I almost didn’t participate in Fashion Files today because I didn’t have much fashion in my files. Alas, here I am – linking up with Kellyann and Jill.

I think this was the last day I got dressed in a decent outfit. I wore my Aerie yellow button up on Friday. It was cold so I added a cardigan.

I am having trouble editing photos again – ugh! So, the reason why I have not been getting formally dressed for the day is that I have been on spring break, then it rained and flooded, and now I have been doing online school from home all week so far.

If you are a regular reader, here is the river view of Captain’s Quarters where we eat from our boat a lot in the summer:

This is a local news reporter. It made national news for its approach to protecting the property. They flood the interior with fresh water to keep the dirty river water out:

Too funny not to share!

I wear lounge shorts around the house and found these Wild Fable by Target shorts for $14 in the store the other day. I have washed and worn the and I am super pleased. They have pockets! I saw they are down to $11. 20 so I ordered the yellow and grey and already have the light blue and a light mauve color.

I also ordered this clearance sweatshirt.

I feel like I only want to wear sweatshirts lately. It’s cold outside again and I am not going out much.

I have always loved cork and I ordered these on a whim. While I love them, the back strap is too difficult and tight to be honest to work for me.

They were going to charge me $10 to return them so I exchanged them for these, less practical, but fabulous shoes!

I am not getting to wear my spring clothing right now, but hopefully I will get to soon!

Sorry for such an unprofessional post, my editing wasn’t working on my phone, either.

What have you been wearing?

Buying for spring?

Amy

  1. Yikes that river is really high! I’m still wearing sweaters with leggings and jeans and staring at all the cute spring stuff in my closet… But I too have been unable to edit photos lately and it’s driving me nutty.

  2. I hope that rain has receeded by now. We’ve had some crazy photos here too. That Snoop picture is funny! The wedges are such cute shoes! I hope they are comfortable too. I have purchased a few shirt from Marshalls lately.

  3. Wow, I cannot believe how high the water is! How scary. I hope that things are settling down and repairs can begin soon.

I love your new shoes – I own the Camera in 2 colors and really thought about getting the cork. I decided not to since it’s so close to the nude color I already have. They are so comfortable – good choice!

Hope things dry out and warm up!

    1. It’s crazy and scary! I think it will start going down now. But, we do have some rain forecasted tonight.
I knew you had some of this style and said they were comfy. I will return them if they don’t work and just suck up the lost $10. I can’t believe Aerosoles is charging that. Maybe companies aren’t able to sustain free returns anymore?

  4. That photo is wild and the meme is hysterical. But, yeah, hopefully things return to normal down there soon. I’ve seen some pictures near the Ohio in Cincinnati and it’s shocking how high the water got. I’ve ordered some clothing items that I hope arrive soon. They’re very warm weather items and that isn’t happening anytime soon so I likely won’t be wearing them for a while :(.

  5. I love those cork block heels! What fun shoes, even if they aren’t as practical. They’ll be great with your shorter dresses when it warms up! I’ve been able to keep wearing my spring clothes, for the most part. It starts off cooler in the morning, but it warms up in the day. I’m thinking of wearing a dress today, but I’ll have to see if I’m feeling it later when I go to get dressed. I love those shorts! I’m not a shorts person, though I wish I was. I prefer either dresses still, or leggings when I’m home. Mine are too big now, so I ordered two new pairs from Amazon last week. I’ll share them tomorrow on my Favorites post, because they’re good!

I can’t believe how much flooding y’all had- Captain’s Quarters is shocking. It’s always sad when things flood like that, right? I hope it recedes soon. Happy Thursday to you, my friend!

    1. Very impractical but maybe my retirement life will be more impractical? That can be frustrating when the temps vary. Maybe you will be a shorts person? This would be a good starter pair!
      I know – it’s crazy!

  6. Wow! I watched that video. The flooding is crazy but the restaurant owner is smarter than mother nature πŸ˜‰ Praying for everyone affected by flooding. As for clothes, I have been buying and wearing light weight tops. I have a black ruffle sleeve gauze top from Old Navy that I love. I bought another one in lavender. The weather has warmed up to low 90’s to upper 80’s so spring and summer clothes it is!

  7. That is a lot of river! I was surprised we didn’t have lots more flooding than we did. Yay for new shorts! I need to try mine on and do some purging. Still wearing sweatshirts here, too. I keep looking at those Camera shoes. I hope you’ll let us know, one way or the other, how they worked for you. One more day to the weekend!

  8. I watched the news story – very unique idea about using fresh water. People think that a flood is just water, but it is very dirty water and mud. In our case with Harvey, the sewage lines were also affected so the water was VERY dirty. And it stayed in the house for a week. We basically threw away anything the water touched. Hope things dry up soon!

  9. Can’t get over that river pic, hope everyone stays safe! Btw, you have the best eyebrows. And I love the non-practical cork heel, great call…..you are tempting me.

  10. I love those cork sandals but I could see how a strap would be annoying.

I just got a pair of flatform Tevas and they’re great. Hopefully it’ll be warm enough this week to start wearing them.
