I will tell you about the weekend; don’t worry! I have two college graduates! And it was Mother’s Day this weekend – and Mason was in a play that ran from Thursday to last night – Whew! It was a full one! But today I am joining the Share Our Lives ladies here for this month’s topic…
5 favorite and 5 least favorite foods

If you a regular reader you know that I love and appreciate good food. The older I get the more bougie my food tastes get, I think. But this is also a good thing because I am not willing to waste calories on mediocre food or foods I don’t love. I think had I answered this question even 5 years ago I would have said more sweet things in my first list, but I think I have changed.
Top 5:

- Potatoes
- Good bread – bad bread doesn’t tempt me. I won’t touch a bread basket if I am in danger of losing a tooth.
- Cheese
- Eggs in most any form, but I don’t want a runny yolk
- Good salads and mediterranean are one of my favorites. I like all salads, though. Just don’t put nuts or pine nuts in it. I like salads that involve most all vegetables and fruit combos, too, like spinach and mandarin oranges. I love vegetables both cooked and raw.
Bottom 5:
- Nuts! I have never liked nuts. Put nuts in your baked goods and then I will not touch them. I do love peanuts and pistachios. I hate pine nuts, too.

2. lima beans and peas – nope! I taught my sisters how to pretend to eat your peas but actually put them in your napkin.

3. Lamb, duck, scallops – I don’t know. Just don’t like them. Oh, or squid or octopus. Yes, I have tried them. Not a fan. I could honestly do without lots of the meat family.
4. Green peppers – too harsh. I don’t really like red or yellow, either, but they seem more palatable.
5. Olives – neither color appeal to me. Green are too briny and black have no taste but bad texture. I do like dill pickles, though, so you would think I would like green olives. I don’t like capers, either.
I couldn’t even make myself find pictures of the things I hate.
That was fun! Do you agree or disagree with me on any of these foods?
Amy
I like nuts but not in baked goods! Same with raisins (though those I don’t really like at all but I really do not like them in baked goods either). However I do love eating trail mix when hiking or raw cashews, pecans, almonds etc. Not a fan of olives, lamb, duck, squid, octopus, most things in the meat family either. My dislike list could have been SO MUCH longer than 5.

I get it! I think they ruin them! I like raisins in Raisin Bran, but other than that they just aren’t necessary. Ha – I could have added more, too.

You did have a big weekend!
Peas! How could I forget how much I hate peas! Again, my kids would eat them but I never really make them.

Congrats on the grads and wow, what a weekend!
I’m not a fan of green peppers either, but I like just about everything else. Not a huge fan of lima beans or peas on their own but if they’re in something I don’t mind.

I’m with you on lima beans. They made my list too. In reading these lists today I’m realizing there are not a whole lot of foods I don’t like. I like what others are listing as favorites, but I like their least favorites too. Have a nice week!

I didn’t bother with pictures of the foods I don’t like either. I mean, really, who wants to go looking for a picture of liver lol!

I disagree on scallops and olives. I agree with you on all of your favorites though. When I have a salt craving I just want a green olive stuffed with garlic 😋 Although I love scallops I won’t eat squid or octopus. 🤢

I agree on all of your favorite foods! I always get a little sad when I hear someone put a nut inside a brownie, ha! Just pure chocolate please! I don’t like olives either, or any of the meats you mentioned. This is fun to read about peoples likes/dislikes!

We would really do well hanging out! Lol! I don’t think you had food in the Airbnb – I would have required charcuterie (made by me!) and candy!

Oh, this was fun! I agree 100% with your five likes. My kids all liked runny eggs and would dip their toast into it. My brother taught them that. The only thing is I don’t mind nuts in my salads.
As for the nopes…I do like lots of nuts, especially cashews. I can’t even open a container, or I’ll just keep eating them. I don’t like black olives…they’re disgusting. But, green olives I can take every once in a while. Nope to all of number 3. Scallops…again the texture…gives me the shudders just thinking about them. I do love green peppers and will just eat them with salt. And, if the lima beans are cooked just right, I love them!
What a fun way to learn more about you!

I cringed when I saw the photo of lima beans! Nope! And beets! Yuck! I don’t like olives either. My husband is from Croatia, so he cooks squid and octopus (with the ink!), and other foods that I refuse to eat. I don’t like fast food. I love avocados, raspberries, salads with veggies and nuts, but no fruit allowed! I love good French pastries, my overnight oats, and many breakfast foods. I could live on my French toast with sliced almonds and fresh raspberries and a hot cup of coffee! I like simple foods! Great post!

I love bread! I think I could survive on bread and butter! But like you said; it needs to be good bread – hard to find in Florida btw. And I love nuts in my bread! 😄

Yes to bread but hell no to nuts! Ok, here is your challenge – there has to be a nice little bakery in FL. What city? I will find for you? Also, some supermarkets have nice loaves that they bake in house. I bet you like dark breads? Our northern German family does!

That is a challenge! Ok, I would love it if you give it a go, we’re in Fort Lauderdale! They have Publix and Windixie, no luck with the bread there…

This was fun to read! I couldn’t participate in this post, because I will literally eat and/or try anything. My favorite food is probably seafood of any kind, and my least favorite thing to eat is a vegetable, the little green peas. Even though I don’t love them, I would eat them if I were at someone’s house and they were put before me. I am also not a fan of any type of game, so I am with you on that one! This was fun to read!

I don’t think I’m as adverse to nuts as you are but I only like them plain — not mixed in baked goods or salads or anything like that. Yes, please give me a good salad and some good bread and I am a happy camper!

True! You see yachties everywhere! And they party like crazy!

I love potatoes, I don’t know how they didn’t make it onto mu list. Any sort will do, roast, mashed or jacket.
I am not a fan of nuts either, they really do ruin some lovely food.
