What a weird week! But, it’s Friday so who cares? Hehe. I could use one of the above!

I am happy to link up with Andrea and Erika today to share some eclectic favorites that I collected on my camera roll.

I had off Monday for MLK day and then due to the cold we did online school from home on Wednesday. It was so nice not to have to get out. I actually had a nice day and got to respond to some emails from students and they did their work like good girls and boys.

We went back to school yesterday and today we have a pep rally at the end of the day. Send Advil.

Are you a fan of Nate Bargatze? Tom has been showing me and the kids clips of his stand up or skit comedy and we have watched a couple of his Netflix specials. We both hate that music and comedy happen so often on week nights rather than weekends and so late, but I said let’s live a little and we purchased tickets!

We have always enjoyed going to see comedy! So, I am proud of us for making plans.

I had chili envy during Snowpocalypse 2025. Everyone was making and posting their chili pics on social media. I had lentil soup and thought it would be enough. It wasn’t. But, I will tell you that lentils will clean out your system.

So, I made chili on Monday and it was good. Here you see the fat macaroni noodles from Trader Joe’s. and Frito’s Scoops. My chili is my preferred. It’s hard to go to someone’s house for chili when you don’t know their chili religion. I believe in noodles (only macaroni) on the side, cheese on the side, and the chips on the side. Let each do their own. You are gonna cook a pot of chili and throw in fat spaghetti strands? NO! My chili is also pretty tomato forward and has a dash of cinnamon and a dash of sugar to cut the acidity. My mom likes to say this is called “chili mac”. I grew up eating chili without noodles but when I met Tom I converted.

I made the most delish yogurt bowl that day, too. Frozen fruit, vanilla Greek yogurt, and granola.

I’m back to using Chobani creamer. Cookie Dough is my fave but they are all good. I like their stout cartons, too.

This stance cracked me up. EO was acting a little weird Monday like he was on high alert. Can you see his dog bite wound on the left? He looks like a doggie model. Blue steel.

I am ready to wear V Day sweaters! I like this green and white with pink trim because it’s kind of unexpected. I went into Old Navy out of cabin fever boredom Monday and I bought a long sleeve ribbed tee to wear under this for $4.99. I have never seen ON prices so low in store. It was literally like a garage sale. Jeans for $6.47, t-shirts for $8 or $5. I bought the aforementioned white ribbed long sleeve tee and two graphic tees. I guess they are getting ready for spring stuff. I get kinda giddy when I see the spring stuff come out in stores. Do you?

I bought this mix on a whim while I was in person grocery shopping…

It was on closeout for $2.80. I’m impressed and I tagged Chrissy Tiegen on IG and she said thank you!

My kids are cc cookie snobs and they were super impressed as well.

I talked about my hair woes in my Tuesday post in regards to wanting the L’ange Le Duo Grande to work for me. This is my hair clean (washed the night before) and curled with my regular one inch barrel curling iron:

I am due for a highlight, by the way. I think my last one was the day before Thanksgiving?

This is my daily makeup:

I have no mascara on. I only have a little eye liner done with a tiny brush and eyeshadow.

  1. At which store did you buy the Chrissy Tiegen CC cookie mix? I always keep a cookie mix in my pantry for a quick weeknight treat. I recently tried the Dolly Parton CC cookie mix – I liked it but it did have a different texture than a “normal” CC cookie. I also LOL’d at your Care Bear comment!

  3. Nate is so funny! We was in Lex last spring but we were out of town. I would have loved to see him. I just bought a heart sweatshirt from target, and it’s cute and comfy. I should have added it to my FF posts. EO look so handsome. Have a great weekend

    1. I can’t believe we’ve actually bought tickets and made a plan so far in advance! it’s not on brand for us. Oh, I want all the heart clothing. I am really trying to hold back. Show us next week!

  4. I’m not a CT fan at all but I can see how it would be neat to get a comment from her if you like her (and her cookie mix). I get excited when I see great sales in stores. Seeing new merchandise in a store is nice but there’s something about a clearance that is extra special :). Your hair looks good! Have a great weekend!

  6. Your humor in this post is my fav! I love your daily makeup- why don’t you wear mascara? I’m just curious. That’s one product I never leave home without, even if I’m going mostly makeup-less; the other one is lipstick. I’d wear the green sweater with hearts now if I were you! It’s so bright and fun. That red and white striped button down is from Old Navy last year! It’s like the blue and white one that you have, but I love the color and the wide stripe. I hope your Friday is great!

  9. We are the same way with show tickets; I almost always try to look for a matinee! LOL. It doesn’t help that we then have a minimum of 45 minutes or so drive home and we’re such early to bed people to begin with. But that said, I have never regretted buying tickets to a live show. I hope you have lots of fun!

  12. I have never heard of noodles in chili- I’m intrigued… In Nebraska chili is always served with a cinnamon roll on the side- it is delicious!

    Nate B is my favorite- he is amazing in person

    I’m taking a pic of your hair to my stylist- your hair is thicker so I know my dreams will not be realized..but that is the look I am hoping for!

  13. I know people have found really low prices in the store at ON, but I never have. Oh, well, it’s not like I need anything. I have two VD sweaters left over from my teaching days, but they’re both black. Now, you’re tempting me to get something lighter!

    My highlight of the week was a good appointment at the surgeon for Mike. He’s been walking more and more with his cane rather than a walker.

  14. That cookie mix looks delicious! I wonder if EO will have a scar from his wound. Mollie has a little scar on the side of her face. I think she and Albie got in a scuffle when she first came home. It’s her beauty mark! Enjoy your weekend!

  15. I put that Chobani coffee creamer on our shopping list but can only find it at one local grocery store. I think it’s the best. In a pinch I use regular half & half with a shot of coffee syrup. I read your by or bye products post this week and believe I ordered 1-2 things (probably things I don’t need but it’s always good to try products that come recommended from trusted sources – ha!). I just saw a reel this week about online school days and that not many districts were doing them any longer. What is your opinion? I have always, always wanted to be someone who worked in-person but in my new company, my department doesn’t show up half the time so I have had to “learn” to by a hybrid worker. It’s not terrible. I still have to find a dedicated workspace in my house, but the company provided the laptop and extra monitor and cords so it’s starting to be “ok” for me. An adjustment, but in a good way.

    Hope you had a great weekend! I just saw that in East TN it is supposed to be 58 degrees with bright sunshine on Wednesday – THAT is when we should get a weather day – ha!!! Looking forward to that.

      That would be a hard adjustment and I think you need social time after work! my friend plays pickleball after working from home a couple days a week. other days she goes out and runs errands to get out of the house.
