How was your week? We had some awesome weather after I complained about our weekend weather – lol. It’s time to link up with Andrea and Erika to share some of my favorites and I’d love to hear yours, too.
One of our local news stations posted this so I’m not just being grumpy – it was the 7th wettest summer since 1872!

I had to laugh at my little blogging buddy:

I’m not a big sock in the summer person, but I find myself reaching for these thin ruffle socks this summer. I really like them.

I finished this book this week and really enjoyed the story! Check it out if you like stories set in Paris. I think it was loosely tied to the stories of Hunchback of Notre Dame/Beauty and the Beast, too.

Then, I started and finished this little story this week. It involves Nashville country music singers and songwriters so that is kind of fun. It was pretty spicy.

Then, I picked up a new stack from the library this week:

Not favorites…
I couldn’t get into this. Maybe I should have seen it when it was in the theater?

I couldn’t get into this, either…

Both were free on HULU, so NBD. Should I try them again? Sometimes you have to be in a certain mood!
I really like this brand of hand sanitizer and spraying rather than squirting.

Not a favorite. Twizzlers forever. I threw these away.

I loved Old Navy’s spring and summer stuff, but this week I went in just because I was next door and I hate their fall stuff. Maybe online will be different, but the in-store stuff just looked horrible to me. I guess that saves me money!

I was next door in the Kohl’s Sephora looking for a certain product. They didn’t have it – boo. Is Kohl’s where middle aged women’s dreams go to die? That store makes me sad. No offense to anyone who has a fat stack of Kohl’s cash.
I picked one of my two hydrangea blooms to bring inside. I felt a bit bad, but it’s a bloom I can’t see from my yard. I have to go outside my fence to see it.

We’ve had some good walks this week. Tom bought this new harness, and it looks like he is a support dog. He also picked the patch with “Mama says I’m special” so that is weird. I honestly think I’m EO’s support human when Tom isn’t around. He is so nervous. He got scared of someone’s pig lawn ornament.

I surprised Tom with his very own personal pan pizza for dinner one night this week. He smiled and enjoyed it.

Eddie Otis and I had a field trip to Mason’s leathergoods shop. It is dog friendly. I would give EO a B-. He licked some leather but didn’t try to steal anything. They have dog treats and a water bowl for dogs.

I made Ted Lasso “biscuits” for Wednesday night’s premiere of the new season. They are shortbread and delish.

We have a new Chipotle with a “Chipotlane” which is their term for drive thru. I ordered it and picked it up and it was very efficient.

I got a kid’s meal for me and a bowl for Tom and we could have just split the bowl easily. I have only had Chipotle two times now!

Who is ready for a PSL?

I might go on that very day just because I can! I also plan to buy the Chobani pumpkin creamer soon.
I loved this:

I am definitely “normal maxxing”. I think social media is so bad because people forget what “normal” is. People feel less than when they can’t “keep up” and it’s not normal what we see on the social medias. I am proud of myself for eating leftovers and using them up. I have had zero packages arrive this week! I am going to have to disagree on the reading one book a month is plenty. Hehe.
EO and I have a friend named Skyler. She knows that I have treats in my pouch.

This face:

And, finally yesterday I had a big day to celebrate my district’s first day of school. I took myself to Con Huevos (where I also went last year):

I ran into a college friend there which was fun!

I had a happy hour with a former student which was quite perfect for this day’s plans, too.

We had goat cheese and…

cocktails with dry ice!

How fun!
What was a favorite of yours this week?
Amy
Amy, I love your Friday Favorites posts! π
You’re so funny celebrating the first day of school! I For me a new school year is just around the corner… Like you, I’ve always felt that August is the real New Year.
Your hydrangea bloom is beautiful! I probably would have felt guilty cutting it too, but at least now you get to enjoy it indoors. π
Your pictures of EO always make me laugh! “Mama says I’m special” is the perfect patch for him.
And yes… I’m definitely ready for pumpkin season, even if it’s still a little early. We don’t have Pumpkin Spice Lattes everywhere in Sweden, so they’re a bit of a treat when I travel to the US.
Have a wonderful weekend, and good luck surviving all the back-to-school traffic!

Thank you! It’s always so random! I am loving looking at my bloom so I have gotten over it.
I like to celebrate apples, too! Yum!
Thank you! It’s an adjustment!

As a multiple plant mama due to my garden areas, I’d love a rainier than normal summer (I’m curious as to ours now- I think we’re above average for rain in a summer but I’m not certain). Chipotle was the restaurant of my kids’ activities running around years. We ate SO MUCH Chipotle- the food actually reminds me of that era since I don’t eat it nearly as often as I once did. I hope you liked yours! Agree about Red Vines vs. Twizzlers. I threw my last pack of Red Vines away as well. Have a great weekend!

Yes! I like summer rain. I have had very few of those satisfying nice rains where I can be on the covered porch and listen to it. I would like some of those.
I have only been to Chipotle twice I think because we are a Qdoba fam. We had one very close and we think it’s better, too. Neither Tom nor I was impressed with our Chipotle this week and that’s sad since it’s so close. Maybe we need to try some different things. Tom likes my homemade burrito bowl better than Qdoba but we do like their queso an awful lot! Now I am craving Twizzlers. You too!

Oh gosh I can’t even keep leftovers in this house. I’m sure by the time I walk downstairs at 6:30 to head to the gym all the leftovers from dinner last night will be gone. The only time they DON’T go is when I make something like pasta primavera that the boys won’t eat because there are “too many veggies” in it. Weirdly they didn’t mind all the veggies in the fried rice though. Your hydrangea bloom is beautiful!

That sign is hysterical! Yes give Prada 2 another try. We did see it in the theater and really enjoyed it even more than the 1st one.

I agree about Kohl’s, ugh, it is sad. I haven’t been to ON lately, last time was when we were in Maine and it was way too hot to think of fall.
I love your first day of school ritual!
Have the best weekend!

It really is a sad store. I was really turned off by ON and I would like to not shop there anymore to be honest. I kept getting pulled back in by their dupes for more expensive brands and the quality, style, and sizing.
Thank you and you, too!

I’m glad you had such a great week! I love that you took EO on a field trip to see Mason. I’m sure they both loved that! The cocktail with dry ice looks interesting…I always thought that was bad for you, though? I’m not sure if I have that confused with something else. I hope you enjoy the Friday and weekend, my friend!

i cannot agree more about Kohls. At one point I was a loyal customer. Not so much anymore. I am a big fan of Old Navy graphic tees. But as you said not a good fall selection. Have a great weekend.

A friend of mine loves Red Vines and hates Twizzlers π I have to be careful I buy the right ones for her. π I love the clothes at Old Navy right now. I have bought mostly tops and I see several cardigans I like. My husband loves Pizza Hut but I am not a fan. It’s just too greasy for me so maybe I should buy him his own personal pan pizza!

Oh the Red Vines were so bad!
Maybe itβs my style or my old navy. I should look online.
Tom and I both commented how less greasy our pp pizzas were!
