podge of leftovers in the fridge!  We started watching Psych as a family again.  It’s a great show!  I went to bed early Friday night.

Saturday was a boat day.  This is Ernie’s dog ramp.  It inflates and it is on the opposite side of the people ladder.  It works really well.  It was so nice this weekend.  It wasn’t so hot that I had to get in.  We had a picnic lunch in the cove and let Ernie swim while we listened to music.

Saturday night was a free concert at the local outdoor amphitheater.  It was just our family as none of our friends were free.

They rotate food trucks at this event and this time they had a beer truck, cookie and ice cream, Mexican food, crab cakes, and barbecue.  One son and I split a burrito and a crab cake.  The crab cake was the better of the two and it was delicious!

That awkward moment when your nail polish matches your husband’s shirt.  This is the new polish I bought this week by Orly called “De-Stressed Denim”.  I was looking for a blue-grey and I liked this and think it will be good in the fall, too.

Sunday morning I was up early and read a bit with my coffee.  I just got this from the library and really like it so far.  I’m about halfway in.

I hadn’t been to Kroger for a big trip in a couple of weeks, so it was time.  I couldn’t believe this entire shelf of candy corn on July 29!  Really?

The rest of Sunday was low key.  I got an oil change, ran to Trader Joe’s, saw a movie (Sorry to Bother You – not sure if I would recommend – still processing it!), took boys to a friend’s house, did chores, did some cooking, more reading, more tv watching.  Sunday night time for Big Brother with one son (the other son won’t give it a chance!)

What are you up to this week?  We have an orthodontist appointment, my last Spanish lesson that I give to a young married couple, a two day workshop for me, and a couple of birthdays.

Thanks for stopping by!

Amy

  1. Your new nail polish is so pretty and how funny that it matched your husband’s shirt!!! We saw “Sorry to Bother You” and it was not at all what we were expecting. In fact as we were walking out of the theater a man said to his wife, “What the hell was that?” I thought that summed it up perfectly!
    Happy Monday!

    1. Thanks! Yes about the movie – I almost didn’t mention it and we let one son see it. He loves talking lighting, filming, etc and loved it! We had a good discussion on why and I am still trying to figure it out.
I did like some of it. Anyway… have a great day!

  2. I’ve never seen a ramp like that!! My dogs would love their own special spot. I love that shade of blue!!! I would love to sport some especially in the fall 🙂 You’re right, candy corn is a bit early. I can’t afford any cavities right now LOL Adding your book to my list!

    1. The ramp is awesome! We had a dog ladder before and it was awful compared to this. Just finished the book – I do recommend! I do like candy corn but not in July! Lol!

  3. That’s the first time I’ve seen an inflatable dog ramp as well – brilliant! Ernie looks so cute on it as well. Your area is so amazing for outdoor events – you are so lucky! Pretty crazy with the autumn themed candy – we don’t really get any autumn themed sweet foods like that (that I know of!). Some people have been posting Xmas things in (I think) ‘Hobby Lobby’ in the US too? As soon as we get our bits and bobs in for the new season I am posting on them – not even NS clothes yet though! Glad you had a cool weekend – the food truck food is making me hungry! J xx

    1. I think it’s a relatively new invention and my husband found it online. We love the river. But, your area is gorgeous! I don’t go to hobby lobby much but they did have Christmas stuff out in June! Crazy! We are big on seasonal stuff here. I actually get really into it!
