Link up below if you are joining me for another edition of Currently and thank you! Also, thank you to Jenn for coming up with most of this month’s prompts!
Saving my life right now – sounds dramatic, but this is just what really adds light to your life:
Seeing the sun, books to read, blogging, texts and phone calls from people I care about
Cleaning/purging:
Oh gosh – so much! I have not written out my “40 Bags in 40 days” of Lent list this year but maybe I need that tangible crossing off to help motivate me.
Loving

A nice mix in my weekly schedule of time at home and time out being social.
Planning (trip wise):
I had a couple of ideas fall through so I am still working on what our next trip will be. I am thinking that Tom, Eddie Otis, and I will drive to a beach soon.
Taking a break from:
Too much social media, worrying about things that aren’t mine to worry about, one-sided relationships
Now for Hodgepodge with Joyce…
1. As the saying goes, ‘March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.’ Did your March come in roaring or like some other animal? Every month carries with it certain feelings, which is why some people love and anticipate December and others dread it. How do you feel about the month of March?
Saturday, February 28 was so gorgeous! I had to change into shorts and a t-shirt to sit in the sun! Sunday, March 1 was around 38 and rainy when I woke up, but I’ll take it! I don’t know what animal I would equate it to. I love March. I filled up my bird feeders. I am enjoying hearing the sounds of birds chirping again.

2. Where in your life are you a lion? Where are you a lamb?
I am a lion when it comes to my kids being wronged – or Tom. I am a lamb when it comes to my kids and nieces and nephews. I try to smooth over my niece and nephew transgressions with their parents if I can.
3. The Hodgepodge lands on National Pound Cake day. Do you like pound cake? If so do you have a favorite flavor? Let’s play this or that-
I like it but never think about it. Isn’t it only sold in the freezer section? It seems very 80s to me. Oh, and I think I have cut it up for fondue?
- pound cake or layer cake?
- pound cake or cheesecake?
- pound cake or angel food cake?
- pound cake or brownie?
- pound cake or pie?
Layer, cheesecake, angel food cake, brownie, pie
Sorry, pound cake!
It is derived from England, and the name comes from the original recipe of a pound of flour, butter, sugar, and eggs. Dang! That’s a lot!
4. What makes you feel childlike wonder right now?
Nature! The sun! A stack of library books – for free?! Well, I do pay my taxes.
Colorful things! Pretty store displays! Seasonal decor!
5. What’s one thing you need to add to your wardrobe to get ready for spring? If you’re in the southern hemisphere, then answer for fall?
I need a pair of comfortable but stylish spring shoes. I am looking at mary janes, loafers, or not very high clogs. Nothing is really better than what I currently have. I just need a closed toe neutral that looks more modern – something that is as comfortable as a sneaker but a little elevated?
I will not be getting these:

My friend Victoria said this is a dupe of a very expensive designer shoe. I still just don’t get the toe situation. These shoes give me nightmares.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I am reflecting on how different this March is compared to last March in so many ways.
What would you say to a Currently or Hodgepodge topic?

Thanks for the link up- I just realized I forgot a prompt. Oops! It was inadvertent but I would have struggled with it so I guess it’s good I forgot it! Those shoes are just a hard no- I can’t imagine many will buy them?? Everyone seems excited about spring. I think I should be more so? I am with you on the pound cake. It never enters my train of thoughts or my desire to eat dessert list :).

The shoes look like a practical joke to me. I couldn’t do those either. Glad you had a taste of spring and hope y’all get a trip booked! Your 40 bags always is an inspiration to me. Thank you for hosting this and enjoy your day friend!

I agree on most of the hodgepodge answers! I’m also a lion when it comes to my kids…don’t mess with them. I want to add some shoes to my spring/summer wardrobe as well…but I’m leaning more towards sandals. And I want to start replacing some dresses; mine have served me well, but I’m ready to part with some this year. I always love these posts that are full of prompts! Thanks for hosting us!
