How was your weekend? Let’s link up with Holly and Sarah to share. Also, Fashion Files is tomorrow and we’d love for you to join us!

Thursday was a fun day spent with Mason and then Jack popped in later, too!

I made Hot Browns for dinner and they turned out pretty good!

I started this…

I finished this and posted on Instagram and Sally Hepworth shared my post!

This is a great story; I read it in three days or so. Sally does it again. Theo of Golden was also a great story but it could have been cut by at least 1/3. Sally does it right.

I picked up Mexican for our Friday night dinner. We split a meal and had no leftovers just like I like it!

Saturday at the river, River was manning the counter at the boat supply store.

It poured rain and it stormed Saturday morning, then got hot and sunny and muggy, then it rained and stormed more around dinner. The day was a wash.

I made myself a Wild Strawberry Crystal Light. Pretty good.

I started this. The author repeats herself and I don’t love her writing style but I do like the story.

I made a skinny margarita for the sunny part of the day…

Tom wanted to go shoe shopping and I wanted to go with him. This guy is a slooowwwwwww shopper. 1.5 hours later.

I made him test the “moutain”.

Update: look at this aerial church photo I saw on Saturday. Thank you so much for your sweet words.

Something that filled my cup, though…I taught most of these dudes who are all traveling through Europe together. They are in Barcelona in this photo. Some of them have been sending me messages.

I have another girl coming home from her semester in Spain soon and we are going to get together!

It was warm Sunday morning so I was able to sit outside.

Then, it finally happened…Maiden Voyage 2026 with…

First Mate Eddie Otis!

He kept jumping in and swimming after we got his ladder out.

He did so well!

It was really a treat!

Tell me something about your weekend!

Amy

  1. It looks like a nice weekend! We had rain as well on Saturday but I didn´t mind it too much- gotta keep the green things green but it was a bummer for our school´s graduates (though it had stopped by the end of our school´s). That shoe mountain! So funny! I´d go bonkers after one point five hours. Was that at one store?? You deserve an award! How fun to take the boat out. Have a great Monday!

  2. Yay for getting the boat out on the water! We finally pulled out our patio/deck furniture this weekend. I’m waiting rather impatiently for Mad Mabel to come in at our library… though I think I’m #43 in line so it will probably be a long while.

    1. It felt like summer! Yay! I’m so glad you did that. I know you also love eating meals and reading outside.
I think you will really enjoy it. Sometimes I go in the library and find one of my requests on the 7 day new release shelf. Also, you can request large print. I sometimes feel bad about that but I read fast. And, I do honestly need large print for my natural eyes!

  3. What a lovely weekend, and yay for the maiden voyage! I love that EO jumps in the lake to swim. What a great little boat buddy! Your drinks look and sound delicious…I need to get the stuff to make my own skinny margs again. It’s been a while! I hope you have a great Monday!

    1. Thank you! I was like a proud mama that he figured out how to jump in and get back on the boat pretty quickly.
I was just thinking you need a summer supplies list and I have a post coming Thursday! Wouldn’t that be a fun way to treat yourself and celebrate your accomplishments?

  4. I just put that Sally Hepworth book on hold at my library – it looks like they no longer do home delivery! I am so bummed but understand. Anyway, hopefully I will eventually get the book, so cool that Sally Hepworth shared your post!

    Yay for boating season!

    1. Shoot! Maybe it will be a good thing to get out at the end of the work day for your mental health?
      It’s such a good story.
I was excited that she saw it!

  6. Those Hot Browns look so good and I have heard good things about that Mad Mabel book. How great that your former students are keeping in touch and to get out on the boat!

  7. I think our Memorial Day weekend might be a wash, but we’ll see. We need the rain so I guess we shouldn’t complain. Nothing wears our dog out like swimming. If he’s on the boat he spends the whole time trying to make his escape into the lake : ) He mostly just swims off the dock which is better for everyone’s sense of relaxation. I haven’t read Mad Mabel yet. I have such a stack of books currently I need to get to/finish. Have a great week!

  8. That’s so sad about your church ☹️ I hope they can rebuild if possible. I need to get back to reading. I have a drawer full of books in my bedroom waiting to be read!

  9. Aloha from Maui!! We had our club pro get us a reciprocal at the King Kamehameha Country Club and played golf on Saturday. Such a beautiful course. I said I’d play it again this week. We read – enjoyed a few games of spinner and shopped. It’s been a fun 6 days in Maui and we still get another week! My hubby turns 70 today! Wow. I guess it’s not so bad since he’s happy to be in Maui! Happy Monday!

  10. I loved the boat pictures, and thought that must be a special ladder for him to get in and out. How cool! I’m glad you liked Mad Mabel and I agree about the length of Theo. I have never read a Jane Green book. Hope you have a good week!
