Hello! How did it get to be March 9th so quickly? How was your weekend? We had a rainy, rainy week with a few thunderstorms mixed in and then another rainy day on Saturday. It’s going to be so green from all this rain! Let’s link up with Holly and Sarah to share.

On Thursday, I went to a busy area of town called The Highlands for a boutique opening. I first stopped at a new coffee shop called Lucia’s Cafecito and spoke Spanish with the darling owner. I had a really good iced coffee to go.

I met my friend Beth, and we checked out a French bakery (first time for me and I got carrot cake for Tom to go) and then went to the opening.

I made a “Spanish lunch” for my former student when I got home. She lived in Spain for a year as a teaching assistant and is subbing now. She was off on this day so it worked out. It was fun!

Eddie Otis took a little sunbath as the rain stopped and the sun came out.

We enjoyed our rainy walks. Thank goodness for my short rainboots. Our mudroom has lived up to its name lately.

Friday I took myself to a much needed pedicure.

I did a light pink.

I think an employee’s daughter is a Girl Scout. They just had all these boxes of GS cookies sitting outside on a bench. I love that we are pretty trusting around here. I did send Tom a photo saying “I know where you can get some Thin Mints” and he replied “Free Girl Scout cookies with every French tip” and it had me wondering how he knows that nail style.

It was so nice out Friday! I had to put on shorts!

I was feeling so lazy, but my friend Elizabeth wanted to go to the last day of this charcuterie place. They are moving to share a space with a distillery so they aren’t going out of business, but we really enjoyed this space.

She brought her very well-behaved dog named Banana who is a big cavapoo.

And mid-sentence photo of Mason who walked down after work and chatted with us for a bit – that was a nice treat!

Saturday was cleaning day. It was really nice for a bit and then the rain came again…

I read outside and inside when I got cold and then Mason came over. He practiced piano and then we did a grocery trip together. He has some crazy hard recipes he is making for the week. I tried not to say too much but I did say, “you need some easy to prepare things for when you are tired”. Then, we took him to Martini’s for dinner.

It was so nice to get to chat with him.

Sunday morning, I felt the time change and was discombobulated all day. I did finish this…

And, now I have read all the Sarah Adams books. A little cheesy, but cute.

Yes, I did take a break from Theo of Golden to read it!

Tom worked on the fence but then I took his helper with me…

to walk with Heather and Heather…

and then EO went to his first brewery. He did pretty well.

What a nice way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday!

What was the highlight of your weekend?

Amy

  1. I have that same Sarah Adams book available to pick up at my library (hopefully I’ll get there today!). That sounds like a lovely weekend. We had a date night out but gosh it was so darn cold and windy. It is supposed to be 60 and sunny today and I can not wait!

    1. It’s a little cheesy but cute. It’s the last one of the Rome, KY series with this being the last sister’s story. Nice! Sorry it was so cold, though. I hope you get to sit outside today!

  2. The rain boots are a must wear, here, too. We are getting somewhat of a reprieve from the rain but I was wearing them last week. Your weekend sounds nice! That charcuterie board looks really good. I love prettily presented food :). How kind to make a meal for a former student (I first typed in friend and then reread it and was like, I don’t think she’s a former friend!!- It’s real early what can I say). Yesterday was weird for me sleep wise, too, and the time change is not helping one bit. Have a great day!

    1. I reach for my short black ones all the time but never wear my long ones anymore. It was! The charcuterie is pricey but really good. I do, too. It was fun to make that Spanish food for her.
Me too – I was out of it yesterday and not ready to get up today!

  3. You have such cute places near you, I love all the character. I bet EO will now be making the rounds of all the breweries in your area!

    I got a mani-pedi yesterday – finally and I started reading Culpability!

    1. We really do! He might be!
Such a good feeling to get that done and see nicer looking digits!
I hope you like the book; it’s very different from anything I’ve ever read I would say.

  4. What a great weekend! I’m glad you had some sunshine amidst the rain. Look at your big boy EO being so good in public! My weekend was good, and pretty chill, but I spent it all with Chris. It’s my favorite way to spend a weekend these days!

    1. Me too – thank you! Friday and Sunday were amazing. I know – it was touch a go for a bit but he didn’t bark or growl much.
I feel like you really need a chill weekend these days. The weeks are so busy and full. Yay!

  5. I love my rain boots. I have a pair of tall ones too but never wear them. We were supposed to have rain all weekend but it ended up being pretty nice, and just a big overnight rain. We hit 80 degrees which was fabulous. Looks like you managed a lot of time outside in spite of the weather. March is always tricky. Hope you have a great week!

    1. Same! The tall ones seem so high maintenance now. I actually like walking in the rain. It’s therapeutic to me.
We did have some sun and nice weather so I am not going to complain since I will take anything over the snow and ice that stuck around way too long!
