It’s Monday and time to link up with Sarah and Holly to talk about our weekends.
I had a busy end of the week last week. I said “yes” to everything that was on offer! So, by the time Friday night hit, I was ready to be home for the weekend!
You heard about my Wednesday in Friday Favorites, but I went to the holiday pop up bar:

Thursday night, the besties wanted to get together so we met at Mojito:

I wore “Sweater Weather”:

Their food and drink never disappoint!
Friday at school I made it festive:

And, it was time for another class to have their food day:

It was so much fun!
Friday after school, we had our holiday party for staff:

The turn out was scary low, but I met a couple of new teachers and Erica and I made it fun and shut it down! It ended at 5:45, so don’t get any ideas.

Also, they had tons of food left so I got to take a to go box home for Jack and he was thrilled! Tom had his own leftovers from one of his lunches and I had my fill at the party. They had pretzel nuggets and beer cheese, homemade chips and pico, popcorn chicken, and pizza.
So, I was out Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday – but only till a bit after 7:00 each night! Ha!
Saturday morning was meal prep for Ernie!

And, it was also hair day for Amy!

A new boutique opened next to my hair place and it’s cute!

I worked on cleaning the house and trip stuff and then I had a genius (I think!) idea – Tom and I split the salmon spinach salad from Malone’s and Jack got their sushi. Jack and I picked it up curbside. Winning!

I started this and it was mild enough I could sit outside for bit!

I’m loving it so far! I had to return my last book The Christmas Wager – because I was too slow. The library was sending me aggressive emails. Oh well. I pretty much know what’s going to happen.
The sun came out yesterday and I actually felt hot!

Ernie got a bath in his dog shower!

I got sprayed down, too, but with tan! It had been a really long time! Erica swears that getting a spray tan helps her seasonal affective disorder. She really, really hates winter and being cold. As much as I love summer, I enjoy cooler weather, too. I would rather be cold than hot!

Ok, blog business…I have two more posts coming your way this week and then I will be signing off for 2023!
Tell me the highlight of your weekend?
Amy
What a fun filled week!

I have never had a spray tan but like Erika, HATE, HATE, HATE the gray and cold. We left Ohio because I just couldn’t do it anymore. Down here Jan-Feb are tough better overall. I wonder if I would like a spray tan?
That is disappointing about your school party turn-out but thankful that you, as a seasoned teacher, were able to be there for the newer ones. It’s hard to be “new”, whether experienced or not, and then especially difficult when the staff doesn’t make it a priority to socialize outside of school. But I get it. . .very hard.
I’m jealous of all your time out-and-about. . .we don’t do that as much as I would like – ha!
Have a blessed week and enjoy every minute of getting ready for for your travel. It doesn’t have to be stressful!! I listened to a podcast the other day and the guest was saying that he only allows himself to be upset about something he can’t change for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes he puts it behind him and moves on. I am challenging myself to that 5-minute rule when I’m frustrated. I get 5 minutes to moan and complain to myself about my frustration and then, poof, no more. I’ve had my time. So, when anything other than JOY comes to you as you anticipate this (because, let’s face it, travel is stressful), just give yourself 5 minutes then move on and find the next best thing!!! Can’t control airline schedules, weather, accommodations, etc. . . you’ve done the best you can to plan, now ENJOY!!! TIS THE SEASON
Have a great day 🙂

I would say try a spray tan and it might trick you into thinking you got some sun! Ha! We have a chain called Sun Tan City and they might have a package for winter to save some money.
I just don’t have time to go right now, but did go this weekend. Ideally if I have a package, I like to go every 5 days or so.
I wish you had more to do as far as fun things in your town!
I love your advice about 5 min!
Thank you!

Wow you were busy! I’m sure getting ready for your trip makes everything feel extra hectic. We had a fun holiday party at our friends’, and everyone brought a board game for a white elephant exchange- great idea!
Have a great week!

Thank you! Yes, we were glad we went. It was far from school and the traffic on a Friday was horrible, but we both agreed we were glad we went. If your work does something nice, you should go!
Yes!!!!

I would rather be cold than hot too. I do like to use my self tanner all year but I keep my spray tans for warm weather when I am showing more skin.
I had kind of a rough weekend, we are having to say goodbye to our sweet Sophie today and I am destroyed. Ugh, so horrible.

I love Erica’s plaid top! Of course you all made the party fun! The pic of Ernie in the bath is too sweet. Spray tan is a great idea! Maybe I will get one over break 🙂

Thank you! What type do you use? I like going to Sun Tan City because it makes it more even and look more natural than I can do!

Our staff Christmas parties used to be well-attended, and then it sort of died down. No one ever drank! The shocked looks when I ordered a margarita! Oh, well, there always has to be someone, right?
My weekend? Hmmm…I wrapped some gifts (several left to do…why don’t I just get gift cards)…and, I think that’s about all I did. I just took a break from everything, including blogging and social media!
Have a wonderful week! Is school still in session this week? They are here.

Same with ours! Maybe it was due to the fact that we get out later and the fact that the venue was far away from our school. Scandalous – margarita! Ha!
Sometimes you do need to take a break! I am looking forward to that.
My school is in until Friday!

Despite needing to venture out this past weekend, I did not. I think I am ready for the holiday to just get here. Am I ready for it? No. Am I tired of thinking about what I need to get and do? YES. Saturday was windy and rainy so I talked myself out of going anywhere. I have hit that part where I’m just tired. We are traveling this year for Christmas so the couple of days off I have will not be completely relaxing. NYE/NYD is my jam. No big meals to plan, no gifts to buy, just me, my sweatpants and college football. After that, I start eating better and exercising (wink wink)
