Well, I decided to go ahead and do Hello Monday since I have Fashion Files tomorrow. I’m not sure anyone else is on normal schedule due to Labor Day in the US, but that’s ok! I may be a Linky Party of one!

Friday I picked up some library holds:

I’ve got quite the stack of books right now, so I’m not sure what I will end up reading.

I really thought I would play Mah Jong more this summer, but it’s been tough to coordinate schedules. My friend Heather had the other Heather and I over for some Friday afternoon play time, though!

She has these cute cups and found a pre-mixed Bellini at Kroger that was so good. I need to go find it!

After we played a couple of games, the guys were invited to join us for dinner out.

I got a Hugo Spritz but couldn’t drink much of it:

I ordered a mahi sandwich:

It was a fun afternoon into evening!

I watched a bit of The Last Sunrise but couldn’t stay awake.

Saturday morning, it rained a bit and I was happy to sit outside!

I had a few errands to run and it was my twins’ birthday. I was worried I would feel sad but it was a good day. I got a cookie cake to take to Jack’s work – they messed it up. It was supposed to be “HBD at ___” the name of his work’s initials. HBD is “happy birthday” by the way.

I got an incredible surprise from friend and blog reader Sally of this gorgeous fall arrangement:

It was perfect also because I did light early fall decor:

I had some reading time (with popcorn) and napping time in the afternoon and then Tom and I took the cookie cake to Jack’s work and picked up Chinese food.

We watched some shows together and went to bed pretty early. We also got to talk to Mason on the phone and he had some fun birthday plans.

Sunday morning was a little cool out! Yes!

I finished this book this weekend. It was far-fetched and some things were pretty unbelievable but it was cute.

Sunday we were invited to go out on a beautiful and comfortable pontoon that is for sale – message me if you are interested – lol.

Tom got to try driving it!

There is a big boat party in Party Cove and in the evening, they even have a band on a floating stage.

It was a such a fun day!

  2. Your weekend sounds fun! We got rain Saturday morning, too, which was lovely though the lightening changed my running plans. Too bad that Kroger messed up the writing but it was the thought that counted- it sounds like your boys had good birthdays which is wonderful. Your plans with friends sound fun! Our friends had all of the their fall/Halloween decor out when we were at their house yesterday. I guess I’m behind the 8 ball!! The flower arrangement is so pretty!

    1. It was! I’m just glad I didn’t feel too sad about not having my kids to celebrate. It’s ok. That is so fun. I am just doing general fall but honestly, October 1 will be here soon with the way time is flying.

  4. The lake day looks great! I love that I can picture the party cove. The snack tray from Mahjong has all my favorite things… I could have eaten all of that, ha! I am glad the boys had a good birthday. And those flowers are beautiful and so thoughtful!

  6. What a fun weekend! I’m glad you weren’t sad on Saturday. That boat and party in Party Cove look amazing! How fun to go out on another boat and have someone else being in charge? I would think that would be refreshing. I’m so jealous of your cooler weather!

  7. Happy birthday to your boys. Celebrating apart takes some getting used to. I’m glad you had a fun boat day finally. Our book club today has a Venetian theme as the novel is set on Murano and I intended to do Bellinis but there hasn’t been am bringing hubs limoncello instead. It’s easy and yummy and I haven’t had a lot of free time to go extra on this one. My co-host did all the food which was really nice and she’s a great cook. We don’t have Kroger but I know there’s a good pre-made Bellini here people like too. Have a nice week!

    1. Thank you! Yes, it does! That is awesome. I have been to the glass blowing island of Murano. Limoncellos is a great sub! Trader Joe’s has a good premade one, too.

  8. I have always wanted a pontoon boat! My favorite aunt on my dad’s side had one, and I loved going out on their lake. Unfortunately, we don’t live near any lakes, and Mike is not a water kinda guy. I’m so glad you were able to “celebrate” your sons’ birthday with them in one way or another. We had a quiet weekend until Monday when our son came over to help work on the kitchen. Of course, it really wasn’t quiet as we live a hop, skip, and a jump from the NHRA race track. The Big Go was this weekend, so we heard roars all weekend long except for Friday (I think) when it poured. I like the sound though I know some don’t.

    1. They are so comfortable and fit so many people. You should see the luxury ones now. Oh, I hope the kitchen is coming along. I wouldn’t be able to handle the race track noise, either! I am sensitive to noise.

    1. Kellyann, I had forgotten everything! Also, we were using new tiles where the characters had to be explained to me over and over. I don’t like learning new tiles. The dots looked like flowers. The dragons were tigers, etc. That was my problem this summer, too.
      It’s ok. I didn’t try it because it was for his work people.
