Hello! It’s Monday! Who cares? Lol! That was mean. I’m sorry. Mondays mean nothing to me anymore is all!

I am linking up with Holly and Sarah to share my weekend with you!

Let’s go back to Thursday. I actually got a medicine ball/honey citrus mint tea from Starbuck’s both Wednesday and Thursday. My allergies/cold had moved down and I think this tea really helps.

I walked around Target and stuck to only food items – go me! There were many tempting things, but I held strong.

I made myself green teas and bengal spice teas at home, too.

I had time to sit and read.

I bought St. Germaine elderflower liqueur so I could make my spritzs of last summer. I was hoping I would still like the flavor and I do!

We had some rain again but it felt nice to sit outside.

I am trying to establish a cleaning routine – I have said this many times. I need puppy out of house and I like to work quickly once Tom has him on a walk. I have put off so much that I have a lot to do now, but it’s ok. And, I finally felt like my allergies/cold symptoms were almost gone.

Usually we can get our boat on the river in mid-May. So, this is really late for our maiden voyage, but it was so much fun!

The boat was super dirty/dusty!

We went out for about two hours and pulled the boat back in just in time for the rain to start up again.

We keep our boat on its trailer in a big barn right by the river.

Our friends wanted us to meet them for Mexican and the timing worked out. We went straight there to meet them. I got a pineapple drink and it was delish. Did you know you can request a sugar rather than a salt rim?

I hadn’t had lunch so I was really hungry and ordered this dish:

I came home and sat on the covered patio and listened to my rain chain.

I finished my second Kristy Woodson Harvey book. I realized I had read this one, but I read it again because it had been so long. I have her newest on request and I have a third book already checked out so I want to be caught up before her new one comes in.

Sunday morning – guess what – it had rained some more.

Little boy looking at me:

Tom went down to wash the boat with Eddie Otis and I brought him a bacon, egg, and cheese and we sat and talked to another boater for a bit.

Eddie Otis was hilarious trying to drink the hose water and biting at the scrub brush. I kept trying to get a photo of his face with soap all over it. I took him home since he wasn’t a very good boat washing assistant.

We had a grad party to go to! I used the college colors to add a little something more to a monetary gift. It’s a bow shaped hairclip and yellow OPI since the colors are black and yellow.

It was a nice party!

What was the highlight of your weekend?

Thanks for reading,

Amy

  1. Your weekend sounds nice! I’m sure it was great getting out on the boat. Your yard looks so pretty with everything so green due to all of the rain. I feel like that is what our area is like as well. We went to a grad party this weekend, too. It’s so fun to celebrate grads! Have a great Monday!

  2. How wonderful that Monday is just another day for yo!! Woo hoo!! My husband is retiring at the end of this month. I, however, will be working for 8 more years!!!

Yay for boat season! I would love to live on a lake and have a boat docked in the back. Maybe one day!

Your grad gift was so cute!

  3. Your weekends always sound so fun! We’ve had a lot of rain here in Virginia so was a quiet weekend, no plans which is fine with me every now and again. We cooked, watched golf and read our books. I have 3 large dogs so I get the cleaning thing with no dogs! Eddie Otis is so cute! Have a great week–

  4. I hope you are feeling better now. It is so hard at this time of year trying to decide if it’s just allergies or a cold.
Your spritzs sound so good. I do like elderflower flavours.
How great to get out on the boat and the graduation gift is so cute.

  5. What a great weekend! I bet it felt great to be on the boat again. I love how EO looks with his little puppy dog eyes. I am about to finish a book finally! I want to read the new Kristy Woodson Harvey book, too. I bought the newest Taylor Jenkins Reid book and love it so far! I would say that a highlight of my weekend was seeing my sister for the first time in a few weeks, and having a great conversation with J about more serious things we had never gotten around to talking about. I’m going to a concert with him next weekend~ I haven’t been to a concert in ages! And I have another one we’re going to at the end of June, too. This is the summer for concerts, I guess! I’m not complaining!

  6. Does it feel like you’re retired yet, or do you think it will really hit in September since you always had summers off? The expression on EO’s face in that photo is the best! He has very human expressions 😉

The highlight of my weekend was seeing a friend in her first off Broadway play! She has returned to her love of acting after raising her kids and I just love and admire a second chapter!

  7. When we lived in Annapolis we had a Crownline and I loved it. It was a bowrider and really roomy. We have a Cobalt now, which I also love, but we went with a slightly smaller ride since we’re not cruising the big Bay water anymore. Course now we have all these littles to motor around and should probably get a pontoon, but hubs loves this boat and is not a pontoon guy. My daughter’s in-laws have one so we can all pile on theirs if need be. Everyone fits on our boat but if its the whole crew it’s full. We generally get our first ride in end of April or first week of May, but the weather wouldn’t cooperate so we were a little later too. I love the idea of adding some little something in school colors to a monetary gift. Takes it up a notch. Our retirement mantra…’every day is Saturday’ : ) Enjoy!

  8. We had more rain this weekend as well but still managed a few fun hikes and things. I hadn’t cleaned before we left for Maine and leaving a 21 and a 17 year old at home means I’m hitting that cleaning extra hard this week. Today I tackled the upstairs.. not including the 3 boys’ rooms and decided I’d had enough for now.

When we got home from Maine I had gotten notice that my library hold(s) were in… 8 books came in all at once! 8?! I have no idea how I’m going to read them all before they are due back but Kristy’s latest one is one of them and I definitely plan to dig into that one first.

  9. It has definitely been a cooler and wetter May. I keep meaning to say I really like those glasses. I have been really bad about keeping to a cleaning schedule since we moved ten years ago. I just can’t seem to get into a rhythm.
I hope you have a wonderful first full week of retirement!

    1. It’s so great! Although Mondays were never the bane of my existence. I hated Tuesday – pointless meeting day that made for a very long day.
I thought it was cute and something I would like.
