Limping across the finish line to the weekend here. Who decided we should have a five day work week? We need to talk. I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for some favorites of the week!
This black Impress mani went 11 days and that was good for me. I then went bare for two days.

And, Wednesday night I did the Kate Spade set. I am having a bit of trouble typing!

I have worn my new Kendra Scott Yellow Rose every day and I love them!

These were another Big Boo rec and I find myself wearing them almost every day lately.

I haven’t done it much this year, but I treat myself sometimes on Fridays to an egg mcmuffin.

I am also trying to ‘take myself out’ to do a little fun shopping during the week. This is challenging with most closing at 5:00 but I am trying to add a little fun in my week.

I don’t remember where I saw this recommended, but I love this new shampoo and conditioner both for the smell and how my hair feels. Coupled with my new Trader Joe’s leave in conditioner and my Unite detangler – yes!

A couple of weeks ago I was in Target and grabbed these fun socks for my kids. They will laugh but they love wearing goofy socks.

And, look at this cute spoon rest!

I am so happy I ordered this pack of to go cups. We have enjoyed having them for coffee or tea on the go.

We have had a lot of rain this week and this picture I sent to Tom made me laugh and I thought I would share.

I put this post it note in Tom’s food bag (he takes yogurt and fruit) and he added the ‘2’ and sent me the photo. Such a Tom thing to do.

I know. I know. There are better choices but I love my pumpkin spice so much all frothed up. I also was able to find the brown butter chocolate chip again!

Combating the early darkness with my lights…

And burn your candles! Don’t ‘save’ them!

Enjoying this…

Thank goodness for Kroger pick up on a rainy day and a kid to carry all the stuff in! You all had lots of thoughts on my grocery post – love to talk about it! The carnitas bowls were a big hit Tuesday night and then on Wednesday we had breakfast for dinner.

Starting to do some fall screen savers at school!

Funny story if I can tell it in writing…
We have a friend who rented a small airplane hangar for a small plane to teach the son to fly. Well, he sold the plane and needed to vacate the rented hangar.
He texted Tom Friday night after dark and asked if Tom was available to help him move something from an airplane hangar. Tom asked if he would need a disguise. It just sounded very James Bond. And, when Mason asked where Tom was and I told him he also laughed at how crazy it sounded.
Anyway, it was good for a chuckle. I hope I made my students chuckle a bit this week. I really feel like I’m a not so successful stand up comic many days!
Any favorites this week? Please share!
Amy
I love your blog, and how you post early. I have been trying to shop at least one night each week after work too. It breaks up the work week a bit. Have a great weekend.

Hey, as long as it wasn’t a body they were moving! LOL. It does sound very clandestine and a bit sinister. I nearly broke down and bought those same kendra scott nails to try but I figured I needed to use up all my colorstreet wraps first.

I enjoy your humor and Tom’s. It reminds me of the relationship I have with my husband. A sense of humor is the glue to marriage

Love the new mani! I haven’t been very productive once I’ve gotten home because I just want to put on my pjs. I’ve loved a couple of rainy days. The note is sweet. I wish we could have a 4 day week! Even with one work day for teachers to make 5. Haha
Have a great weekend/

Our oldest daughter and SIL will be here later today!! My youngest daughter is getting engaged tonight!! She doesn’t know it but then they’ll come to our favorite restaurant and celebrate! I have a couple surprises planned for them. We are very excited and I couldn’t sleep so I’ve been up since 5pm! I may need a shaken espresso this afternoon!! Hahaha off to Santa Clara this weekend for a fun get away and to watch the SF Niners vs the Seattle Seahawks. Not a fan of either team but my husband and daughters (soon to be) fiancée sure are! And they were my dad’s favorite team too. Sure wish he were still here to be able to share in all the fun that will be happening this next year!! Happy Friday!!

I think it’s a great idea to take yourself to do something after work sometimes in the week. I can see how it would break up the monotony of work-home-work-home. I honestly should do that more myself, but I also don’t mind being at home a lot. I do love my nights out, though! It was fun having three of them this week, and I love it when work doesn’t feel like work. My favorite nights were Monday and last night- celebrating Marilyn and meeting her friends was a fun thing, and book club last night was full of laughter. I’m grateful for such moments! I hope you have a great day, my friend.

This week it was literally only 30 minutes but it helped and I bought two blouses, got a free Sherpa with purchase and got a cup of popcorn and a cookie! lol! I rushed home to take Eddie otis to the vet for an xray to see if he had swallowed batteries – he didn’t. So that was fun!
That is really so special that you got to do that. her party looked perfect!

I love your black nails but the one’s with the green on are just fabulous! They’re something a bit different!
Your fun shopping trips sound great and good on you for treating yourself to an egg mcmuffin. I used to love those when I was much younger and worked in McDonalds.
Aww! That note in the food bag is so sweet!

I always thought the school week could be four days long and just tack on the extra hours to make up the amount we’d spend in five days. Then, one year, we missed a lot of school. The board applied for and got permission to extend our days by an hour to make up for a couple of those days. Let me tell you, that last hour felt like an entire week all on its own. I was dragging. The kids were dragging. It wasn’t that I couldn’t find something to teach (there’s always something left over or out), but we were just done!
Love your manicures. I got a pedicure yesterday in a midnight blue! You and your husband were definitely made for each other. Love the post-it and its reuse. I used to buy my grands socks from the dollar spot at Target and send them in care packages. They were the highlights of their days when those boxes came.
Have a wonderful and looooong weekend, Amy!
