It’s Thursday and time to link up with Kellyann and Jill for Fashion Files!
I was not sad but I just don’t know how to selfie! I love my new hat. My old fedora didn’t feel right and my straw cowboy-ish style hat didn’t feel right, but this new hat is perfect. Here is the link if you want one. I think Mix and Match Mama recommended it.
This dress is turning out to be the steal of the season. It’s J.Crew, not Factory, so I think it retailed for quite a bit. I have worn it as a dress and here I am wearing it as a coverup for the pool party last weekend. I noticed Sheaffer Told Me Too featured it in pink from the Factory website here. You know my love for gauze and it’s just the perfect style to throw on for almost any event.
I wore this to run errands one day. I have on my Old Navy gauzy white button up and my Old Navy lime and white linen shorts with my new sandals. I also have this style of shorts in a tropical print. They are the same size and the tropical fit like at least a whole size bigger. Old Navy’s sizing is so off I have found. So, my advice is that it’s not you; it’s them. You might need to try on even a couple of pairs labelled the same size to get it right!
I am still waiting for my Aerie order to come in with a size down in the blue and lobsta sweatshirts.
I think I am going to keep the size blue I have but I am being very patient while I wait. Your comments made me feel sad about the lobsta so I re-ordered it! And, this was a reminder that when ordering online that it might be good to order two sizes in each item.

I know they aren’t that practical because they will look too summery and not work into fall. Aren’t they pretty, though? This is the most comfortable of the Birkenstock styles for me. I had a pair like this but not big buckle and I sold them.
Since I have been wearing my Target brown flip flops so much this summer I splurged on a pair of Hari Mari brown leather flip flops. They are so supportive and I love them. You won’t think they look any different than my Target ones in a photo! I got a nice discount code and they are very well made. I was wearing them with the green dress. I have lotion on my mirror and a streak, too. I just don’t ever want my blog to be too professional and scare y’all away, you know?

Summer calls for smaller jewelry or simpler jewelry maybe?
I mixed it up for the pool and wore my long gauzy skirt, button up and my hat.

I love the korkease sandals – such a good brand and your green JC guaze dress is such a great staple. Love that you wore it not only as a dress but as a cover up too. That new hat looks good on you. I bet you’d wear those Birks more than you think so I say get them – but I am a major enabler so there’s that!

I can’t do a non awkward selfie face (I feel like I look awkward- I’m not saying you do!) which is one reason that I take so few!! That sky and clouds in your first pic- so pretty! Agree with your last statement about weather extremes. It seems like that takes precedence over day to day things like fashion. I was on team lobster sweatshirt so I’m glad your’re going to keep it (or get a new size- I forgot what you said about it)!

I agree about Old Navy sizing. I’ve had a similar experience. I often order things in two sizes to make it easy. I love the lobster sweatshirt and hope the new size works for you. I still need a few summer things but have been buying for the grandkids instead. It’s even more fun than buying for me lol. Sooo many cute boutiques now that weren’t around when mine were little. I will check out the J Crew dress, not sure if it’s still available. I love the green and that’s a good color on me.

Oh I love kid clothing so much! Do you like the Cat and Jack line at Target? It’s really good. I also had some great kid consignment stores near me.
I got my J.Crew dress at a consignment shop so I am not even sure it was this season. That green makes me swoon!

I find Gap is the same way; I tired on two pairs of linen pants– same style, same size, different colors and the blue pants were a whole hem line shorter (so like a good 1/2 inch!). After trying them on I lined up them up waist to hem along the seam and I could absolutely see the difference. I hate that I can’t just grab all the same sizes and know they’ll fit. I never think to order 2 sizes when ordering on line but I always grab 2 sizes when I’m in the stores. I need to get that habit to carry over even if I do hate dealing with returns it’s worth it to get a fit I like.

I love all the outfits! That white button down from ON is a great length. I need some shirts that are more that length, and I wish I could find more t-shirts as well. I may have to visit a store soon and look in person/try on. I love the new flip flops! They look great on your feet. Happy Thursday!

I have been wearing workout clothes in the morning so that I will actually workout 😂 I change after a quick shower. I have been wearing my favorite navy Birkenstocks alot. Mine are the Siena I believe with criss cross straps. I love them – comfortable and cute!!

I always look terrible in selfies. I can do photos for the blog, but there’s something about a selfie that makes me look goofy. I wish I could wear white tops. Our water is horrible and makes everything so dingy in no time. When I order from Old Navy, a lot of times, I’ll order two of the same size just because I know there’s a huge difference. Luckily, there’s a store close by where I can return them. The stores rarely have what I want and rarely have petites. Get the Birkenstocks. They would look cute with socks this fall, but I bet you’ll wear them more than you think.
