Well, it’s here – at least on the calendar! It is the first official day of fall as you are reading this. Last week here in Louisville, Ky we had a heat advisory, and it was so hot, muggy, and sticky on Sunday while we were at a primarily outdoor family gathering so I was done!

I’m hoping to show you some different outfits soon! I feel like I have been on repeat for the last several weeks, but that’s real life and I show you my real outfits – I swear!

Here are some ‘fits from the past week…

This consigment striped button up really needs a camisole underneath, but it was so hot that I went without. I can’t even remember where I went in it. I have on my side stripe Halaras so you’ve got the stripe on stripe.

To go see my former student’s baby, I put on this tee I bought at Old Navy for Valentine’s last year because it is cherries shaped like hearts. But I think you can enjoy cherries and hearts anytime, no? The shirt is a pale pink even though it looks white and I wore it with what have become my favorite athletic shorts – clearance Old Navy this season pink with red trim. I wish I could find more of them. They have a fun little flutter on the sides.

I wore this is meet my friend for happy hour – I have on last year’s purchase of Free People canvas mary janes, Halara light wide legged denim, and an embroidered blouse that was a TJ Maxx find in early summer this year.

I looked at my fall and winter stuff and went ahead and pulled out my fall graphic tees from Old Navy last year. I bought “Witching Hour” and one with tiny pumpkins and I wore both last week! I wore “Witching Hour” to run some Saturday mornings and then I changed into…

this dress for the celebration of life I attended Saturday afternoon with my friend for another friend’s husband. It is old Walmart Free Assembly and I wanted to wear it because it had pockets for my keys since I didn’t want to carry a bag. It was also super hot that day and this dress is made of a cool feeling fabric.

For the family gathering low country boil on Sunday I wore my Old Navy skort one last time since it’s pretty summery and the white Target blouse. I ended up changing to flip flops instead of these sandals.

I got a wild hair and decided to stop by Old Navy in person instead of placing an online order that I planned. I wanted this witch hat graphic tee. I didn’t realize it was part of the Disney collection and I am not a Disney Adult. I also didn’t realize it also had black cats and little orange and yellow doo dads. This is why shopping in person can definitely be better! It was only sale for $10.

I also grabbed this Summer Fridays t-shirt that was on sale. I think it was $8.49. I liked the light blue and thought it would look good under something.

And, I got this brown interesting shoulder tee for $7. I think I can wear it under a certain sweater I have and I am loving brown right now.

What can I say? I love a tee. The Old Navy graphic tees are cut for women and super soft. They aren’t fast fashion if I keep them for several years. I try to baby them and wash them on cold. I need to line dry them, too, I think.

What have you been wearing lately? Buying? Prepping for fall?

Join the party here!

Amy

  1. I love that first picture of stripe on stripe. I like the Free Assembly line of clothes and have some pieces. I feel like I need to mark myself safe from August and September. I am so glad we are finally done with temperatures in the 90’s for this first week of fall. Now I am hearing winter is going to be hard. I still prefer these fall months though! Have a good day!

    1. Thank you! The camisole underneath will definitely look better. I agree but haven’t looked at the horrible Walmart website in a long time. I know – it seemed brutal this year. I want a mild winter to be honest. The last two years were rough.

  2. I broke out some fall stuff over the weekend and yesterday I wore jeans and a sweater since it was only in the 60’s. I don’t want to pack away all my summer stuff just yet though.

      1. Our cool weather came in overnight as I did wear short sleeves on Saturday and Sunday. Yesterday was a high of maybe 64 (which looks like it will be the high for the next 7 days) but it was super windy and today is a high of 63 with overnight temps in the 40’s.

      2. Wow! That is crazy but sounds so refreshing to me. Yesterday our high was 83 and today our high is 74 so I will take that. I can’t wait til the first frost when the mosquitos go back to where they came from!

  3. I need to do some wardrobe adjustments to keep up with the weather. It’s a good “problem” to have :). Your outfits are cute. I like the Free Assembly dress. I only wore one put together outfit last week (#workisadrag) so I couldn’t link up- boo!

    1. Oh that’s funny! Same! I think they are really great. I do sometimes get the little pin prick holes at the stomach area – so frustrating. I love that you can get them in tall, too. I think that is a good trick when something is cropped.

  4. I love all the outfits from your week and weekend! Those Old Navy tees are really cute. I’m probably going to have to make a few purchases of tops for the fall/winter. I remember thinking that at the end of the winter earlier in the year. I also need/want some new Halaras. We’ll see!

    1. Aww, thank you. I feel like a broken record. I feel like the tees fit my lifestyle now perhaps? I always love to see what boutique blouses they have on offer at my local boutiques. There are several styles of Halaras that could jump in my cart but I really do have enough. Lol.

    1. So exciting, though! Today our high is 74 and I will take that! I am so excited! Thank you. I thought it was a great TJ find but I don’t usually find much there. Thank you for linking up!

  5. Such cute transitional outfits. I need to get into ON! I plan on decorating for fall this week. It’s late for me but we were out of town last week and had a house full over the weekend. I made the easiest chocolate chip pumpkin bread for our guests. Bring on fall!

    1. Thank you! ON can be a great source of wardrobe staples. That’s ok – never too late! Oh, that sounds good. I love to have a tea or coffee with a slice of sweet bread in the fall.

  7. It is feeling more like Autumn here, especially over the last few days. I hope it cools down for you soon. The tee with the cherries and hearts on is so cute and the Witching Hour one did make me smile. That is good you got one more wear of your Old Navy skort, I do really like it!

  8. I am loving brown too lately and I am happy that the forecast is cooling off some! I haven’t fallen in love with any new graphic tees, I wouldn’t mind a white one, but I am so picky that I have found one that I liked. That skort is so good and I feel you probably could still wear it throughout October. Wearing pants this week since I have been in the hospital with my mom and it gets cold in those rooms!

  10. The color brown is really having a moment right now and it’s a great color on you, too! One of the things I love best about you and your blog, Amy, is how authentic you are and the ways in which you share your real life day in and day out! I hope the weather cools down for you soon so you can begin to truly enjoy the fall season that’s officially here!

  11. Old Navy is truly the best place for graphic tees, isn’t it? But, the one store I was in the other day had very few. I have three within a ten mile radius from me so I’ll check the others out. I don’t necessarily want a Halloween tee, but I do like the one you got. I think your skort is so daggone cute. I’m so glad I found that print in a dress because the skort at my store was so short. It turned cool here so I wore a sweater today! I’m so ready to put the shorts away, too!
