How the heck are you all? How the heck is it already the middle of September? It’s Fashion Files day here on the blog with Marsha and me.
I have put away many of my outside shorts (not my exercise shorts or in the house lounging shorts) and basically the only ones still out are these Aerie cut offs. Boy, did I get my money’s worth. I wore them with the black Target top and my Kork Ease sandals to do some errands last week on Monday. My tan is fading. I am debating if I will apply Tan Luxe The Butter or Loving Tan.

Tuesday I had a happy hour and wore this – my Kork Ease sandals, Target polka dot linen pants, and my J.Crew Factory blouse.

I didn’t put on anything noteworthy Wednesday or Thursday – those were cleaning the house and Costco run days, I think.
Friday, I wore this to ride to my hometown and switched the pants for the cut offs when we got there. It was cool in the morning with rain and then the rain heated things up when it left.
I’m wearing the white version of the black blouse in the first picture with my newish Halara barrel leg pants. I bought them in olive green and short length. They are the most comfortable fabric and have pockets. I’m not sure how flattering they are but the length is perfect.

And, here is a better photo of the pants. I put them on again the next day with my brown TJ Maxx gauzy shirt.

Here I will link to the pants for you if you are interested. They come in tons of colors and would work for work pants.
I wear my short rain boots every day. The current pair I am using are torn up somewhere and causing my feet to get wet. The last two pairs I have gotten for $20 at Costco. I was hoping they would have some available in that price range.
All they had were Hunter brand at about a $30 price reduction. These were $99 and I saw them in a department store last weekend for $135.

I have had tall Hunter boots that lasted 10 years. I am a little unsure about the wedge heel and need to put socks on and wear them around the house. I need them to be easy to slip on so I was thinking I would like shorter than this, even.
I’m tired of all of my summer clothes. Are you?
I want a new handbag and some new early fall shoes that are both comfortable and stylish.
What about you? What is on your wish list? What have you been wearing? Do you think you “rush” the season and start wearing fall stuff too early?
We’d love for you to link up here!
Amy
I like your new barrel pants and your new boots. I don’t dislike wearing my summer clothes on hot days. When I’m home from school, I’m dressing for comfort/the weather not for fashion so how I look is completely irrelevant to me at that point. If I’m dressing for a social occasion, I do keep the season/season transition in mind a little bit but mostly I still dress for what makes the most sense weather wise.

Thank you! Well, I guess t-shirts and athletic shorts are year round for me, really. That is true.

I love all the outfits! It’s funny that you mentioned barrel leg pants; I bought some as well recently, but I’m returning them. While I totally love them, I want them to be cropped, and the ones I bought are long like yours. They don’t look as barrel to me if they’re longer! I was going to look at Halara, to see if they have petite as an option. Also, speaking of Halara, I think I’m going to order some new jeans in the next few days or weeks.
I’m getting tired of summer clothes, too. I don’t have things that are super new or trendy for fall, but I’m just tired of the intense heat that burns my skin each afternoon when I walk out with Kindergarten. Ugh. Also, these babies need some outdoor recess. Ha! Happy Tuesday!

Someone told me the key to barrel is to show ankle. On my body, I need the barrel to be a small barrel – lol. I believe they do have petite as an option for the ones I got and I think I got petite but maybe not? The Halara jeans have paid for themselves many times over at this point. Great find!
Yes! I pulled out some early fall blouses and I’m just excited to wear them with jeans. I will take high 70s temps! That’s all I need. I know – my sister says indoor recess is the worst.

Love the polka dot pants! And yes, I am also ready for fall clothes. I hope the wedge rain boots work out because they are super cute. Yay for finding a new bag for fall. I just bought two so I need to chill out which is why I’m selling some of mine on Poshmark. Thanks so much for the link up!

I saw last week Halara has some barrel pants with a ruffle on the side that looks so cute! I am wearing mostly dresses these days. It looks like our temperatures will finally drop some next week on the first day of fall. It is our hottest September on record. I am done with summer and ready for fall!

That could be interesting. Did you see the black ruffle ones I showed? I am still thinking about those. I think dresses are smart in this heat. Yes!

I have been wearing fall tops with fall colored shorts 😅 I think I mentioned that I hadn’t bought clothes from Target in ages but I bought a pair of Universal Thread twill barrel leg pull on pants in a caramel color last week. They are cute and comfortable but fo weinkle a bit. I think I will get alot of wear out of them.

There is such a need for that category in your closet! I usually love the Universal Thread brand!

I just spent my morning packing away all shorts and tank tops since we won’t even reach 70 today and the temps don’t look like they’ll get much higher than mid 70’s for the next week or so anyway. I did keep all short sleeves and capri pants out still but it’s definitely that time of year where more pants and long sleeves are going to be in rotation. I definitely don’t try to rush the season though. I will wear flip flops until nearly snow time…

Wow! That sounds amazing! I wear flip flops until January!

I have not put away my summer clothes yet as the weather can’t make it’s mind up here! I love those polka dot pants! Those boots look great! When I lived on a farm the Hunter brand were always the best boots!

I know! We can wear shorts into November here, really. Thank you! I hope the boots work out. They are good quality and I know that from my tall ones that lasted 10 years.

Oh, I like those barrel pants: a fun non exaggerated pair. Of course I am continue to love your polka dot pants. I am still wearing my shorts but am trying to wear pants on days that are not too crazy hot and I know I will mostly be indoors.

I bought a beautiful new purse in Galway at a leather store – love it. I’m still in shorts most of the time, with capri jeans for going out.

OH – what an amazing souvenir. I’m wearing shorts most of the day and trying to wear wide leg jeans out.

I’m not putting my shorts away just yet. It’s still too hot and humid. Mine are almost all Old Navy and going on their third or fourth year…maybe even five years! You would laugh if you saw the boots I wear when I take Jack out in the mornings. They’re old snow boots, and the sole on one is flapping around! But, they keep my feet warm so I’ll keep them until this winter when I can maybe find a new pair of snow boots. I don’t necessarily want any fall shoes just yet, but I really, really want a new suede bag. I’m thinking about the Quince one. I think those Halara pants look fabulous on you. You’ll have to wait until next week for mine! Got them today!

I didn’t put them all away – just the ones I wasn’t wearing as much. See? ON can be great! You do need some new ones. My feet would sweat so much in snow boots because we actually walk the track on the playground. I need them to be comfortable and not hot for that. I really want a fall pair of shoes and a new handbag. The Quince ones look nice. Thank you – I think the dark green will be great for white and black.
I am waiting with bated breath!

I like my shoes to be easy on\easy off, too! Those short Hunter boots are cute. I hope they work out for you. I really like your brown polka dot pants, too. So cute! I am not yet bored of my summer clothes and I’m definitely not ready for fall yet. Once fall is here, it quickly turns into 9 months of winter where I live! Thanks for the party!

Yes! If they are too fussy I won’t mess with them. That is a good point. Our winters aren’t that bad but still.

I love your happy hour outfit…the polka dot pants are cute! I love the barrel ones too. I want to try a pair of barrels

Thank you! The barrel has to be the right width and I think you need a little ankle showing. I wish mine were a tad shorter. I also have some leopards from last year but I feel like they are too voluminous. I needed a smaller barrel.
