It’s September! We all get excited and then realize we still need to wear our summer clothes for quite a bit longer! Anyway,,.we’re here together today and we have hope for a time when a sweater is needed again, don’t we?

I wear a lot of t-shirts and shorts for my gym trips, dog walks, and even the hot errands I run. This girl is tired of her legs sticking to seats, but she also has to wear shorts because it’s hot.

Last week I attended a bourbon talk with my friend Elizabeth. It was very hot and she would be coming from work in her professional girl outfit so I dressed up in this dress I bought last spring with my jelly purse and my brown wedges. The dress is by Umgee which is one of my favorite boutique brands.

Sure enough, she was in a silky shell, slacks, and pumps. Office attire. I bet she had a blazer in her car.

This was my favorite outfit of the week. I wore this to go to the library and to lunch with my son. These are my white Target linen pants and my navy Old Navy blouse.

This was what I wore Saturday night to an outdoor concert. I have on my Old Navy linen shorts that are quite old with the above navy Old Navy blouse again.

Kellyann has been talking about her Cicy Bell jeans from Amazon that are probably exactly like my Halaras that I adore. I love the stripe down the side so much. I want to order the gray, but I am worried they will be way too long, and I don’t feel like hemming. I should probably just order and see since returns are so easy, no? Would you all enable my shopping please? And why don’t all retailers offer short length? We are not all glamazon Barbies, ok?

My social media showed me this button up and look at the back! I ordered it! I will let you know what I think.

And, I am still here waiting for my Target order of this blouse in black and white…omg my Target shipping orders take soooooo long. It was not available in stores by the way.

I’m considering a third piercing if I can fit her on my lobe and be properly spaced out. I don’t think I could handle a cartilage piercing.

  1. Cute outfits! I like all of your linen wear. I haven’t worn my linen much recently and we’re about out of the season. I am pretty much down to wearing cute (as cute it gets for me) clothes on the weekends. I took no pictures so I had nothing to post today for FF :(. Maybe next week since it’s a long weekend? Three days to potentially wear cuter than my typical Mon- Fri. non cute clothing wearing days!

    1. I think I’m trying to get it in before it feels too summery. I bet – but that can be nice, too. That is a possibility for next week. I am assuming you wear t-shirts, shorts, and running shoes for work?

  4. I really love that first dress! The bold print really speaks to me. Fall is definitely in the air but the temperatures are still summer. I’m holding onto summer for as long as I can because once fall sets in here, it very quickly turns to 9 months of winter! Thanks for hosting and have a lovely week ahead!

  5. You should try the jeans, why not? Although I don’t “love“ Amazon clothes the returns are so easy and every once in a while I do find a winner! We have family pictures next week and just yesterday it was suggested that I wear a dress (I was planning on wearing blue jeans) so I quickly ordered a couple of dresses from Amazon during my lunch hour. They will be here today and tomorrow to see if any of them work. I did do an Amazon virtual try on while I was shopping yesterday and I was shocked at what AI could do. I will try to throw it in a blog post somewhere but just haven’t had the time these days. We will see how closely the virtual try on and the “real“ fit is once I get it.

  6. I love all of your outfits! That shirt that you ordered is adorable. Do you remember what website it was? I’m always so nervous when I do that from IG, but some of my favorite tops have ended up coming from there. I love the earring combos you’ve been wearing, and I say go for that third piercing! I got my third holes re-pierced when Dad died, and then I got a tattoo. I’m like you and don’t think I can handle the cartilage one, even though mine is probably still there from my teen years. It hurts too bad when I wear an earring there!

  7. I wore that blue button up yesterday and I have it in white too. I love it! I also have the Anthro version (in pink) the Amazon version washes up better and doesn’t need ironing. Of course I am going to say buy the pants! You never know till you try!

  11. I am trying not to buy any clothes or shoes this month! I am tired of burning the ba k of my legs too! I have been keeping my reusable Trader Joe’s canvas bag in my car door and it serves to carry groceries and as a seat cover so my legs don’t get burnt! 🤣🥵

  18. My latest stress reliever is piercing my lobes! lol I have ordered the easy peasy piercing kits from Amazon and now have 3 in one ear and 4 in the other. I want them higher but don’t think I trust these kits for cartilage. I got a cartilage piercing years ago from Claire’s that never healed (8 mos later…) so I let it close. I recommend a piercing/tattoo place for that!

  21. I really like the navy top with the lime green shorts…I just love that combination. I caved and ordered the jeans Kellyann posted! I’ll let you know if they’re too long or what. We had a couple of days of False Fall, and now we’re back to hot and very humid. I wanted to pierce my ear at the top, and a friend told me, at “our” age, there’s the chance of cauliflower ear because blood flow isn’t as good. I bought an ear cuff, but it’s too big and won’t bend. I’ve thought about piercing the cartilage in front of my ear. But, I also can’t stand to sleep in earrings so I’m not sure that will work. I’m definitely getting another tattoo next year for my (shh) 70th birthday!

    1. Thank you! It came to me once and I liked it! You are able to sew and hem so they might not be a problem for you. I am afraid of infections like that so that is a good reminder. Oh, I forgot I would have to sleep in a new piercing. I might just stick to two and be happy. I can’t wait to see what you pick for your tattoo!
