I have had my list written for quite some time, but it never made it to the blog! I tend to only put my fun things on my list and of course, I have another list of productivity type things.

I printed this sheet out and my friends Erica, Elizabeth and I did this during a happy hour on my patio back in May!

I can add to it or take things away any time. This isn’t super strict!

-Find a summer scent – I think I have done this with my Ouai hair and body mist paired with my Trader Joe’s brazilian nut body wash and body butter. It’s a coconuty beachy scent.

-Go to Waterfront Wednesday to see my favorite and only cellist – lol – He is the Dad of my student of two years and I followed him and liked him and saw him in concert even before he was a Dad. So, it was a cool connection that I got to teach his kid! His name is Ben Sollee.

-Go to an outdoor concert at a nearby neighborhood

-Visit the botanical gardens for the first time

-Watch White Lotus

-Go to the adult pool

-Go to the boutique hotel pool – Wednesdays free for teachers

-Go to Erica’s country club pool

-Go to new steakhouse at a downtown hotel

-Make strawberry freezer jam again

-Farmer’s Market

-Pool party for the class of 90

-Boat

-Buy a grill – I really want a Blackstone! Help!

-Go to Penny and Pearl’s cookie shop with Elizabeth (she has never been)

-Buy elderflower syrup and do my spritzes again

-Go to Regatta in my hometown (hydroplane race)

-Go to Ribberfest in my hometown (ribs and blues)

-Go to Unbroken Circle music festival in my hometown

-Chautauqua in my hometown (arts festival in September)

-35th class reunion

I have already done many of these things and I keep my list on my kitchen memo board to look at from time to time.

What’s something you put on your list?

Amy

  1. I always say I will make a list and then never do! Again, THIS IS WHY I AM NOT LIVING MY DREAM LIFE – ha!! I never write it down and set the goals for a dream summer! I honestly need to think of a few things and jot them down. I think your list looks fun and I hope you check everything off of it!

I need to go back and read your last few posts so I can know what ‘s happening in your life!

  2. The nice thing for you is that “summer” is going to go on indefinitely so you are not limited to a certain date by which to have these done (unless you’re aiming to do these by the literal, calendar, end of summer date, then you would be). You have some good items on this list! I hope you get to them all. The girls and I have a destination in mind in Cincinnati- it’s hard though because their work schedules are exact opposite. We could go on the weekend but week days would be much less crowded so I’m hoping a week day will open up for all of us.

    1. That is true! We were there last night for a Reds game for Tom! I’ve never been so hot in my life! Plus we walked about 6 miles in the heat somehow!

  3. Love your list! I hold mine pretty loosely, but like to have a few things to aim for in terms of fun, family, and other. I don’t do as many house tasks in the summer months and that’s okay. There’s a huge farmer’s market in the nearby city I want to get to, and hoping hubs will go with me one Saturday. I’m meeting a friend from NC in July, halfway between my house and hers and that’s where the best peach stands are, so I’ll definitely make a stop there. Hope you have a great summer!

    1. The farmer’s market I go to has turned into an event. There are breakfast sandwiches, live music, crafts, and so much more. If I don’t get moving early enough parking becomes crazy.
I hold mine loosely, too, and this year I am really being less tied to it because I don’t feel the pressure of years past.
I hope you do, too. Hope that ankle heals!

  4. All of these things sound like fun! I like it when the list is both fun and full of things that will be easily attainable. I feel like mine was like that! Speaking of, I need to revisit mine. I’m going to another summer concert this week- Friday night is Old Dominion at the same outdoor venue I was at a couple of weeks ago. I may die from the heat, though! It’s going to be rough. I’m already planning a cold shower as soon as I get back home after. Happy Tuesday!

    1. Thank you! Yes, it needs to be realistic! I have already done several of the things.
That will be fun! I have all the tips for you from the Reds game last night. I may have never been so hot in my whole life. Buy the cooling tube neck thing. I wish I had had that.

  5. You’ve come up with so many fun things to do to make this summer special (and the best part… no add on of “before I head back to school”)! I love the idea of building your list with friends… during a Happy Hour before the season begins! What a great way to anticipate summer!

  6. I am supposed to be making one of these, but I’ll probably get it done in September…hahaha!! Whit Lotus is really good. We have a Blackstone (the really big one), and it’s too big for me to use. Mike can’t do it right now so we’re giving it to our son. I’m going to look for a smaller gas grill because they’re just easier for me to use. But, the Blackstone is perfect for cooking so many things all at once! We used to do stir fries on it. Our SIL has a smaller one and uses it to make breakfast all at once! Hope you get cooler weather (hope we do, too)!

      1. My opinion (for what it’s worth) – a Blackstone is like a toy that you enjoy for like 6 months then you say, I should have been practical and bought a grill. My kids INSISTED my husband “needed” a Treager, and one year in, they were right. It is an investment piece but it does EVERYTHING. They even grill bacon on it. I finally splurged on myself and bought an Our Place griddle pan. GAME CHANGER in the kitchen. AND they can use it on the grill. So….we probably only use the Blackstone 2-3 times a month but probably the Treager 4-5 times a week. you can’t make a bad choice though – ANY food made outside is always better 😉
