I’m just going to change the name of my Fashion Files post to “My White Blouse”. OMG! You all are going to stop reading!

I warned you…

White blouse from J.Crew Factory, Halara jeans, cork Aerosoles heels, consignment clutch:

White blouse with patterned pants, straw consignment clutch, and gold flat sandals.

The jeans and the patterned pants just returned from tailor and I wore them right away! I got the zipper fixed in the jeans (needed a new zipper pull) and a little tear fixed in the pants.

I wasn’t looking to buy, but all summer long I have lamented not having white linen pants. Kristin shared the Target version and I trust her recommendations. Bonus was that the pants were on sale from $30 to $21. Bonus bonus was that they came in short length! I ordered the white, the black, and the brown polka dot (swoon!). Unfortunately, I think the price is back to $30, but there is a teacher discount of 20% until September and maybe they will go on sale again.

Here are the white: I do think they run TTS. They are a little thin but good quality.

The polka dot seemed to run bigger, and I have ordered a size down to compare; they should be here in a couple of days and I will let you know next week. I feel like you often need to size up in white pants, but I find it very frustrating when the sizes are not standard from one colorway to another. See how the short is still a bit long?

I also ordered the black. I know these pants are linen, but I feel like they can be worn after Labor Day just fine. These are the black. They also fit like the white:

I had been wanting this type of sandal. I’m still testing them out.

I will let you know if I keep them!

I pulled lots of my gauze from my closet as I am over it. I kept a couple of tops in my rotation, but I put the gauze shorts in a drawer with some other summer things I don’t want to get rid of, but I also don’t want to wear anymore this season. Did I go in too hard on the gauze? Perhaps.

I totally cleaned my closet this past weekend. I did the floor, washed the rug, went through tote bags and handbags, and it was great. This is the best shopping deterrent there is – to organize what you have and see how much you have!

I am so happy; I sent my sister Molly these jeans and they arrived on her very birthday, and she wore them to school the next day (first grade teacher) and she said she loved them, they fit perfectly, and they are so comfy. I followed the size chart and ordered short for her even though she is 5’6. I feel like Halara still runs long. Am I going to make a Halara fan out of her? We shall she. Do you remember that I sent Halara jeans to my other sister for her birthday in March?

  1. It is odd that the polka dot ones are sized differently than the solid colored ones. You’ve gotten a lot of good use out of the white blouse! It’s so pretty and versatile. Thanks for the link up!

    1. I know! Oh well. Sometimes I buy two sizes to compare and I should have done that this time but I am patiently waiting for the size down to see. I really have.

  2. I’m sorry, but “My White Blouse” is absolutely a series I would subscribe to. 😂 And I love that “I wasn’t looking to buy” somehow resulted in THREE pairs of linen pants!

  3. Love the outfits and the pants, especially the brown and white polka dot! Are they pull on? I always love pants like this on other people, but then never on myself. Why???

    1. They are pull on! I think you have to experiment with different tops and shoes and maybe it’s just a matter of getting used to wearing something new to you? I feel like they would look great with white button up!

  4. I’ve embraced the loose breezy fit of summer pants this year. I find them cool and comfortable. The linen is pretty! I bought the white blouse but haven’t worn it yet. I will soon though! I was looking at my white tops and have a couple to remove from my closet. I’ve purchased a couple of things for fall, but honestly its so ridiculously hot here it’s hard to get in the mindset, even the colors feel a bit off. I haven’t tried Halara but need some jeans. I am 5’4 but have long legs so now am wondering about sizing? I need to investigate. I get a stitch fix box in a couple of weeks and told the stylist I want jeans so will see if she sends something before I order. Have a great day!

    1. They really are cool and comfortable! Oh good! I hope you like it, too. I feel like the sleeve ruffles can get a bit out of control and I can’t figure out how to iron them. White doesn’t last as long as other colors without getting worn looking. I am also 5’4. You should go with extra short if you do the wide leg. I would get elastic waist and then you can adjust where it sits on your waist and that will help the long legs, perhaps. I also can’t see you wearing super high heels with them so extra short might be the way to go. I thought you were much taller so I guess you really do have long legs! The extra short doesn’t come in every style. They are so comfy and all I want to wear now.
Here are the style I have:

  5. That white blouse is very cute and it goes so well with everything! Those pants look great on you, I am not brave enough to wear white as I attract dirt but I could happily wear the brown ones.

  6. Okay – you’ve inspired me to get busy and clean out my own closet! I’m so impressed that you got it done so quickly! Good for you! Thanks for sharing the link for the linen pants, too! The polka dot ones are so cute!

    1. Go for it! It feels so good. I had already pared things down so it wasn’t a big deal. I also have 3 empty closets I can spread my stuff out to right now. I am going to make an early fall capsule.
The polka dots had my heart! I have nothing polka dot right now and I think it’s on trend and the brown is definitely on trend.

  7. Hi Amy!
I have that Target outfit with the brown polka dots but I have the shorts and tank that matched. I have not worn it yet, I bought it for our vacation. And those sandles are so cute and exactly what I’m looking for. Where did you get them?
    Thanks!
    Cheers! Missy

  8. I had to laugh at your alternate title! But, when you like something, you like it! I love a good white tee and have several. They’re different styles, though. I do love my Old Navy linen pants and usually buy a pair each season if they’re a different color. I’m ready to do a huge purge of my closet and drawers just because I have so much. I should do the Buy Nothing page on Facebook. I’ll be curious to see what you think of those sandals.

    1. White tees are also so important! I have had ON linen pants in the past. They are great. A purge feels so good! The sandals are not super comfortable. I am still debating.

  9. That is so true that organizing and cleaning the things you already have is a good deterant to shopping! I laughed when you were talking about the gauze. 😀

  10. All of these are so cute and what a great deal for $21! I wore white jeans yesterday to work. I love a white pant. You are spreading the love of Halara! I still have a few pair & hope I can wear them this winter.

  11. I really like the polka dot pants! I bought white and also a tan pair of linen pants last year from Old Navy and they make the rotation every couple of weeks in my outfits. Currently wearing my white pair. I do love your white blouses! I have a post coming up with 2 date night looks and a fun white top is what I find pairs well with unique bottoms.
