It’s Monday and that means it’s time to link up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday.

How was your weekend?
Let’s start with Thursday. School was crazy because the fire alarm went off and we had to go outside, wait for the fire department, and that was only first period!

I took a pic of some senior girls in my class and then showed them!

We have a coffee cart that comes around 2nd period and my class was doing independent research so I offered to let them get some stuff. I got an extra coffee, a Diet Coke, and a bag of chips because I was having a longer day than normal.

It was National Margarita day apparently, so even though it was raining, I had to participate with my Skinny Marg! Ernie participated as well.

I got a surprise! Mason came home Thursday instead of Friday for Spring Break! I thought he would need some time Friday to pack and finish up. Their college spring break is really early because they have to end the semester before Derby due to its proximity to the race track. We ordered Mediterranean and Mason picked it up with me and picked up Kroger with me. So, yes, we had take out Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This is so abnormal for us, but I was doing my conferences so it’s ok.

Friday I have no photos, but I had a decent day, finished my late hours, came home and visited with my college kids and we ordered pizza.
Saturday morning I made a yummy omelet for myself and piddled around doing laundry, cleaning, and random stuff.

Instead of a coffee shop (which Mason and I hadn’t done in weeks), we decided to do a cheese shop.

It was super cute but pricey!
We came home and Mason and Jack hung out and I made myself go back out to do some returns and errands. Before I left, I put the bread dough that had been rising in the oven.
I asked Tom to take it out when it was done. I am in the blue and Tom is in the grey:

Argh. Anyway, the bread was done! Mason helped me make salad, hot dogs (bougie ones from Fresh Market Tom wanted), broccoli, and potato wedges.

Everyone was home Saturday night so that was really nice.
Sunday morning when I got up Ernie was guarding both of his brothers’ doors:

I did some really low key St. Pat’s decor this weekend:

I was motivated Sunday to get my two meals done for Erica and I – burger bowls and pizza bowls (this time with the added cottage cheese mixture) – and taco meat for a taco and Spanish rice dinner either tonight or tomorrow.
Here’s my secret:

I add a bit to the taco meat along with the taco seasoning packet.
It feels great to have this ready to go. I took a break from meal prep last weekend, too.

Yesterday Tom had to work on a broken toilet in the basement so that involved some trips to Home Depot, phone calls to me, measurements I have to take (I really shouldn’t be trusted to correctly use a tape measure!), and you know the drill.
It was so cold Saturday we couldn’t even be outside – or we have gotten soft and it felt super cold. Yesterday it warmed up and was really sunny. Apparently we are in the 60s this week until Thursday. It is so nice, but I feel like spring fever and senioritis is coming on sooner because of it?
Now, we have 5 five day weeks until my spring break. That seems like a really long stretch!
I’m excited for all the college parents who have kids coming home for all or part of spring break!
Tell me something about your weekend! I apologize for getting behind on comments last week. I do read and appreciate all of them!
Amy
Yay for getting that long week of conferences behind you and having everybody home again.

Hope you have a super week!

He thinks he is! Oh, I’m so excited for you! Buy all his favorites and spoil him. Mine told me last night they were going to cook a mediterranean meal for me – ok? It’s going to be comedy!

You kill me! That was so funny! (I’m talking about your bread text conversation if you didn’t get that…) I had to show it to my husband ’cause it was so hilarious!
I’m in the wonderful state of not knowing if it’s a weekday or the weekend! We stayed home in the city apartment to be with little soldier girl, since she’s only home for the weekends. She’s on a bus for seven hours every Friday and then back again on Sundays! But she says she’s so tired that it’s quite nice.
Have a great week-before-break-week!

My break isn’t for 5 weeks!

Great post! Coffee cart! That gave me a flashback to years ago when I worked in England and the tea lady came around with her cart. Love the visit to the cheese shop and the board – yummy! Bougie hot dogs, lol! Tom is so funny and thanks for the reminder, I need to get my St. Pat’s decor up. Have a great week!

Your text with Tom is hilarious. The cheese board looks so good. We thought our charcuterie dinner out was expensive too, but then I remembered how much food prices have gone up. Yea for spring break…yours and the kids. Mine have different breaks, and are both going to Florida! Fun for them, but I sure miss them!

Ha – thank you. Right? I go back and forth between thinking all is so pricey and then remembering my grocery bill. Mine is still 5 long weeks away, but I am taking off a day to spend with them this week with zero guilt.
Aww, man. Yes, I get that!

I just about spit out my Diet Coke when I saw your texts with your husband! My husband would do something like that, but he wouldn’t be near as funny. I love the photo of Ernie protecting his brothers’ doors! How fun that you go out with your son! My youngest and I used to go to drag shows together when he was in Indy Improv. They would host different drag artists. Every once in a while, we would go for a drink (coffee for him, Diet Coke for me). Now, he has a girlfriend, and Mom is left out…actually, I’m thrilled he has a girlfriend.
That time between the start of the second semester and Spring Break seemed like an eternity especially when our snow days would have been used up, and we’d have to go on otherwise off days.
Have a wonderful week!

Yay for so much family time with your boys. The photo of Ernie outside their doors is precious. Tom’s foto 😆😆this got me thinking – does Tom speak any Spanish because of you? Your boys had you in class, right? Do they speak fluently with you ?

Yes, it’s really filled my cup. I’m taking so many photos right now of Ernie. Tom has never had formal Spanish, but I tried to start lessons with him last summer and we only made time for one. He understands a bit. The boys and I have full conversations in Spanish and Tom feels left out. They both made it to AP Spanish! I would say they are both pretty good. We want to take them to Spain for graduation and are looking into it for fall break.

Thank you! That can definitely be good. I like when I have nothing on the calendar. Now I am starting to put festivals and things that are coming up on my calendar in case I feel up to them.
