It’s Monday so I am linking up with Holly and Sarah to share my weekend. It was pretty chill because it was so dang hot! Is it too early to say summer is no longer my favorite season?
So, on Thursday afternoon I did this blue French mani:

I also tried to pull out any red, white, or blue pieces that I wanted to wear.
Before that…
I really liked this errand outfit:

I hate my legs sticking to a car seat or a restaurant seat so I wanted to wear pants.
This is my new consignment short sleeve button up. I did not wear anything under it and I think it looks ok.
I made this to take on the errands run. It’s so good! This is Kroger brand coconut pineapple seltzer and I add a lemonade stick to it. I don’t want to have too much artificial sweetener so I should try this with natural lemon juice or the True brand.

I went to Costco not realizing that even though it was a weekday that it was the day before the 4th and yes, Costco was crazy!
I had fun driving my new to me car but I was a bit of a Nervous Nelly.
When Tom got home from work we drove around and ended up at Fresh Market for our dinner of $5 sushi that we took home. It was fun.
Tom and I started this and it’s adorable. Anyone else?

Thursday night was like a weekend night for Tom because he had Friday off and we had plans to boat on the 4th. It was so hot but we had fun and managed to stay in the shade or kept moving most of the time. We had three friends with us.

For dinner we were back home and I made these cute taters, corn on the cob, hot dogs, and beans.

Tom went hiking with his friend on Saturday and I ran some errands. I had to return these two books that I didn’t crack open or finish. No guilt. Reading is for fun and if I can’t get into a book or stay into it – bye bye.

My goal was to finally get to the farmer’s market! I got there by 8:30 and it was already packed and hot.
This is my bag from Spain from 1989:

I saw a former student who works at one of the farm stands.
This is my haul:

I stayed inside much of Saturday with Eddie Otis while we waited for Tom to return from hiking.
Later in the day after Tom got home I went to Target for a few things and for the first time, this didn’t trigger me:

School Supplies on 4th of July weekend!
Haha
I have been praying for the little campers from Camp Mystic and the others that lived nearby. That type of flooding can happen so fast and the timing could not have been worse. I pray for all the people affected and the rescue workers who are working hard. Gosh, it’s just too much.

I love your blue tipped manicure! It sounds like you had a real lovely weekend. Ours was filled with family and good food too.

It sounds like a good weekend! Kroger was getting its back to school supplies out over the weekend and Hobby Lobby was getting its Christmas decor out. My stars! Yes, to the tragedy. I haven’t been reading about it. I’ve seen the headlines. The magnitude of the tragedy is so much to bear. It doesn’t seem fair to have a wonderful weekend knowing the pain that so many are enduring. I hope you have a good Monday!

It was laid back! Oh man! I also saw Halloween stuff out somewhere! I know – I am really struggling with the news of it this weekend. Right. My thoughts exactly and it’s been hanging over me. I feel so badly for everyone involved.
You too!

You are going to really enjoy July and August in a whole new way now that you aren’t on the back to school countdown! Woo hoo!!!

Glad you were able to boat and hit the Farmer’s Market. We have no plans for the upcoming weekend so maybe I can talk hubs into going with me. I’m not supposed to drive. Ugh….I’m needy and don’t like it lol. I agree the Texas tragedy just weighs so very heavy. It’s almost too much to wrap our heads around. I cannot imagine the terror and am praying for the lost and the survivors both. Take care.

Oh man! You are going to have so much togetherness. I think the shine has worn off the farmers market for me. It’s so expensive and crowded! Eek.
I know. I am just so sad and sick about TX.

As I watched the horror of the flood in TX coming over the news, a real heaviness settled in. That kind of grief is just incomprehensible and my heart breaks for those families. Your weekend sounded like fun and I loved your errand running outfit! You should walk the aisles of school supplies and do a little dance, Lol Have a great week!

Thank you and thank you. It just feels so unimportant to blog about these things right now.
I should make a video in Target!

That tragedy of the girls who lost their lives at Camp Mystic is just heartbreaking beyond words. It hits especially hard knowing how special these camps are here in Texas, kids make lifelong memories there every summer. The grief runs deep here.
On a lighter note, I always love seeing your pictures from the farmers market. They make me want to go to ours here every time I see them. Thanks for sharing those simple moments.

Thank you! I think the shine has worn off for me a bit since I have gone for several years and it’s become so dang crowded. And, it’s not cheap!

You did a fantastic job with your nails and I love your errand outfit!
It looks lovely on the boat, I think I would have stayed in the shade too.
They are starting to sell school supplies here in shops, making a big deal. It’s crazy, most of the schools haven’t even finished for summer yet! lol

I am taking a library book back today that I read about 40 pages of. Not great. No guilt.
Knowing how much money I’ve spent on school supplies over the years makes me queasy lol.

Same! No guilt! And, that’s why the library is so great. If I had spent money I would be mad!

I want to try that seltzer trick! Your 4th looks great…so nice to have the boat. I’m listening to the Comeback Summer and I’ve enjoyed listening to it. I’ve been thinking about the campers too…& their families. So heartbreaking. I’m glad to have Hadley home from her camp.

I just haven’t had much patience to let myself get into books. I blame the weather! Me and my fair weather reading.
So hearbreaking. My sister just had her little boy at camp, you just had your little girl at camp – you definitely can imagine some of the feelings of this kind of event. It’s just so sad.

Hadley being away during that time affected me more than I realized. Just so sad and I was so grateful to have her home.

Our 4th of July was pretty somber. We didn’t even try to go look at fireworks as it was cloudy and rainy. I live less than an hour from the flooding in Kerrville and an hour and a half from Hunt. My FB feed is just so sad. 😭 We couldn’t stop watching the news praying that people would be found alive. Unfortunately now it’s just a recovery effort. I can’t imagine how those poor parents of missing campers are doing 😭

I can imagine. I am not close and I still felt that dark cloud and couldn’t think of much else. I just can’t even. It’s too much to wrap your head around. Sad doesn’t convey the feelings.

I feel like the summers get hotter with each year that passes! I don’t remember triple digit summer days from when I was a kid! I love the blue-french mani! So festive for the 4th. I keep seeing people post about that “First-time Caller” book and now I want to read it! Looks like you had a great weekend!
