It’s a two post day because I also wanted to link up with Joyce!

1. What’s the last thing you completely overreacted to?

What don’t I overreact to? Just kidding. I have really worked on that. I was probably upset that we (my husband) forgot to put the trash on the street the night before trash day. I have given over the trash and recycling part of my brain space to him and he needs to worry about it. Not me! He always thinks he will be up before the trash truck comes and do it in the morning, but sometimes he misses it and I just think it’s something so easy to do the night before.

I guess I overreact the most to things that people make harder than they need to be?

2. Your top five snacks?

String cheese, popcorn, all cheese I guess, all chips I guess, and any kind of dip! I am definitely a more savory/salty snacker.

3. What smell always brings back some type of memory? Elaborate.

Gosh, I am really big on smells so it’s hard to answer this. I have all kinds of memories when I smell certain things.

4. What’s something you learned from the last book you read?

The last couple of books I have read have been about new chapters/new beginnings for people. You can start over. You can make a happier life. You just have to be open to the things that life brings to you.

5. What’s the next thing on your to-buy list? Will you make that purchase before the end of the year?

I just can’t stop thinking about sneakers. I am wearing them more and I feel like I need more.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

There has been a touch of fall in the air lately and I love it!

What about you?

Amy

  1. I am not enjoying the feel of fall in the air.. I’ve gotten used to August and September feeling like a continuation of summer and it has been downright chilly with morning temps in the 40’s and highs in the 60’s. It’s that odd time of year that I know I’ll regret it if I pack away summer clothes and bring out the fall stuff and yet I could really use some of that fall stuff here and there.

  2. What don’t I overreact to? I laughed because I am the exact same way. I agree about things not needing to be harder than they are. I’ve had to give up on my control issues the last few years and learn to let the small things go. They’re just not important, and it was bringing me strife trying to make sure things were a certain way. On a much lighter note, I am definitely a savory snacker. I hope you have a good day!

    1. Yup! Guilty! I have big reactions about good things, too, though. Now that I have four people living here full time, the house isn’t as I would want. It’s also not the way I would want because of puppy stuff everywhere. But, I know this is a season and I am embracing the good parts of it.
You said it – control. I think my need for control is a form of anxiety and I have really tried to let the little things go, too.
I didn’t want to say this, but I believe in a little dessert after each meal. Eat breakfast and then have a little tiny piece of sweet cinnamon roll or banana bread. Eat a savory snack and then have a tiny piece of chocolate! Ha!
      You too!

  3. We have a saying in our house-not my donut. We use it a lot, and anytime I start to get hung up on something that is someone else’s job/responsiblity I remind myself it’s not my donut. Or hubs and I remind each other. It’s something we laugh about here, but does help with perspective. We have to put our trash out in the morning because bears love garbage. Hubs is an early riser and he sometimes sets an alert on his phone so he doesn’t forget. I read your travel post too. The DK Eyewitness guides are my favorite and the ones I find easiest to use, but I like Rick Steves too. We plan flights, hotels, and have a general daily plan but keep things very loose as we like to leave plenty of room for spontaneous fun and interesting things we might stumble across. We are not ‘group travelers’ and we like to get off the tourist path and eat where the locals eat. Have a great day!

    1. Such a good reminder!
That is how we like to travel too!
For our next trip I’m still struggling a bit with how many things to book. I think I know but I have been doing that overthinking thing again!

  4. Somehow, even here in North Florida, we have had that touch of fall. I went out this morning to pull some weeds and noticed the tinge of cool. This is REALLY early for cool air but no complaints!

  5. We travel a fair amount and I am a terrible planner, but my husband is a researcher by nature, so he does ALL the planning – flights, hotels (in Europe we always do AirBnB), dinners, tours… so now I’m spoiled 😉 I am like you – I want to walk through residential neighborhoods, and nothing I love more than a grocery store in another country!

  6. HI Amy,

I much prefer savory snacks to sweets. I’m noticing Autumn only because I am out searching for it. Trying to find it in nature. Saturday we’re going on a hike in the mountains and Fall comes earlier there than in the valley or the foothills. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year!

  7. We definitely can snack together…I love all of these snacks! We have had a tease of fall this week, but next week is full on summer. It may be our hottest week all summer long! I am so ready for fall temperatures.

  8. My trash is put out at night because the garbage trucks run at 3:30am!! Yep, that early. There was a feel of fall in the air this morning; temperature was 47 degrees.

  9. How funny, my husband and I forgot about trash a couple weeks ago and they came early in the morning that day, was so frustrated about it! I love all these questions and answers! Thanks for sharing 🥰
