It’s Monday and the last day of August. How was your weekend? Mine was really good. I am going to include Thursday as part my weekend because I left it off of Friday Favorites and because I can. Ha!

Thanks to Sarah and Holly for this weekly link up. Click over to their blogs and meet some new people. This weekend I had a friend ask me how I know what to read and I said, “BLOGS!” But it’s not just what to read, it’s also what to watch, book, buy, do, and so much more, no?

I go to the library weekly to pick up requests, but I have to go in and I’m also glad I do. They have a “Dog Days of Summer” display!

So creative!

Here is my fresh stack:

I am trying to incorporate more plants, more beans and lentils, and use less meat in our meals. I really like having a non-fiction book going at the same time as a fiction book.

I go to meet Jack for lunch! I often assume he is too busy because of his work schedule but I shouldn’t do that. We had salmon and fish tacos and it was really nice.

Yes, I had this meal a week ago. The tacos are $6.50 and I could have just been satisfied with one so it’s a pretty good deal.

A pretty walking path with EO Friday morning:

I did a TJ Maxx run on Friday and found a fall bow for the front door and some cute to go coffee cups. I love having some of these on hand.

I also bought a set of tiny faux diamond earrings:

It was fun to see what was out for fall. I also inventoried my old fall decor, so I knew what I already had.

Friday night Tom and I had Mexican take out and watched some shows together:

Saturday, I needed a few things from Target and had a merchandise credit to use.

I loved these adorable sweater pumpkins in the dollar area…

and I loved these little ceramic pumpkins…

I brought this home:

The fox is because we have a neighborhood fox that I see regularly! I thought the pumpkins would look cute on one of my surfaces and I will save the jack o’lantern and spider tray to put out in October.

I am a big fan of Amylu and no, she is not me. I wish! My middle name is not even “Lou”. I grabbed these to try and they are really good! I think I will eat them for lunch, though. I’m such a rebel.

I finished this. It was far-fetched but a cute read. She says in her author’s note that she was trying to write something in the vein of “Love Actually” where people cross paths in Paris.

Next up is:

Saturday, we went to an outdoor concert at a nearby neighborhood. Our friends joined us and we had a nice time.

I walked down to this cute indoor/outdoor bar and got a frozen rosé or a frosé.

We grabbed some food from Waldo’s Chicken and Beer. I got their salad.

Sunday I am not sure what happened, but I slept in until almost 8! I felt a bit out of sorts from sleeping so late for me, but it was a beautiful morning!

We had plans to do a boat brunch with our friends and we did:

We also got to help our niece Morgan celebrate her engagement that happened that morning!

Fashion Files is tomorrow! I hope you will join in!

This Wednesday, September 2 is our next Currently and the themes are: Adjusting (to), Baking/Cooking, Decorating, Balancing, and Learning. Grab Tanya’s cute graphic if you like and if you also participate in Joyce’s Hodgepodge!

Did you see my Saturday post? I did a Share 4 Somethings if you missed it.

Tell me something you did this weekend!

Amy

  1. Congrats to your niece! Your weekend looks like a good one- I’ll bet being on the water felt good. I assume you guys are in for hot weather this week like we are? Summer ain’t goin’ without a fight!! Cute fall decor- I am looking forward to decorating and it looks like you’re starting to think about your decor for the (upcoming) season as well.

    1. Thank you! It’s hard to believe she is old enough. She was our first niece and we adored/adore her. I wasn’t paying attention and got a rude humid awakening going to the gym just now. Sounds like it! Thank you! I love fall decor. I know you are a Christmas girly. I’m both but really enjoy the fall decor.

  2. What a great weekend! I slept in until 7:30, which was super late for me, too. That is so needed every once in a while; you had an emotional week last week and you were probably worn out emotionally. Congrats to your niece! How exciting to think of an upcoming wedding! I love the new stack of books. I’m ready for some books that feel like fall! Happy Monday to you, my friend!

    1. It was! That’s great; I know how tired you must be physically and emotionally. Mine is small potatoes. Thank you! I know! I was wondering if it would happen soon. I do, too! It’s got a bit of everything. Same to you! Cold call me any day!

Those breakfast bites look so good, I’ll have to find those in our store.

Glad you had lunch with Jack. Hope you get to do more of that!

Your boat brunch looks like the perfect Sunday activity!

    1. Thank you!
I have only seen the bites at Target and by the way, Target has some great clean food products now.
      I hope so, too.
It was really nice and then I came home and was good for nothing else!

  4. Looks like you had a wonderful weekend. We celebrated my father in law’s 91st birthday on Sat and then saw my parents on Sunday. I am slowly working my way through all the books in my nightstand. The one I am getting ready to start is called Think Like a Dog. A friend gave me the book months ago. Those Amylou bites look good 😋 I will have to check them out at Target.

  5. I love how you connect with Tom in the small things of marriage, dog, home life. Sometimes, I think it’s what causes failure and disconnect. Kudos to you and him.

  6. I find a lot of the books I read through blogs, that looks like a good to read pile. Those tacos look good and that looks a nice place to walk Eddie Otis. I am planning a visit to TK Maxx just to see what seasonal things they have in. The concert looks like fun and so does the boat brunch! Congrats to your niece on her engagement!

  8. My mother-in-law had surgery last week, and I have been trying to do a few things to care for her. On Sunday, after I took her on an errand, my husband suggested that I could stay in the shopping area for a while if I wanted. I ended up with the best haul from Marshalls, and I, too, decided to get some cute Fall to go cups! I also got some fun fall towels for our kitchen, and a new pair of sneakers. I, like you, use blogs to get ideas to read, watch, buy, etc.…:)

Looks like you had a fabulous weekend! Congratulations on your nieces engagement 🙂
