It’s Thursday so I am linking up with Kellyann and Jill for Fashion Files. Let’s do it!

First of all, we have been enjoying 70s and low 80s here in Louisville, KY so that drives our fashion, of course.

Here’s what I’ve been wearing over the last week…

I had a late afternoon hair appointment so the sun coming in my bathroom window was strong. I am wearing my new light denim straight leg Halaras that were recently hemmed for me, old gold Birks, and a lightweight button up from consignment shopping. I always get hot under the hair cape, so I try to not wear anything too thick! Enjoy this horrible photo!

The next day I had new hair and a happy hour date with my old teaching buddy Elizabeth. This time I wore my Halara light flares with my Kork Ease sandals and an old TJ Maxx tropical blouse.

For Labor Day weekend Saturday errands I wore patriotic colors – my Amazon red/white check boxers, my white gauzy button up, and my navy Aerie sweatshirt.

For the movie theater, I wore my Target Wild Fable sweat shorts and my Aerie button up. I thought to have Mason take a real photo!

I love this outfit and I think I have similar pieces to basically copy it!

Do you follow Our Tiny Nest on IG or read her blog? She is super creative.

She just posted that it is Princess Di bike short season!

I have black biker shorts. I now have the mid calf socks. Look at her legs. Wow!

I do not have a Harvard sweatshirt but I did in high school. I loved that sweatshirt.

I received my Halara jeans with the stripe down the side. They came super fast!

I ordered these in petite length and they are at least four inches longer than my petite flares with no stripe. Come on! I have already taken them to my tailor. Short people problems! But, I’m 5’4 so I’m not that short am I? Why are pants so dang long?

What have you been wearing lately?

  1. Darn you and your Halaras Amy! Like it or not, you are an INFLUENCER – ha!!! I think I need to try these with the side stripe. They might just be the answer to my track pant dreams!

Totally jealous of your weather, it sounds perfect for wearing a layers. I think that’s what I love most about cooler seasons.

Interesting too about Princess Di and the bike shorts. That woman looked amazing in everything!

  2. I love all the outfits this week! And I love that it’s Princess Di biker short/sweatshirt season. I have biker shorts! Her legs were beautiful…I remember wearing socks like that with tennis shoes, it was a fun look.

  3. I’ve been really tempted to try a pair of the Halara jeans. Did you go with your regular size? I have some of the shorts, and I ignored a lot of the advice I’d heard about them and went with my normal size. I wish I’d sized down.

  4. I think I’d end up cutting off all the flare with those Halara jeans if the petites are that long on you! I do know how to do an original hem, but it’s tricky with overly wide legs. I didn’t know I was on trend with Princess Diana…I wear bike shorts all the time. I don’t wear those socks, but I may give it a try! You really have me thinking about those track stripe jeans…can’t wait to see yours once they’ve been hemmed.

    1. I don’t like a raw hem anymore but boy did I love the ability to just cut and go. I’m excited to try them – it might be a miss but you gotta take chances in life!

  5. In the last pic (not of you but from the site) those track pants are way too long! I don’t feel like anyone would wear them like that so why show it in an ad for them? I don’t think too many people look really good in biker shorts- Princess Di sure but she also had an eating disorder?? I like your movie theater outfit :).

    1. I know! I do think that is kind of the street style from photos I’ve seen on Pinterest. Gross to have your hems drag, no? I did not know that about Di. That’s sad. Thank you!

  6. I could do the bike short thing. I’ve been wearing the midcalf socks for no reason other than they are more comfortable! It’s the weirdest thing, ironically picking up a trend like that.

I love the gingham/plaid shorts. They elevate the basic look of shorts and a tee.
