Ahhh…Friday. We do have school Monday and Tuesday, but that seems do-able at this point. Maybe?

I am linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some faves from the week. Just like my brain, they will be all over the place.

I had this breakfast bowl a couple of times this week. I am low key obsessed with sweet potatoes. I didn’t think much of them for the first 51 years of my life – lol. This includes Amylu chicken breakfast sausage – love, two eggs, and a tiny bit of shredded swiss/gruyere cheese from Trader Joe’s. “Low key” is teen speak for “kind of”. You’re welcome!

For some reason, my Amazon is set to Spanish. I honestly think it happened in Spain. Isn’t that funny?

This Spanish teacher is “grading” the message and they even have all the accents right.

A couple of patio mornings really energized me this week. Also, I made sure my coffee pot was set and ready and the kitchen was very clean before bed this week. It makes such a difference to “ready” your mornings, no? On another note, last week I went to bed at 10 each night and I was dragging all week. This week I have put myself to bed at 9:30 and even though it’s only 30 minutes, I feel so much better! Are you like that, too?

Eddie Otis has been “eating” our outside doormats.

My solution is to not have doormats. Tom says he has to learn right from wrong. Um, when, Tom? I was telling him no and bad dog and not to do it and I swear this dog was moving his lips and mouth and mocking me.

We had a fire one night this week and need to do this more! We have a gas starter and just used a fake log, but we do have real wood. I guess we were just testing it out.

I did a dark green press on mani this week – way better than the long oval shape.

I started using my candy cane Chapstick again. Love it!

I wanted to buy these in Spain and looked at them in one store. Well, guess who placed an order from Spain? Me!

My Wednesday night outing this week was special! I have been wanting Mason to try this Venezuelan restaurant since i went with Tom. They have very limited days and hours and we finally made it happen!

We ordered choripan (bread with cheese and chorizo) and fried yuca along with some broccolini.

It was a treat!

With the holidays approaching, I liked mirabellecreations’ recent Instagram post:

And, this by Mel Robbins:

If you want to be outside more and it’s just too cold for you, designate an outside blanket that can easily be washed. This is mine:

And, yes I do look like the Home Alone burglars, but your Dad was right, hats really do keep in the heat.

So, what made you smile this week? Any faves?

Amy

  1. I am looking forward to my 2 day work week next week – woo hoo!!! I am the same as you, going to bed 30 minutes earlier makes all the difference. And I always have my coffee pot programmed and ready to go the night before. I love coming home from the gym to the smell of hot coffee!

Love your new shoes and the Venezuelan restaurant looks good – glad you got to take Mason!

  2. I LOVE my candy cane Chapstick! I use it year round, though, and stock up on it each year at Christmas. I love your new flats from Spain! I think they’ll be a fun addition to holiday outfits. I also recently ordered some new flats; one pair is red and the other is neutral, and they have little bows on them. They’re cute! I can’t wait to wear the red ones. I love that you and Mason checked out the restaurant together finally!

A moment from the week that made me smile was seeing my little great nieces in Colorado helping their mom make sourdough bread this week. I took some starter with me and taught Erika how to make it, and she’s making it every week and has taught her girls. You should see their tuck and fold technique! The four year old’s are amazing and could probably teach someone else at this point! I hope you have a great weekend!

    1. This has nothing to do with your reply, but I have noticed your profile pic on Amy’s posts and didn’t know if you realized you haven’t changed your picture? I’m only mentioning as a helpful tool. I found your blog from Amy’s blog. I have commented on Amy’s blog once or twice and I live in Bowling Green, KY.

    2. I have no problem using it year round, but honestly I’ve hardly used any chapstick this year because of the coconut oil and the laniege. I swear my lips have never been in better shape. Do you let the coconut oil go over your lips?
Can’t wait to hear about the flats! Please tell!
That is so awesome about the bread!

  3. I read your blog every day. I love the glimpse into your home and family life. EO cracks me up, lol. Dogs have such character. My last dog used to huff and puff loudly if she was scolded. She was so funny.

  4. How fun that you ordered the shoes from Spain and how funny that your Amazon thinks you are in Spain! I frequently get podcast ads in Spanish since they are based on location and I am in Texas. Hope you have a good weekend. PS. Mollie is leaving the tree alone so far, but did destroy my little 2 ft. tall snoopy inflatable! Oh well?

  5. I actually laughed out loud at your Home Alone look! If you come up with a way to keep EO from eating what he shouldn’t, let me know. Jack will eat just about anything so many of the doors to rooms are closed. He’s learned to jump up on the bed or a chair to get to whatever he thinks might be tasty. Those shoes…yes, I would have totally ordered them, too! Are they comfortable and supportive? If so, I’d love the link!

    1. Ha! Not my best look. I’m struggling with patience with EO some days.
I don’t think I will wear the shoes to school. They are super well made but I wouldn’t say supportive. I did see women walking all over Madrid in them. They are called Cayumas if you want to google them.
I also might get Rothys mary janes for Christmas. That might me a good bet for you?

  6. This is a good reminder to get back to making breakfast ahead of time. I like an egg bake or even hard boiled eggs. Your shoes are so cute! I’m glad you bought them! I have something from Spain that I regret not buying. It was a mosaic bottle opener in Barcelona. I thought I’d see something like it again, but I never did.How fun that you went to the restaurant again! I need to get to bed/sleep earlier, but it is not happening lately. Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you! I love a bowl or a bake, too. Thank you! Oh no! Do you think you could find it online?
The 30 minutes more was so worth it! I can’t even tell you how much better I felt.

  7. Your Eddie Otis and my viszla Edgar sound like two peas in a pod in terms of “I can hear you perfectly well, mum, but I am not listening.”

Last Easter, a Lindt gold bunny went missing from our kitchen counter. A few hours later, the gold bunny’s red collar and bell turned up in Eddie’s bed 😩 – he must’ve eaten the chocolate with the wrapper still on, even though he knows perfectly well the kitchen is off limits.
