It’s Monday but who cares? Ha! Just kidding! It’s my first Monday of summer if you don’t count Memorial Day. To those still in school, I am deeply sorry. I am linking up today with Sarah and Holly to share my weekend.

I’m going to start with Thursday evening and a spontaneous happy hour with Mason at Noche. I had plans that fell through and Mason had later plans so at around 6:00 we enjoyed chips and queso with chorizo in the cool restaurant that is a renovated church…

And, we both tried the hibiscus paloma and it was really good!

And, Friday was my first pool day at Erica’s country club…

The clouds were really something and there was a rainbow kind of thing but it hadn’t rained…can you see it?

We had lunch there and had a salad with grilled chicken and shared some truffle fries…

Remember how I said I really liked the High Noon tequila? Well, Truly has jumped on board with tequila seltzers, too. I haven’t seen them in stores, but her club had them.

Ok, now it felt like summer! I went home around 5:00 and actually cooked dinner that I had partially prepped in the morning.

Saturday I had to run some errands. I want to try to do most of them on weekdays in the summer, but my timing hadn’t worked out this week. Dollar Tree has great cards at 50 cents each. How can you pay $5 a card? They had lots of graduation and Father’s Day cards.

Did you know they also have gift cards now?

I also went to Aldi for the first time in a long time.

We had a grad party and a housewarming party to attend and I took cards and gift cards to the grad party and this Mason jar with hydrangeas to the housewarming. I didn’t take any photos at either party, so this hydrangea is the only proof that we went.

It was rainy and cool most of the weekend and I read a lot of my current book:

Proof of our weather:

We had friends joining us on the boat Sunday, but the weather wasn’t great and they decided to come another time. Tom, Eddie Otis, and I still went out and it drizzled a bit but it turned out to be pretty nice the whole time we were out!

We usually get the spinach salad with salmon when we eat on the boat.

Right after we ate, the weather looked like it was going to turn so we high tailed it in and missed the rain.

For dinner, I made BLTs, loaded baked potatoes, and corn on the cob.

And, that’s it!

What was the highlight of your weekend?

Cheers,

Amy

  2. I’m going to look for that book. I used to follow the author in the early days of blogging, back before she had written a book and I liked her voice. Sounds like a fun weekend. our weather wasn’t great here, but this week we’re warm and once we get towards the weekend looks like lots of sun for some good boat days. Have a nice week!

    1. Oh I didn’t know she blogged. It’s not the best written and it’s a little cheesy now that I am almost done, but I’ve enjoyed it for sure. You too!

  3. Hey, new to your blog. Looks like a great weekend! I have family who live outside Louisville and I know some day we’ll be moving north; wonder if we’ll end up there!

  4. Thank you for thinking of me still grinding in school! 😁 When I sit on that plane the day after my last workday I will probably sleep all over the Atlantic…

Oh that pool day look so nice! Drinks and good food and good company – perfect!

My highlight this weekend was that the water was warm enough for swimming! Lovely! We sat at the dock and chatted with some neighbors, did some sailing, some swimming, some fika…

  5. Your pool day looks amazing. The rainbow is so pretty. The boat day looks even better with cutie EO. Good tip about cards! Kroger used to have $.99 , but I don’t think they do anymore. I need to hit up dollar store. Happy Monday!

    1. Yes and yes! So cool! I’m so happy he is taking to the boat – otherwise we would not be doing it much this year. I don’t think Kroger does either. I was in a pinch and had to buy a super expensive card there recently.

  6. It sounds like a great weekend to kick off your summer! The queso and BLT dinner look delicious! Yea for a pool day! I’m hoping to go to the pool this week. We were going to go this weekend, but had already left Mollie in the crate for some errands and didn’t want to confine her again. Hope you have a great week!

  8. Well, I have to know that it’s Monday, but only one more Monday after today! I love when churches are renovated into something else. They always look so neat! Your hibiscus paloma looks delicious. I am not much of a tequila drinker, but I love a paloma with vodka. Your country club day is what summer days are made for. Enjoy! Eddie Otis is getting so big, but what a good pup! Have a great week!

  9. Oh, I think I need a friend who has a country club membership! The pool looks wonderful. Eddie Otis appears to be taking to boating quite well. My weekend involved just chilling on the back patio and starting a new crochet project.

      1. There’s some local pools (I’d probably prefer the one on base) but I think we’d just pay-as-we-go because a membership wouldn’t be worth it with kids who can’t swim. We always had memberships when I was a kid!

      2. Sometimes that makes more sense. When we did have a membership we were more inclined to have Daddy meet us at the pool after work for just an hour or so, though. My kids say not to call Tom “Daddy” but I just did it. That is the fastest way to teach them to swim, too. Just go a lot! It’s amazing!
