I forgot that today would be like a Monday, but the show must go on, no?

Today’s post is Target heavy! I really didn’t shop clothing at Target much this summer at all after a very successful Target winter. I found a sweater and a vest last winter that I loved. Alas, at the end of this summer I found linen pants and then two basic but with nice details tops to wear with solids or printed bottoms.

I bought the pants in all three colors, but returned the black since I have other black options. I kept the white and the polka dot. I would say these stretch out a bit and you might need to size down. I was happy that they came in short length. I paid $21 for each pair on sale.

The shirt I am wearing I bought in both the white and the black. It’s pretty lightweight. I paid $25 but they are now on sale for $17.

I am pleased with the pants and the tops. I don’t necessarily want to buy Target clothing but I got sucked in.

Now let’s talk about the CicyBell jeans. They are available on Amazon and the stripe down the side just had me swooning. I already have a pair with a stripe down the side from Halara so why did I think I needed more? Why am I the way that I am? I paid to have them hemmed because the stripe doesn’t come in petite or extra petite length. I am 5’4 and the extra petite length in Halara (that only comes in some styles) is perfect. Because they are elastic waist, you can pull them up higher or lower them to your liking, too.

The CicyBell are very similar to the Halara, but here they are on me. They don’t come in different lengths, either. I have on about a 2 inch heel.

They are very, very long. I think the Halara are a little better quality and because I have washed and worn them so many times I can attest that they hold up well. So, I am happy that I am still a big fan of Halara. The Cicy Bell went back.

Let’s talk about the CicyBell oversized button up. I look like a security guard. It is pretty thick material and is pretty well made, but it did not work for me and it went back, too.

I also wore this dress this week to play mah jong and go to dinner. It is old Walmart Free Assembly.

We talked about my sister’s wedding which happened 5 days before my twins were born. I was only 30 weeks pregnant so we didn’t know this at the time.

  1. Great throwback pics to when the boys were almost born! I like your linen pants. I feel like the Quince brand linen pants that I have also run small. Like what do the actual XS sized women wear? (Maybe they have an XXS small- I guess that’s what they’d wear!) Vanity sizing is great in a very small (pardon the pun) way but it’s not really calling a spade a spade and it gets confusing when you have to remember which brands run true to size and which ones vanity size their products! Cracking up at your security guard comparison. I think part of it is the color of the shirt? With the black pants? All of your other outfits are cute :).

  3. I’m glad you sent the City whatever jeans and shirt back; I think the Halara are so much better. The length, the fit of them, and even their color wash choices are better! I love those Target pants and the shirts you have on with them. I love the old pics of you and your sister at her wedding! The one of you laying down on the bench made me chuckle.

  6. I looked at Target clothes yesterday and tried on a few things that were on sale. Lots of cute clothes but nothing seems to fit right. I did buy a pair of black ballet flats on sale for $15. They have the cutest studded clogs with a back strap. I loved them on but they were $45 and not on sale and they make my feet sweat 😅

    1. Well, at least it saved you money and possibly future donations of clothing not quite right. I have learned the hard way not to do Target shoes. They never end up being comfortable.

  7. I had a laugh with your description for that outfit with that shirt with the stripe: I can see what you mean! I do love those Target polka dot pants on you! I have been trying not to look at Target clothes at all but have thrifted some, but this summer, Tjmaxx is what got me. I redeem my Fetch points for Tjmaxx gift cards so I look at their clearance racks and did get stuff on 3 different trips.

  8. Aww, you’re a cute security guard! You look like me in almost every pair of jeans! Luckily, I know how to do an original hem. I need to order the Halaras. I haven’t shopped at Target in a while which is good for my wallet. Love the photos of you at your sister’s wedding. You knew you were pregnant, just not with twins? Well, you looked gorgeous!

    1. I don’t know about that! Ha! Ok, Marsha – we have been talking about the Halaras for so long now. I want you to order a pair in extra petite by next Tuesday. That is your homework.
      Very good for your wallet to stay out of Target and that’s how you can justify your Halaras. I knew I was having twins but not that I would only make it 5 more days. Aww thank you.

  11. That is crazy that you had them at 30 weeks, 5 days after the wedding! I hope you joked that it pushed you over the edge!

    1. I know! Well, I had tried to start school that year. I went one day and then was put on partial bed rest. The doc knew I had to be at my sister’s wedding but she didn’t like it.
      Haha – yes!
