We are all thinking it and most of us are saying it, so I will, too…Where did June go? Was that a quick month or what?
Let’s link up with Sarah and Holly for a little weekend recap!
Rain, rain go away was the theme of our weekend. It rained and stormed a lot this weekend.

I had a really fun week last week and had a lot to tell you in Friday Favorites and didn’t want to make it any longer, so I am going to start with Wednesday night as part of my weekend recap!
Tom came home from work and we got our little boy (Eddie Otis) ready for an outing. We took him to a dog friendly beer garden and he did so well! He didn’t bark once. There were sooooo many dogs, too. Our friend Michael got the opportunity to play in this super cool venue and the weather was divine. Michael also played on the bar on the river on Sunday.

We even ate dinner there. They have really good food. Tom had a bacon jam burger, and I had a grilled chicken sandwich.
Thursday night we had to leave EO at home, but we went to hear our former favorite band/musical group. They had to disband (lol) a few years ago because a member moved away. I forgot how good they are. They play Beatles, Eagles, Van Morrison, and so much more. You know all the songs. It was raining but they had a covered porch area. My favorite song they played was Into the Mystic by Van Morrison. If you don’t know it, listen to it!

And, finally to end our trifecta of music, was this up-and-coming Nashville singer/songwriter Katrina Burgoyne. She is Australian and came here with a guitar and a dream. She plays locally twice a month and our friends befriended her and invited her to play in their basement for a group of friends. It was supposed to be a pool party, but rain.

They catered bbq and sides. It was so nice.

Saturday morning dawned and it looked like this after raining and storming all night.

Tom still took Eddie Otis on his “Saturday with Daddy” outing and I did laundry, floors, general cleaning, and then I did this:

I have a new stack of library books and I’m having trouble deciding what to start!

This sounded interesting; a woman goes a year without buying clothing. I have read a couple of books with this same experience. Here I am patting myself on the back for going 3 weeks!

Tom and Eddie Otis returned around 11:30 and I made us everything bagel bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches for brunch. I keep bagels in the freezer. My favorite are from Whole Foods.

The sun appeared and I rushed out!

Mason returned from NYC late Wednesday night and then had to work every day until Saturday late afternoon when we finally got to hear about his trip in person and see his photos! We took him to a Korean bbq place.

I got a “Seoul Bowl” and it was really good. It had rice, chicken, carrots, kale, cucumber, and a spicy sauce.

We always give Mason our leftovers because he can get a few more meals out of them and love leftovers. I miss having him in the house for leftover eating!
We saved room for gelato!

I got cake batter flavor and Mason got tiramisu and Tom got chocolate and chocolate orange.

We noticed a “record tree” near our car.

We came home and someone missed someone. It’s just getting so comical because of EO’s size.

My sister told me to watch this:

So well done! It will make you cry but it’s worth it.
It made me go back and watch this again – I think. I think I had already watched it. Zoey Deutch is really a good actress.

And, Tanya recommended this and oh my goodness – I am loving it. I also need to go back to The Other Bennett Sister because they dropped more episodes.

Summer tv seems so good this year. Sometimes I feel like it’s lacking but there is so much (too much) out there to watch right now.
Reminders!
Tomorrow is Fashion Files! Do you have any red, white, and blue clothing you plan to wear? I usually just pick two of the colors so I don’t look too costumey!
Wednesday is the July Currently and here are the prompts: Sparkling, Grilling/Cooking, Heating up, Using, and Celebrating. I was trying to be kind of July-themed and creative, but feel free to interpret them as you wish. It’s a fun link up!

It looks like a nice weekend! How nice to support local musicians. We got a lot of rain, too, I think. We were all gone over the weekend but I know it was in the forecast. However, the ground didn’t seem too saturated when we got home. I’ll have to text a neighbor and ask…

Despite the rain you had a lot of fun! We’ve had rain but mostly only at night or early in the morning so it’s been rather perfect. I think I’ll be wishing for rain as we head into a major heatwave this week.

Yes! OH, that’s nice! The rain just left us with some major humidity. The gym windows were fogged up!

You had a very full entire week from the time we arrived there Thursday night until Sunday. What a fun time, though! I love that you listened to all of that music over the course of just a few days. I love the picture of Tom and Mason looking at his NYC photos…I’m sure it was fun hearing about his trip. I hope he got all of his bucket list things checked off! I hope you have a great day, my friend! Let’s talk again this week!

The sun is shining here in Florida! 😀 I will wear my tank top with the American flag on it – that’ll do, right!?
How nice that Mason had a guide when he visited NYC! I think that’s necessary. I see the poor tourists milling around in Stockholm with no idea to go…!

Nice! Here, too! Yes, that should do it! I’m sorry I don’t have a Swedish flag tank top!
It worked out perfectly that he got alone time and time with Moritz. They got along perfectly once again and I was so happy!

I love that EO thinks he’s a lap dog 🤣 My niece’s German Shepherd is the same. Once she’s on your lap you’re not going anywhere!! 😂

Did you like The Summer We Ran? I read half of it last summer and didn’t care to finish it? Eh. So it goes!
I love Glen Powell. It’s ridiculous and I will watch anything he’s in…I definitely saw Set It Up.

June has flown over, it really was a quick month! We had a little rain on Saturday night but it was welcome here after a hot week. The beer garden sounds fab, especially with it being dog friendly. What a great few days of music. How wonderful to have a catch up with Mason and that record tree is so cool!

Eddie Otis is a handsome boy!! We had downpours a week ago – every day for quite a few days. I actually sat out in our courtyard a couple of times this weekend – soaking up a little Vitamin D! I just ordered two of the books from Amazon – love recommendations!

My book club is reading Calamity Club as our October selection so I’m holding off reading it for a while. I’ve heard it’s on the long side, but gets great reviews. We had lots of sunshine with a few vicious but short lived storms thrown in the mix. We watched Hail Mary Project last night and we both loved it. I loved the book but hubs hadn’t read it so it was all new to him. I love Korean BBQ and gelato both so that would have been a win for me. EO is livin’ the life lol. Our pup is so puny at the moment and making me sad. Hope you have a great week!

I love all the live music you got to hear – we need to find a local band to follow around and enjoy. I think that is so much fun!
EO is so funny, he really thinks he’s a lap dog!

It looks like such a fun weekend, especially all the live music! You have some great books lined up. Ha – I don’t remember recommending that show, but I bet it’s good. We don’t have britbox right now. We just watched I Will Find You on Netflix – loved it and binged all episodes in one night!! Have a good week!

I wonder who recommended? Ha! There are only 2 episodes! I started Calamity Club!

I do know that Van Morrison song! Once upon a time, I had the CD. I love hearing live music and need to do that more. Eddie Otis is such a good dog. I always love to see him and Tom together. I always send leftovers home with my kids because I get sick of leftovers all the time. I still am not good at cooking for just two. I really want to go see a movie at a theater, but I don’t know of any movies that I would pay money to see! I need to get my Currently post written now!

Looks like a nice few days! I bet you loved some time with Mason. How fun to experience NYC through his eyes. I added the movie to my Netflix list. I’m trying to watch a few more movies this summer (rather than just series)
