Hello and welcome to another edition of Fashion Files with myself and Marsha.
I have not done too well with outfits over the past week! I have not been “getting dressed” some days like I would prefer.
On Monday, I threw this on for an errand. I have on my new Aerie cut offs, my last year’s Aerie Maine lobsta sweatshirt and my old gold Birks. I am not Aerie’s demographic, but I am so pleased with the quality of their stuff. It washes well and feels good on.

I wore this for a rainy afternoon of Mah Jong at my friend’s house. I can’t decide if I should capitalize the name of the game and if I need more h’s or more g’s. Lol. These are my Amazon jeans, my Hari Mari flip flops from last year and an Aerie button up! This post is not sponsored by Aerie.
Let’s talk about the Hari Mari flip flops. I wanted a good quality tan flip flop and I considered several different brands. These are such good quality and so comfortable. I can’t remember where I heard about them. I wear them every single day for at least part of the day.

I didn’t put on another real outfit until Friday when I was headed to the mall for Chicken Salad Chick and a couple of other stores. I wore my Free People red Mary Janes, my striped Halaras, and my Old Navy striped blouse.

I wore this to the Saturday farmer’s market. I thought it was going to rain but it never did. I have on my new Crocs Miami flip flops, old Umgee gauzy pants, new this season Target checked blouse, Amazon scalloped cardigan and a hat from Michigan that was Mason’s.

The Crocs Miami are fabulous!
Let’s talk about gauze. I like it better than linen because it doesn’t wrinkle like linen. I have a “camp” shirt up from Old Navy a few years ago in black, white, and hot pink. Here is the black:

I am wearing it with very old Target Universal thread olive drawstring shorts that are fabulous.
Remember when we talked about fast fashion? It ain’t fast when you keep something for 10 years!
I will say that your white pieces just usually don’t last as long because the get the pit stains and such. So, I usually have to say bye to white sooner.
I added another gauzy piece from Old Navy. I couldn’t find it in store; I ordered this online. Here I put it with the same olive shorts.

I also wore it with my Aerie cut offs:

I thought these graphic flat lays from The Good State on IG were so cute:

Let’s talk a little more about gauze! I have turquoise and orange gauze shorts with pockets from a local boutique. They were on sale! I have a green J.Crew dress from a consignment store that I wore a ton last summer!
The J.Crew kelly green gauze dress:

The white gauzy “camp” shirt:

The shorts are also Old Navy. They were on major clearance a few years ago and I love lime green.
Here are the gauzy boutique shorts that I also have in orange:

I introduced my friend Beth to gauze last year and she is a gauzy girl now, too!
What have you been wearing lately?

I love that someone on IG has created a “Farmers Market Girl” aesthetic. I love capitalism, truly I do!! I touched on democracy in my post (both big D and little- it will make sense when you read my post!) The ways to earn money are seemingly endless and I am impressed by people’s ingenuity! I want to create a “The Sub Who’s Hanging on by a Thread” aesthetic, lol! I really do like a lot of the FMG’s looks. Not sure if the TSWHOBAT would gain much traction!! I like all of your outfits- I have never really thought about gauze before but you are right. It doesn’t wrinkle like linen and is a great light material. Thanks for the link up!

I know! I have things that would work for each of those “vibes” so I personally wouldn’t go buy but others would. I know that aesthetic. Did you find out if you will end your sub job early? Gauze is pretty forgiving, too!

I like gauze too; I have quite a few gauze shirts and bottoms.

It’s a great forgiving fabric and can hide lumps and bumps, too.

I wonder about Mah Jong too – I guess the M & J get capitalized? I keep doing it. Glad you like your crocs so much – they will come in handy.
Those farmer’s market outfit ideas are so cute!
Love that vibrant green gauze dress!

I feel like I type it a different way each time.
Some of the Crocs look really nice and you would never know they were Crocs.
I love talented people who can do those IG flat lays.
It’s KD green!

I love your quote, “it aint’ fast fashion if you’ve had it for 10 years!” Lol! I agree and have several inexpensive items in my closet that have lasted. I need to get more gauze in my closet. Love that pretty kimono! Thanks so much for the link up.

Someone else talked about that and it was a major epiphany for me. All the gauze! That is the only kimono I kept. The trend started to seem outdated to me. But, that one had to be repaired because I got it stuck in my jeans zipper at school and was trapped in the bathroom!

I have a gauze dress, but gauze pants would really be nice too. You always look so cute!

Ooh, I love all your yellows and greens and that final outfit is my absolute favorite! Flowy toppers are totally my jam and those big strap brown sandals are so cute. I also really like your gold Birkies. I want to add another pair of Birkenstocks to my shoe wardrobe but I can never decide which color to get. Your new Crocs sandals are really cute, too. But I cannot wear anything between my toes like that. My feet are too sensitive and it hurts but they sure are adorable on you. Thanks for hosting this fun fashion party!

Thank you! I am a fan of yellows and greens, too! That is my only kimono I kept since I went in so hard on that trend for so long but it’s not really a trend – it’s a classic boho staple. I have worn those brown sandals so much! Thank you! I know – some people can’t do the toe thing. I was surprised I could.
Thank you for joining in on the fun!
