I’m talking October books and joining in with the Monthly Musings girls today!

Emma M. Lion books have made me so happy this fall! This month I read more of them and I am currently on the final one. There are currently 8 and volume 9 comes out in February.

I really enjoyed this:

I loved this:

Read The Academy first if you haven’t already.

My niece told me about Lynn Painter this month! She reminds me of Sarah Adams. This was so fun for football season:

And, another Lynn Painter. This is so cute!

  1. 1. Well, I used to! It’s different with no kids in the house and as a retired person. I still buy some candy corn, some chocolate candy, and decorate. I enjoy seeing decor around town, too! None of our friends have a party these days.
  2. 2. Minimally. I have one mum, two pumpkins, and I have quite a bit of tasteful (in my opinion) fall stuff inside in my living room, dining room, and kitchen. It makes me happy!
  1. 3. No, but I have three graphic tees from Old Navy. I have enjoyed wearing them this month for sure! Can you see the little witch hats?

4. No, but my husband made our twins’ Fred and Barney costumes out of felt for their first year!

5. Fun size! I like variety so I feel like I can have one of each! Lol!

6. I really like the Reese’s pumpkins. The ratio is different than a regular Reese’s!

7. Heck no! Real life is scary enough. Eddie Otis agrees!

8. 1985 Prom Queen!

9. Charlie Brown’s Great Pumpkin!

10. It’s always on actual October 31st and I’m nervous with that falling on a Saturday and time change night! Is it also a full moon?

This was fun!

  1. It’s always great to find a book series that you enjoy. I’m glad our good weather is supposed to hold through Halloween. It will be a bit colder than it’s been but I’m not complaining about mid 60’s which is Saturday’s high for us. Your twins’ first costumes were adorable. Had Tom dabbled in felt costume construction prior to the boys’ first Halloween or were the costumes his first go round at it? He did a great job.

    1. This has just been such a nice series for me this fall. Yes! I think the rain is coming for us next week. I don’t know but he also made teddy bear overalls for “Corduroy” when they were a bit older. His only medium is felt as far as I know – lol.

  2. Fred and Barney are so cute : ) I enjoy seeing the colors of fall, pumpkins, colorful leaves and mums. I can definitely do without the giant skeletons. My youngest grandson still refers to Lowes as ‘the scary store’ because they went in there last year in August and were greeted by a giant werewolf that made noise. I agree the world is scary enough! Have a great day!

  3. I loved that book Accidentally Amy by Lynn Painter! I really like her books, but they didn’t have any of them at the library when I went Sunday. I’d like to read the First and Forever one! I loved all your answers to the MM prompts. One year old Jack and Mason were precious! I bought a few costumes over the years, but we usually made our own. I will dress up a little tomorrow…not much, but a little. I hope you have the best day!

    1. This book is so cute! I am loving it! I also liked her football book I read last week. Love when I “discover” a new author. What I wouldn’t give to hug and squeeze those chubby little things again. Can you believe they were preemies? We fattened them right up! My kids got pretty creative at the end of elementary and middle with their costumes. I also bought costumes at big consignment sales and one of them was Scooby Doo for many years! I hope today is a good day for you!
