Well, we are so close to the big day now…linking up with Sarah and Holly to share my weekend…

Thursday bright and early I went to Trader Joe’s for a few things. I loved the forest green of this tote and for only $3.99 it was a no brainer! I love having a tote for transporting things to my car like library books and what not. Did you know that Trader Joe’s totes are a fashion statement on the streets of London?

I had a happy hour/late birthday celebration with my friend Victoria at one of our favorite places – Red Hog. Her birthday was last week.

They have excellent fries with curry mayo and lavash with pimento cheese and red pepper jelly.

On the way to meet Victoria, I stopped at Sassy Fox consignment shop and picked up these pink pants for $7.

Friday morning, I got a much, much needed pedicure. I had been having so much trouble finding a time when it wasn’t icy, snowy, rainy, or cold.

I went with OPI Big Apple Red. Then I wore flip flops for several hours to make sure they were fully dry. I messed up my last two professional pedicures!

Friday night I wore this – Halaras, red/white stripe blouse from TJ Maxx a few months ago, and Amazon Essentials cardigan:

And, I wore my tree earrings!

We went to a little hole in the wall pizza place to hear our friend play and sing:

I had a really good raspberry Belgian beer:

The pizza was surprisingly good – very saucy and the sauce had good flavor:

Our passports already came in! It only took like a week! What the what? Again, we took our own horrible photos at home and did the whole renewal process from my phone. So easy. Highly recommend!

Saturday Tom got Eddie Otis out of the house and I did laundry, the floors, piddled, wrapped, and then I was done. Look how nice it was! It got up to about 50.

I finished this and I found it so cute!

Proof that Eddie Otis does everything with Tom – they were replacing batteries in the security camera.

Tom and I got dressed and went down to the river – well, the creek off the river:

We had fish and chips for dinner

Sunday I got a car wash to get all that nasty snow residue off my car.

It was a beautiful sunny day! I went to TJ Maxx and didn’t really find much. I was looking for a couple of last minute things.

After lunch, Tom and I went down to this little Christmas market and walked around.

There’s a little skating rink there.

We saw some cute sheep!

There is a new distillery in this area and we went inside to check it out. So pretty inside!

And, yesterday was our shortest day of the year. That gives me hope to get through winter – ha!

Blogging Break – I will be posting again tomorrow, and then I will take a break and be back 12/30.

Don’t forget…

Currently will be 1/7 so I would love you to join me as this will be my first time hosting a link up! Jenn is passing the torch, and I’m flattered that she asked me. It will be the first Wednesday of every month. Each month I will give you 5 present participles (-ings) for you to talk about. In January it will be loving, resolving, planning, eating/drinking, and watching/reading. If you also do Joyce’s Hodgepodge like me feel free to do them in the same post!

  1. Louisville seems to have so many fun things to do! It was warmer here in Virginia, cold today though. I even bought a book called “How To Winter” and am reading it to try and help me get through the next 2 months, lol. I hope you have a Merry Christmas! Love the Eddie Otis photos!

    1. I think so! I either saw that book or read it last year – will have to check! I can relate. My friend thinks that retirement will help me like January. We will see! Merry Christmas to you! I will try to take more!

  2. I need to get my car washed!! Good for you for doing that. The pizza looks really good and how fun to hear your friend play and support him. We had pretty nice weather as well- not nearly so cold and none of that white stuff to put a damper on plans :). The market looks cute and festive. Have a great Monday!

    1. I hate that white residue! I have two free car washes because the place ate my money last time I tried to do it and I called and followed up and they gave me free ones for my trouble.
The pizza was good re-heated, too. We really like hearing him play. He learned a song for Tom, too, which was so sweet – Tom’s favorite singer.
It was super cute. You too! You’re free!

  3. Ah, so fun that you are going to host a link-up! I’ll try to remember to plan for those :). Looks like a beautiful weekend weather-wise – we were in OH and came home with a TON of salt on my car so heading to the car was ASAP today. We had one of our Christmases so now just need to wrap for the second one this week. I actually have no idea if I’m “done” shopping or not – probably need to go through everything today – ha! I’m not concerned. . .everything is so low-key. Need to finish these Christmas cards – will miss your posts but glad you are taking time away for rest and family 🙂

It sounds like a lovely celebration for Victoria’s birthday! I love your Friday night outfit, especially that shirt.

  6. What a fabulous weekend! Yay for pedicures and Christmas markets. That one looked cute that you went to with Tom! I love that cozy space inside, as well from that night. How sweet of EO to “help” his daddy with all the household chores. He’s the best boy! I love your outfit with the Halaras, red cardigan, and striped button down! Merry Monday to you, my friend. Enjoy the hustle and bustle!
