It’s Friday! Let’s link up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites of the week.
Does it look like I went to the beach? Kinda? I did not. Monday and Tuesday were still pretty cool, but sunny. Wednesday morning dawned much warmer and sunny and I sent out a text to a friend and said, “Let’s pretend like the Ohio River is a different body of water?”
It was lovely! We both chose a lemon berry fizz cocktail and…

shared some spinach queso while enjoying the view and getting caught up. Many people had the same idea. I love patio season!
I loved their Easter decor, too!

Happy mail!

I am now the owner of a Mah Jong mat with carrying case,

walls/pushers for the tiles

and my mom’s vintage set that I kept is a Chinese mah jong set so it is missing the jokers which are my favorite tiles. So, I ordered an American set.
I went to Michael’s for this cute little bag to hold the tiles.

People spend hundreds of dollars on all the MJ stuff. My mat was $20 something, my walls were $20 something, and my tiles were $30 something. The bag was $12. I want to be able to play at places besides my home. Everything came from Amazon except for the tile pouch.
This cheese is really good and a really good price! I read about it somewhere and my Kroger had it. I was considering “White Chedda” for my rap name.

I decided to try gel instead of my press ons. I was going for a really pale pink and a short almond shape nail.

Meh, not so sure about it and one nail chipped two days later!

I don’t know how long I will do it – cause you get on the gel train and have to go in and get it changed every 3-4 weeks or so. I’m on another train – the Amish Friendship bread train. Every ten days I have to bake. How many trains can one lady take?

Here is Tom’s accomplishment from Sunday:

He built the gate into the fence and now he has to cut it and attach bolts so it will look like this:

Eddie Otis still keeps trying to “go out” the gate that isn’t cut yet.
Tom’s helper brought me a scrap. Isn’t that sweet?

When Tom is doing any outdoor project, EO is right there at his side. He never lays down. He is such a funny dog.
Jack gave me a new bird feeder for my birthday and I have been enjoying filling it up along with one other one I had. I did a Kroger pick up with a big bag of birdseed and the Kroger employee threw me off when he asked, “you got a bird?” I have lots of birds. I have nature’s birds.

My favorite chair, my favorite position, my favorite sun shining…ahhhhh

Leg makeup:

This is what I applied. It lasts for several days and I do shower.
None of my requests were coming in so I picked some chick lit fiction books solely based on covers:

EO turned 2 in February and I have seen some maturing. I am now leaving the hall bath door open and the primary bedroom door open. This is growth! I was trying to get out the door (we still crate him when we leave because he’s not that mature) and I found him back in bed. I was saying “come on; it’s time to take a break (which is what Tom came up with for his crate)” and look at this stinker:

Then he buried his head and went back to sleep:

Stink eye:

You all, Michael’s has no humans. There is not a single check out left for a human cashier. It was so weird.

Lemonade Mrs. Meyer’s for summer?

I have to be able to walk EO on a leash so I fitted him for a “bra”. It’s miraculous!

We will still do plenty of off leash time, too. Here are some views from our walks…

This is our friend Skyler:

EO sunbathing:

I got burned this week – oops.

I put out my minimal Easter decor…

I love asking Alexa to play Bridgerton music (playing as I type). I love “The Hyacinth” or the cover of the Charlixcx “360” song. Eddie Otis seems to like it to as evidenced by his cute little snoring right now.

Also, don’t forget Currently is next Wednesday! I will actually open the link Tuesday at 4 am if you want to join early.
Here are the prompts:

Cleaning (spring)
Eating and drinking

Cheers to the weekend!

I guess the NYT recently ran a story on the popularity of mah jong and it featured a picture of two *gasp* WHITE women playing the game and that was ire inducing to some people. (You can find anything anywhere apparently!). Regarding trains, you can be on one train with many different types of train cars :). I wonder if our Michaels is bereft of cashiers now. I haven’t been in ours for a while (HobLob is closer so I go there more often). EO is photogenic! Have a great Friday and weekend!

Haha! True about my trains. I don’t go to either often. I was looking for mah Jong stuff and decor. I wasn’t impressed with either section!
Thank you!

The Love Haters was cute. I just read that last month. I know our Michael’s always has at least one human on the register… luckily Evan hasn’t had to do that job yet. He mostly just stocks shelves and answers customer questions but you will see several humans in the store.

Oh good! Will read that next. I was wondering about his Michael’s. It just really shocked me!

It’s so sweet to see how devoted EO is – makes my heart happy, bless him!
I love patio weather too – right now is the perfect time to be outside and that window will end soon. I need to be out as much as possible.
Have the best weekend!

We are spending a lot of time together! I know – it is so fleeting. It has felt like May around here. Your window of spring is quite different. We are getting a cold front now but I will be excited to wear spring sweaters. Look at me having a good attitude!

I play mah jong every week, and also accidentally ended up teaching a huge group in my neighborhood to play too. We had a smaller group playing weekly and now have thirty! It’s popular but I enjoy it and have a set from Amazon, with a mat and cute carrying case. There are so many accessories and mah jong themed things right now. I have gel currently. I take frequent breaks from it and hadn’t had it in months, so will probably do gel again when this one comes off. This time it’s held up really well. Sometimes I feel like it wants to peel, but this one has been good. I’ve had it two weeks and it still looks good. Have a great weekend!

Dang! I have thought maybe I could teach it when I get a bit better. I don’t understand women who have multiple mats and tiles and then make “tablescapes” but maybe I am just not there yet!
The lady told me to get “builder gel” next time. She fixed my chipped nail yesterday and did a top coat on all of them so that was nice.

What a great week with lots of wonderful spring things! I love all the EO pictures and talk. He’s the sweetest baby, and that is huge growth that you can leave some rooms open now with him being two. I am so glad you have him around the house; imagine how bored you would be if that weren’t the case.
Did you get burned while you were reading outside this week? I hope to lay by a pool tomorrow to get some sun. I’m watching my friend’s dog while she’s gone with Jonah, so she invited me to enjoy lounging by the pool. Here’s to hoping that the weather is cooperative! I hope you have the best day and weekend, my friend! I hear we have some plans on the calendar to see you soon. How fun!

I know! We spend so much time together now. That’s why I talk about him so much.
Yes! I actually got burned on a cooler day but the sun was hot. So, be careful! Yesterday I put sunscreen on my arms and legs and it was so hot I needed my spray bottle.
That sounds like a perfect plan for you tomorrow!
I hope you do, too. It sounds like it! Your travel agent is on it, it seems!

Love, love love the Eddie Otis pictures. What a cutie! Wish our weather would decide what to do. Today a high of 70, tomorrow a high of 45.

I didn’t know you could get mah jong stuff so inexpensively! I went to Michael’s recently and there were people helping with the new check outs. Maybe the people are being replaced now.

It sounds like a lovely day on Wednesday! I love sitting outside with a drink and food when the weather is nice. Ohh! Your Mah Jong mat looks very fancy! Your nails do look pretty but it sounds like you press ons are easier to maintain. Eddie Otis looks like a great helper with the wood. hehehe I am not a fan of self check outs, I don’t get on with them.

I saw Vitamin String Quartet last month at the Paramount and recognize the shorter gentleman in front. They were amazing. Lots of popular tunes I didn’t recognize and lots I did. MahJong sounds intriguing to me. I need to find a games club.

I noticed that about Michael’s the last time I went. I think stores have to be careful about going too automated. I rarely go to Kroger because they usually have only one human checker and I don’t want to self-scan a whole cart of groceries. We leave Mollie out with no restrictions now when we leave. I worried when I left her home alone when I took Albie to the vet, but she was still good. Maybe she is an adult dog now! Hope you have a good weekend.

Your fence is beautiful which is a weird thing to say, I know! I would love to have a fenced in backyard so Jack could just run. He’d just eat the mulch, though! He is seven, but we crate him at night. Other than that, he’s out and about. Of course, I close lots of doors so he can’t eat the toilet paper (he just loves it). I never know what he’s going to eat though he’s only eaten one shoe. I haven’t been in the Michaels store here in Brownsburg often, but I did see they had the self checkouts. I know I’m not supposed to like them, but I do! I can check out so much faster, and if I don’t feel like talking to a human, I don’t have to do it. I remember the Amish bread and loving it at first. Then, you have so much and everyone is tired of it! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I’ll be there for Currently!

I too purchased my first mah jongg set this week. Just learning to play the game and I hope I can keep up-Lots of rules but I enjoy a challenge! I envy your weather, here in RI it’s been cold, not able to sit outside on the patio or on the beach but at least the 3 feet of snow melted and buds are on the trees. Your Eddie Otis is so sweet. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Do you pull EO off the bed and put him in his crate? We were locking our dogs in the bottom half of the house with a baby gate but they are usually sleeping when we leave in the morning and it was ridiculous to wake them up to move them? So they have free range now, as long as certain doors are closed, and it’s mostly working.
I love the nails but gel is a lot to keep up with!

No. I piddled around and waited for him to be ready. Lol. I guess he is in charge now. I know – not sure how long I will want to keep this up.
