Hello Monday! I’m happy to link up with Sarah and Holly today.

Also, I blogged on Saturday and here it is if you missed it! I participated in the fun Share Four Somethings link up.

Today is my birthday! Here are 55 things about me:

Just kidding! Can you imagine? I don’t think there are even 55 things about me.

I got an AARP membership offer in the mail. Wow – way to kick a gal when she’s down.

So, yes, I am 55 today! Some say I don’t look a day over 54 and a half. I won’t see my kids today and I miss my parents on my birthday.

I hope I find a penny from my dad (pennies from Heaven) and I know there will be something that reminds me of my mom, too! Boy, the pressure is on Tom today, isn’t it? Lol! Also, I have told my dad that it would be ok to leave larger denominations of coins now due to the stopping of the penny manufacturing. And the economy. Inflation.

Let’s talk about the weekend. All the fall vibes now and it happened all of a sudden!

I had a really nice Friday with a couple of Eddie Otis walks and lots of outside time. Then, at 4:30, I met the Heathers and we had a wonderful cocktail – a Sarti spritz – at Limestone Bay. After our chat and fun time together…

we met our men at Captain’s Quarters, and the view was so lovely at our table. My former student waited on us, too!

I think half of our table got the mahi melt:

Saturday Tom and I took what might be the last boat ride of the season. We are going to try one more, but the weather might not cooperate. We like to do the first and last boat ride of the season with just us and Eddie Otis.

It was a little chilly when we were moving but it was so nice. I enjoyed it so much! We got to see some color in the leaves from the river.

Some more leaves showing off while driving home…

Want to hear something funny/ironic? The neighbor’s EX that is so good with a leaf blower in every season didn’t blow when it mattered:

But then he started blowing just as I took my book outside to read around 3:00. We got a text from the neighbor on the other side who was entertaining for Halloween and annoyed that he chose to start then.

Want to hear something even funnier? He left a line of leaves on our property line.

Leaving some of your leaves for your neighbor just because it’s not technically your property tells you everything you need to know about a person. That, and if you return your shopping cart to the cart corral.

I got a new book – Hollow Bones – and I am reading the last Emma M. Lion book:

I ate the other half of my mahi melt for a late lunch along with some potato slices:

Since Tom and I both ate a late lunch, I just made some pancakes for dinner and they were so good! Enjoy this blurry pancake photo:

Yesterday my friend Victoria stopped by to borrow some Emma M. Lion books and I made her a protein iced coffee and we had a chin wag. It was nice. Then, Tom, EO, and I went to see Tom’s cousin’s kid play soccer.

We took a really pretty drive home and lazed around the rest of the day.

What was the highlight of your weekend?

Amy

  1. Happy Birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day!! I’m SURE there are 55 things about you but… I understand your mentality in NOT listing 55 things :). Your weekend sounds really nice. You enjoyed fall for sure. Being near the water looks inviting. Spending time with friends is always a great way to spend a celebratory weekend. I hope you feel special and loved all day.

    1. Thank you! Some of the 55 might really hit the bottom of the barrel like I enjoy string cheese. I do not enjoy puzzles or photos of completed puzzles. Even though it’s the very non-exciting Ohio River, I love seeing any body of water. I hope so, too, or some people will get moved to my s–t list. Lol.

  2. Happy Birthday!!! The AARP mail is NOT appreciated by me unless of course there’s a great discount on something I’m offered – ha! I hope you have a great day!
That picture from behind of Tom and EO needs to be framed, the love!!!
Our neighbor across the street blows all the leaves – that apparently come from our oak trees back to yard. So much work on his part – and like it’s our fault trees lose leaves? It cracks me up actually because it’s so petty.
Have the very best day Amy!

    1. I will try to get 55 and up discounts when I can! Lol!
      Isn’t that the sweetest?
I have come to determine that blowing doesn’t really do much. You have to bag them up. But leave them be – pun intended. I hope my tone was interpreted how I mean it. I mostly just laugh about this absolute idiot. He got disbarred for stealing money, too. So, I really don’t feel bad.
Thank you! You need all of those Belk dresses and need to throw a party so you can wear them!

  3. Happy birthday! Your Friday looks fabulous with friends and outside dining. Lead peeping on the boat…awesome! The leaf situation…omg. What a jerk. I hope you have many reminders today of how much people love and appreciate you! Have a great day.

  4. Somewhere on my blog is a long list of things about me. Some are just fun silly things, but I enjoyed making the list. I’m sure you could come up with 55! Happy birthday! My sister Amy also has a birthday this week (Thursday). That dining spot beside the water looks like my kind of place! Have a great day!

  5. Happy Birthday!! You do not look 55!! Hope you have a beautiful day. πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³ I think I already mentioned this but my husband had shoulder surgery to repair a tendon he tore mountain biking. By Saturday evening I was getting antsy and he was doing well so I went to a friend’s house to hand out candy on her driveway. There were so many cute costumes. That was a definite highlight!
