New Marshall’s top and I wore basically this exact outfit 3 times over the last couple of weeks!

Exciting Announcement: The Fashion Files link up with be starting back up but on Tuesdays. We will start next Tuesday, April 21. I will open the link up at 4 am and keep it open until the following Monday at midnight. Gosh, I hope I don’t forget! Ha!

You can show one outfit you’ve worn or multiple outfits you’ve worn. You can talk about clothing, shoes, accessories, undergarments, swimwear, brands you stand by, thrifting, online shopping, in person shopping – whatever you want to talk about that involves fashion.

The credit goes to Marsha who will be hosting with me. She had the idea and approached Kellyann and Jill, former hosts. They were ok with the resurrection of the link up. Thanks, gals!

The why: We all have to get dressed and we all should feel good about it! We don’t all have the same style but sharing what we’ve worn might inspire others. Even if you don’t consider yourself fashionable, you should consider linking up. Taking outfit pictures daily (or on the days I put an outfit on) has helped me to become a better dresser and shopper!

I would love to see some of my blogger friends link up who don’t normally talk fashion. Come on!

My schedule will still be: Hello Monday, Wednesday Hodgepodge, and Friday Favorites. Now I will do Fashion Files on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be my “wild card” day where I talk about whatever floats my boat that week.

After lots of outfits and going out last week, I don’t have as many outfits this week.

I am still trying to figure out my retirement wardrobe. So far that has meant more jeans and less pants. I have more freedom in my footwear!

I wore this last week for an early morning errand. You can’t see from the photo, but these are my Land’s End track pants. I sized down and should have sized down another. I wore my Adidas Sambas (I have gotten my money’s worth), an Old Navy plain white tee, and my Aerie white button up.

I wore this for mah jong on my patio followed by a casual pizza dinner out. I have on my straight leg Halaras, Kork-Ease sandals, and my Umgee yellow and green floral blouse.

This week I checked out two little boutiques and left empty handed. One wasn’t really my style and the other had mostly accessories. Yes, I love to shop, but I have definitely become a more discerning shopper!

I need to try on my dresses and my two fascinators. I have a peach fascinator and a white fascinator. I am going to Churchill Downs in a couple of weeks. I have a long sleeve dress option if it’s cooler out and some short sleeve options.

Churchill Downs in the 90s when we didn’t worry so much about headgear:

These are my Heather besties from college. I’m in the middle and I think I got my dress from Kohl’s. I loved the mod print of the dress.

I’m also choosing flat sandals for the day because comfort, you know?

Back to everyday wear, I am still loving my Old Navy blouses and it’s time to use my Old Navy cash on Sunday. I think I will order the green “set” like my magenta set and another blouse.

The magenta set:

This runs big. I sized down one in the shorts. I think I will size down in the hoodie with my next set.

I’m thinking about getting the peach version of this navy blouse:

I need to wear my new espadrille wedges from Spain (via TJ Maxx – lol!) but they do look a bit too summery for now maybe?

And I’m excited to carry my new farmer’s market bag:

I am a bit intrigued by the Old Navy Devil Wears Prada collab but I probably won’t get anything:

I still want gold flip flops, and I think I know what I will get. I’m loving jeans, blouse, metallic shoes. You can change up the jeans for jean shorts or a jean skirt. Easy. Done.

What have you been wearing lately?

Anything on your fashion wish list?

I hope you will link up in just four days time – next Tuesday, April 21. Just look at my amateur mirror photos. That’s about all I can manage!

Amy

  1. I’ve been wearing lots of summery things because overnight our weather went into the mid-80’s so I’ve had my flip flops out, my short sleeve blouses, the lightest weight pants I could find. But I do think it’s supposed to be back in the 40’s and 50’s this weekend so I’m not switching out my clothes completely just yet.

  2. That’s cool about the new link up! I will definitely plan to link up occasionally, perhaps more often than that. I never used to show/blog about outfits that I wear but in the past couple of years have begun to do that on occasion. Your outfits are all so cute! I love your new blouse and the throwback photo is great! Have a great day!

  3. I am excited for you and Marsha to revive the link up!

I want a pair of gold flip flops too. Looking to find a pair that will be comfortable and give me the look I want. I have been thinking I need to go visit some stores and see what they have in person, lately I have only been shopping in Walmart stores and sometimes Target.

That picture of you and the Heathers is so sweet!

    1. Thank you for allowing us! I am thinking about TKEES brand gold flip flops. I have not been in person shopping in a while! I need to go to two boutiques to see their dresses for Churchill Downs. I do have options but I like to look at the new season selections.
      Thank you!

  4. That’s exciting about the link-up! You wanted to host one, and now you host two! I love all the outfits from this week; the new espadrilles are great. I also love your new farmer’s market bag! Happy Thursday to you, my friend!

    1. Thank you! I know! But, now I am worried I won’t remember to schedule the Inlinkz!
Thank you! I might try to wear the espadrilles today to a “sitting situation”. Lol. I think it’s really a unique bag for only $20!
      You too!

  5. Hi Amy!!

you should wear more yellow. That first outfit looks really cute on you!
Your retirement outfits are so much better than mine. I’m in Fabletics leggings or Pink sweat outfits.

One thing I have noticed from shopping is 1/2 shirts. Seriously everything is cut in half. I don’t get it?
    Cheers!

    1. Thank you! I love yellow! I got a yellow pedi! Well, I am struggling this week with getting out of my dog walking clothes. I do need cuter athletic/lounge stuff.
I hate the 1/2 shirts. Did you see my Old Navy tip to order tall? I love that you can do that.

  6. I am always impressed with your fashion! Maybe I can share some fashion from time to time once I get settled in my new place. And maybe I should just say share what I wear instead of fashion, ha!

    1. Well, thank you! I hope you do. Will you have a nice full length mirror? Right – it’s just what we wear. I think people are getting hung up on the word “fashion”. I am not always fashionable at all!

  7. cute outfits! Since we are going to start a huge kitchen gut/remodel… Half bath remodel, and now my husband has added on his office… I have gone through and purged so many clothes and I’m trying to get better at switching up my outfits even if I am just here at the house packing up my kitchen. I saw the Old Navy Collab with Devil wears Prada 2 but I think they missed its mark on the hat and the bag. I think she says “that is all “I could be wrong… So correct me if I am, but I don’t think it’s “that’s all “so sadly I will not be purchasing either one of those items, lol I actually ran into the Gap factory yesterday because I had time to kill before our movie theater opened up to buy tickets for this weekend… But I have to say that Target has a much better selection for baby clothes then baby gap! And the baby gap factory is expensive! Even with the percentages off. I feel like my grandson is going to wear these clothes for such a short amount of time and that boy already has a ton of baby clothes lol have a great day!

    1. That is good to take the opportunity to clean out/purge. I feel like I need to do it each season. I googled and it said “That’s all” but Idk. I am not planning to buy anything so trendy.
I bought so many of my twin boys clothes from Target. I didn’t think Gap had that much better stuff. I liked to buy the same in two different colors. The quality of the Cat and Jack line was really good. We also had consignment shops and sales and I bought a lot that way, too. They go through clothes so fast at the beginning.
      You too!

  8. Your retirement wardrobe will continue to morph. I wear almost all jeans and various tops, with a dress to go to church. I definitely need to do a clean out though since there are things I haven’t worn in the past year or even several years. Your blogging calendar is full with the new link up!

    1. I think so. I still want to look pulled together and I really don’t want to run errands in dog walking clothes.
I still haven’t tried on dresses. I need to do that.
I know – I think it will be fun. I hope you will join. Packing posts would be great, too. You could share what you took to Nash/Ashe.

  9. Oh, I am excited about our new “old” link up! You will remember because I’ll remind you! Once again, you influenced me. I went into my ON store because I found three merchandise credits in my wallet. I went in to find the white blouse, but the only one they had in my size was the blue striped one. I also bought the smocked top midi skirt that perfectly matches it! Now, I have a quasi-dress. You are wiser than I am. It took me about five years to quit buying teacher clothes. Then, I went really the opposite way. These days, I’m a mix between jeans and a sweatshirt and dressing up for the museum. I think there’s really only one good boutique here. That’s probably good for my wallet as they always have cute things.

    1. The blue striped one is my fave! I didn’t know they had a matching skirt. Good job using your credit. The graphic tees really are lacking this season and be careful because the graphics are on the back. I messed up and bought two because they had them folded the wrong way and I thought they were on the front.
