Wow! September literally flew, did it not? I am happy to link up with Andrea and Erika to share some things that made me happy this week.
First off, I finished this on Sunday. I would say it dragged a bit about 3/4 of the way in and I think it could have been shorter. But, I really liked the story and I feel like I learned and became curious about something I really hadn’t known about before.

I did something nice for my friend Heather and she reciprocated with this bag of popcorn left on my porch. Have you all tried it? It is the best bagged popcorn I have ever tried! It makes Simply Pop taste like packing peanuts.

Monday at school was rough. We found out we had had a gun threat and we would be on a level 3 security level. Our attendance was very low that day but only a handful of teachers stayed at home and the students that were there were wonderful and we did business as usual but did not let students out of class as much.
Ugh – I thought incorrectly that metal detectors would keep this from happening, I guess. I literally sat in my dark classroom during my planning that day because I was just kind of depressed about it.

And, I don’t blame parents for keeping their kids at home. I probably would, too.
Look what came in for me at the library! I fought traffic to go pick it up after school on Wednesday!

I ordered the classic Sambas! I love them! The sizing is super weird and I’m hoping they stretch out just a bit. If you order them, I am normally an 8 and I got a 6.5. I did not find the platforms to be comfortable at all and my heel slipped out.

I wore these to school one day this week. I can’t believe how much the kids love them. I have students that I don’t know stop me.

I saw little milk like England has in the store recently!

Take the time to send that text. Look at the sweet text from my friend Dan:

I’m pretty sure he only talked to one person. It made my day!
Oh my gosh! Does my city know I just finished Mormon Wives? We are getting a Swig dirty soda place.

I ordered a fall candle from local Lendenwood Goods. Love it!

I ordered a new Donna Karan that came with a perfume of the same scent for the same price as just the deodorant. I dated my last stick and it’s still going. Actually, it was $4 less!

My co-worker told me that these were really good and she was so right! I heated in the oven on my air fryer setting and we had them with a burrito bowl this week.

Tom’s co-worker had a happy hour after work and I met Tom. What a lovely setting!

Erica sent this to me. This may be the fall bucket list you’ve been looking for!

Haha!
I hope you have many favorites from this week!
Amy
Yeah, I felt like the first 1/2 of the book or so while she was “in country” was really riveting and while the second 1/2 was important to show the lack of empathy for those returning and the troubles they had adjusting was a bit longer and sort of dragged on. My sister and I have done #5 on that bucket list before!

That bucket list is the best – thanks for making me laugh!!!
I am so very sorry about the gun threat at your school. It is happening more and more and needs to stop, I don’t know what these kids are thinking, do they want to be famous??? It’s so sad.
So sweet of your friend Dan to send you that text – I love that and I am sure he talked to lots of people!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Right? It was so funny!
You said it well, Kellyann, and I’m sorry for it being a Friday Fave – it definitely was not, but the students were. Can you imagine having to deal with that as a teen?
He is so sweet to send that!
You too!

Hi Amy! Those Sambas are all the rage in Florida too! The only store that had them in stock would only give you one shoe to try on because so many people were just walking out with both! I actually found the left shoe (haha) very flat with no support but maybe I was trying the wrong size? Since you’re on your feet all day, how do you find the fit? They’re so stinkin’ cute especially with the colored stripes! We’re having the same gun threats here and the sheriffs have taken to “perp” walking these kids-I hope it works-haven’t our young people been through enough??

I really like them! I think I am stretching them out just the hair that I needed. That’s so hilarious but so smart. Why do people steal? Crazy! They are quite flat. I have come to realize that everyone has a different foot – arch, etc. I find them very comfy and my feet don’t hurt after 8 hours standing and walking. I also think I need the right sock. I wore some with more padding and felt great. I would like colored stripes but went with the classic.
They are going around right now and the ones who did ours were very severely punished.
Yeah, we have enough!

That popcorn is so good! I haven’t bought it, but had some of this summer my family had.
I have purchased those arepas and those are delicious!

That is scary about the news at school about the gun threat. It’s so sad but I understand parents keeping their kids home.

I’m sorry about the hard days at school. What a world we are living in! I hope the weekend is the mental rest and reset you need. Thanks for the popcorn tip. It’s my favorite snack, but I haven’t tried that brand yet.

We had a threat that was on social media yesterday, so we had extra law enforcement the past couple of days. The bucket list is realistic! The text from you friend- so sweet. I hope you have a great weekend.

I am so sorry you, your colleagues, and your students had to go through this. My granddaughter’s school had a bomb threat last year, and my daughter (who works for the schools) had to be one of the people to go in and search. Luckily, it was nothing, but I was so scared and crying.
OK, now, I want the Sambas, too. Actually, I’ve been thinking about them for a while. I want to try them on in person instead of messing with ordering online. And, I also want that pool in my backyard!
I love that bucket list! #7 is definitely me!
I hope your week is much, much better than last week!

Thank you. It’s really so horrible.
Ok, go to Dick’s and try the big kid sizes if your foot is 8.5 or smaller. Take the socks you would wear.
Thank you!
