January is trucking right along this year, isn’t it? It’s not a favorite month for getting dressed traditionally. I’m usually just trying to stay warm. We’ve had a mild January so far. I am linking up with Kellyann and Jill to show you what I’ve worn, nevertheless. Did you catch that, Kellyann? Read her Monday post! I get to get dressed in January nevertheless!

Friday I could go out in just a blouse and jeans! I wore my leopard print Mary Janes.

Saturday it turned cold again so I wore jeans, my hot pink sweater from Old Navy, and Adidas Stan Smiths.

Sunday I wore my black cowl neck, black leggings, faux Uggs, and my new Target Joylab vest.

Monday I wore jeans, faux Uggs, black long sleeved tee, and my leopard vest

Tuesday I stayed in my gym leggings but put on another black long sleeved tee and a black fleece vest

I wore it to a warehouse sale of one of my favorite boutiques. I left empty handed and I consider that a success because last year I bought a lot and almost all of it ended up being donated. I have always had a problem with a sale, sale rack, and a warehouse sale. I have been working on that.

Last week I received an Old Navy order. I got another white crewneck t-shirt to wear under my sweaters

black everyday leggings that aren’t athletic

and thinking ahead to spring I ordered this white blouse

I am keeping all three pieces.

I have been watching Love is Blind Germany and two people have been wearing NY Yankees ballcaps. I found one at my consignment shop new with tags from Urban Outfitters and I got it.

Then, I thought I needed a navy sweater so I went to my trusty Amazon Essentials and got this:

An outfit is born! Ha! Yes, I know it was silly but it was silly to the tune of $10 for the cap and $20 for the sweater.

I signed up/applied to be part of The Halara Circle. They let you pick an item from a few items and you try it and review it. I hope I get to do it!

I am getting ready to publish a “Best of 2025 Purchases” post. I had so much fun going through all of my 2025 photos to see what was a good buy. I have mostly clothes and shoes in the post so I thought I would mention it here. I also have included some beauty and random purchases. I think we can learn so much about our spending through an exercise like this. I can’t help but think my “research” affected my wise spending/not spending at the warehouse sale!

What have you been wearing?

Amy

  1. “I have always had a problem with a sale, sales rack…” This times 1000%. I have a problem with online sales as well! That red “Sale” link on a website? I’m a goner!

  2. Love the Friday fit – leopard MJ are so cute
    Leopard vest is awesome too.
I asked for a tan / neutral KC hat, and I’ve been wearing it so much. I think that’s a great neutral to have.

  3. I’ve been trying to cycle through some of the hanging things I have, like flannel blouses, layering tees, and such. I spend half of the week in scrubs and am such a homebody that I have to make myself dress for leaving nice for leaving the house! Love that blue cable sweater you got. Great basic piece!

    1. Great idea to cycle through! I know – I am really trying to get out of pajamas and workout clothes each day even if it’s a casual outfit. Thank you! Amazon Essentials is really good. I have never gotten a bad piece.

  4. Thank you for the ‘nevertheless’ mention! Well played my friend!

Okay your retirement wardrobe is killing it – each of these outfits is just fab! It’s so nice to be able to wear what you want and not have to worry about work, isn’t it? I feel like a retired person who works when it comes to what I wear.

Great find on the NY Yankees cap , it looks so good with that blue sweater. Congrats on leaving the warehouse sale empty handed!!!

    1. Thank you! You definitely are “dressing up” quite a bit! Do you go out everyday after work? I think I would need to get out. I know you have to be camera ready sometimes, too!
I couldn’t believe it was new with tags from Urban Outfitters.

  5. I love all the outfits this week! I have a question- where do you buy leggings? I love those purple/blue ones that you went to the gym in. And what are non-athletic leggings? Like you just don’t wear them to the gym? I need information, because I’m needing some new colors of leggings.

I love the vests that you wear! I wore one yesterday and thought of you all day. I loved my outfit that day, and will share it with you in a text soon. I also love your new navy sweater and Yankees baseball hat! Very chic, my friend. Happy Thursday!

    1. Thank you!
The black ones I have are from Amazon, the blue ones are from Amazon, the grey ones are your rec, and the flowered ones are your rec from walmart. Those are my four athletic leggings with pockets on both sides. They are a more athletic material. The new ones I bought are simple cotton, not as tight, and no pockets.
I personally don’t want to stay in the tighter athletic ones all day because they aren’t as breathable. I had great luck with capri leggings from J.JIll long ago. Great material. I just don’t wear capri leggings anymore. That was in the day of the tunics everywhere.
I will send you a link.
Vests are so great in this cold! Thank you!

  6. You’d be a great addition to the Halara Circle – I always appreciate your honest and fun clothing reviews! That hat and sweater is a great combo (and a great price) and I really like your new ON white blouse. I’m heading there now to check it out. Happy Thursday!

    1. Aww thank you so much! You can trust me because I have no affiliate links. My blog doesn’t make me money; it costs me money! Lol. Thank you! I think it looks more expensive than ON if I could just get all the wrinkles out.
      You too!

  7. Our weather keeps going back and forth! Cold one day then warm! It’s kind of frustrating but I have been trying to wear all my sweaters (I think I have now) and trying to do some layers when I can. I am getting a little itch to shop, but I have 2 more weeks to go! I did a quick reorganization and a little clean out in my closet.

  8. I have tried… Unsuccessfully… Three times to be a part of the Halara circle! I hope you get to do it as well. I love the NY Yankees hat. I wish I could find one for $10. I’m also a Yankees fan so there’s that lol have a great day!

  9. I am finding myself quietly hushing that little voice that says, “Buy it…it’s on super duper sale.” I’m being relatively successful at it. I really think you should get in that circle. You can be their spokesmodel as you have convinced so many people to buy them! And, I love Old Navy’s tees! I especially love the Luxe ones, but I have several white ones because they get dingy, or makeup gets on them, or someone spills spaghetti sauce on them 🙂

    1. I’m doing a great job of avoiding sales. It’s hard when you have the time to not go shopping.
I hope I get to be part of the Halara circle!
You really do have to replace white tees often.
