Hi guys! Winter is back! I am linking up with Kellyann and Jill to talk about my fashion as of late.

Last week, I only had school Wednesday through Friday and it was a good thing because I only have 3 items with hearts! Ha!

Wednesday I wore this…

Yes, I am a Spanish teacher and I had to tell my students I was wearing French on my t-shirt. I also have on my black Halaras, my old white New Balances that I can’t get dirty. They are magical. My sweater is an old Target cardigan that I have like 5 colors of. This was my first day back after my mom’s funeral and I wanted and needed to be comfortable. We had been at home online the two days before.

Why do I still like graphic tees so much? Is something wrong with me?

Thursday I wore this repeat. I think I wore it three times during the days leading up to V Day.

And, Friday I wore my new black TJ Maxx pants that were $8. They are pull on and stretchy. I got them with my sisters in my hometown. We had never seen TJ Maxx prices so low. Things were $1, $2 and I think the most anything was on the clearance was like $8. Sisters majorly scored for themselves and for their kids. We really thought it was my mom’s doing. My mom loved loved loved TJ Maxx and loved buying and returning. She had a return in her car that we did for her. Sorry if this kind of talk makes you sad. It makes me smile and keep her close.

They were going to be funeral visitation pants but then I pivoted to a dress because it was warm out. The sweater is old from Amazon. The ballet flats are new this year from Walmart – Scoop brand.

Saturday I wore this:

The jeans are “skinny” and I feel kinda odd in them now, but when it is rainy and you wear rain boots it’s kind necessary to not have hems of wide legs in puddles, you know?

I had this navy press on mani on for about 9 days before taking it off.

Tuesday was teacher day and it was also snowing! I wore my school sweatshirt, leggings, Koolaburras, and vest.

Monday I did a Target trip and found the best classic Rainbow flip flop dupe for like $12. The dogs were out. These are really well made! Eddie Otis ate most of my summer shoe wardrobe last summer. Yum!

And, wait for it… I found the best Rothy’s dupe I have ever seen and got them for $16. Sadly they are now $20 and I got a half size too big. With a pointy toe or sometimes just a flat, I am an 8.5. I need an 8 in these fyi.

I really think we are going to see a lot of Mary Janes.

I like to take pictures of looks I want to try. I’ve been drawn to putting my button down under things lately. One of my button downs/button ups is a no wrinkle material that is also very cool and great for the woman who gets hot. I have a striped Breton top, too. So we will see if I can do this. The top might not be big enough to make this work under.

How cute are these by Boden? Should I go for it and not think about what they would match? I also want color but go for the practical neutral shoe, I think.

I am still having trouble editing photos once they are in my blog post. I have to edit on my phone and sometimes I forget.

I haven’t shopped much this year, but boy the spring styles are going to tempt me something fierce!

I placed a small Old Navy order and we shall see what I keep.

I first need to see what still appeals in my closet from last season.

Are we over our winter clothes? Pretty much over here!

What have you been wearing?

Also, should I make a drastic change and get my hair cut to shoulder length? I have an appointment on Saturday.

Amy

  1. Oh I am definitely over my winter clothes. I feel like I am just wearing the same outfits over and over. I haven’t bought anything clothing wise in the new year (though I did get a couple pairs of shoes using my LL Bean points that were basically free!). But I definitely see myself splurging more on spring/summer stuff.

  2. I really like your Navy Mani. I never thought to do navy. Also I am a button down girl with a sweater or sweatshirt over top. To me it is classic. So the Saturday outfit is my favorite. I will looking at the Boden sandals. Take Care!

    1. I have found that I love shades of blue for my mani on me. I don’t seem to tire of it like a pink or red. Thank you! it really is classic and my style has moved to more classic, maybe.

  3. I love it that your mom loved TJ Maxx and that you and your sisters found good deals there while shopping. You may have well as seen a cardinal :). Whenever I am trying to decide if I should get something at TJ’s, I always tell myself that I will return it if I change my mind. I NEVER end up returning anything- it’s just a mind trick that I use to justify making the purchase!! That’s neat that your mom did make some returns- that has inspired me :). I really like the green sweater with hearts. The color is unexpected but it looks great.

    1. It was really cool and really comforting to us. Right? That’s great that you don’t return it! I hate returns. I try to be very careful shopping so I don’t need to do them. Thank you – it was my fave of the week.

  4. I love your hair as it is and I wish it was on my head! So that’s my vote, ha!

That green and white heart cardi is my favorite. Those Halaras look amazing on you too.

Spring shopping is always fun after a long, cold winter! I think those colorful shoes from Boden are fun!

    1. Thank you so much. Well, I at the very least need a trim.
That is my fave sweater, too.
I’ve already gotten my money’s worth on the Halaras.
It’s so fun! I do know that I spend much of summer in my rubber Birks and they are way more comfy than the leather. So, maybe this is a good buy for me.

  5. can you share a picture or link of your button down? I always want to layer but haven’t had luck with the right shirt. Kellyann showed a thing from amazon that was just the collar and like a bib that you can wear under things and I’m tempted to try it.

  7. I love your looks this week! I love the graphic tees on you, so I would keep on staying with a good thing. I love graphic tees too, and have several; my issue is that I always end up shrinking them. I may wear one today, actually, since we’re talking about this. I’ll just put a longer shirt underneath it in case it rides up. I’m seeing someone this afternoon- and I’d like to look cute. IYKYK

  8. I use to only wear skinny jeans but maybe the year before last I bought some kick crop jeans and some boot cut. Recently I tried skinny jeans on in the store and I was laughing so hard I couldn’t get them on. Once on, I realized they were kind of hot! I have no idea how I wore those everyday. 🤣 I am currently trying Old Navy straight jeans that are looser in the calf area but fit tighter in the thigh. Not sure I like them as they make me look shorter than 5’4″.

  9. I love a good graphic tee! There’s just something fun about them. I do try to stay away from the ones that you have to get really close to read, though. I hope you share as much as you want and need to about your mom. My mom died 21 years ago Tuesday, and I still pick up my phone thinking to call her. Every once in a while, I catch a whiff of Liz Claiborne perfume and know she’s close by. Oh, you have me wanting those Halaras so badly, but I just went through my jeans. I have so many! I agree with Kellyann about your hair…if you cut it off, make it into a topper and send to me?

  10. I love your green and white heart cardigan—I might say this every time you share it 😂those sandals are super cute! Love the color
I’ve never been one to wear a collared shirt under a sweater but you know my fave online shop – SSYS – they made a fitted button down with a great collar and it’s sleeveless! So it’s really just to wear underneath things but it’s come in so handy. I hope you’ve had a great day.

  11. I am starting to look forward to thrifting some spring things. I think next week will be a perfect week to go around the house and declutter and organize since the boys will be back in school and that will take me to March! I love that you can remember your mom with your shopping! I definitely miss showing her my outfits! Love your green heart cardigan, I remember seeing it: I love that it’s green and not red so you can wear it anytime really!

  12. You look great in graphic tees… I always feel like a round neck cuts me off so I rarely wear them but you’ve tempted me many times with the fun graphics you find. I love your nails and I, too, have been wearing my button down with a sweater over. I love the look! I am looking forward to spring wear but have hibernating with temps at -10… I’m wrapped in a blanket quite a bit! Thanks for the fashion inspiration!

  13. Those Boden sandals are so cute and springy! Don’t worry about what they might or might not match….go for it! It was hard to tell from the pictures on their website – do they have any kind of arch support? If they don’t, booooooo! These teacher feet cannot survive without arch support.

  14. Those are some awesome TJMaxx finds! I have not heard of rainbow flip flops, but I love those, as well as the Rothy’s dupes. I have some similar from Walmart that I love…so comfy. We wear the same size shoe. I have been wearing more winter things lately because of our arctic blast. I’m glad to get some wear in since we had such a warm January. I love my new TJMaxx sweater that looks like it has a shirt under it, but it’s all one piece. If they had other colors, I would have bought more! Hope you have a great weekend.
