Well, you all…it’s Monday again! Why does this keep happening? I am happy to link up with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday where we share what we did over the weekend.
Also, today makes one week and one day that I have not had a refrigerator! It’s not fun anymore and I no longer have a good attitude. Our new one is supposed to arrive on my birthday, so Tom knows what he is getting me. An added gift to me will be the job of restocking all the stuff.
Let’ s go back to Thursday night and my field hockey girls wanted me to see their region game. The weather was lovely as you can see by my photo.

Seriously, half of these are my girls! And, I taught 3 of their coaches! They won!
Friday after school Erica and I went to Boombozz.

I had an apple cider sangria and it was delish!

We had pretzel sticks and queso and we were starving because Erica’s lunch was so light. We had fish, corn on the cob, and green beans. We were like, “give us some carbs!”

I ordered salad and pizza to take home and then went walked over to buy a birthday gift I needed for the next night. Who is working smarter and not harder? This girl!

Jack, Tom, and I ate our pizza and salad and Jack and I watched an Outlander. We can’t get Tom on board!
Saturday morning I went out in the cool crisp morning for my coffee.

Then, it was hair day! I got new highlights and about an inch and a half off the bottom.

We had been trying for weeks to take our friends out on the boat and we finally arranged it for Saturday at noon. It was heading towards 70 degrees so it felt great with a sweater on. We stopped for lunch and this may have been our last ride of the season. I told Tom not to commit to winterizing quite yet!

We got home around 3 and I did these press ons that I have had for a while.

Then, it was time to celebrate my friend at dinner at Malone’s – a steakhouse. I love steakhouse sides so I ordered a potato and lobster mac and cheese for my meal and had some of the really good salad for the table.

Their chocolate cake is a show stopper! This provided over 6 slices!

We even got a photo with the guys. Why do Tom and I look so short? We also look like we were photoshopped in! But, Tom is smiling! He had his favorite salmon salad so maybe that’s why?

Jack had been at a friend’s house and got home a bit after us. He and I watched Outlander and I couldn’t keep my eyes open toward the end.
I was up bright and early Sunday morning to work on my to do list, my grocery list, and work on trip planning. I booked our lodging in two of our cities (the ones we are staying in the longest and the one where we will be from the 24th-27th) a few weeks ago and made reservations for a tour and three meals, and things are coming together. We are considering not going to London. If we do go it would be after Christmas and for only about 36 hours and one night’s stay. I am inclined to still do London, but Tom proposed just picking another place closer to the previous destination. Sorry I am being vague, but I am not sure if I want to share my itinerary before the trip. I will definitely share it after!
Pretty soon I will work on the other nights’ lodging and the train tickets. The train doesn’t run on Christmas or the day after which is Boxing Day so we knew we had to stay put from the 24th until the 27th.
I also have a Google Doc because of course I do! I enjoy the planning process and researching different locales, but I really have little to no time to work on it during the school week!
So, that’s about it for my weekend!
What about yours?
Amy
Another busy and fun weekend in the books! That picture is funny, I think it’s where you are standing – ha!! Your dinner look delicious.
I am so impressed that you enjoy planning your trips, I get so overwhelmed. Y’all are going to have such a great time!

It was a little too busy, but fun! It is! We didn’t scoot up enough! I do get overwhelmed, too, but I try to remember to plan only a couple things a day and then have a list of possibilities. I also haven’t done it in a long time and I have lost my planning muscle.
I hope so – a little anxious about traveling with adult children? oxymoron!

I’m glad you had such a great weekend! I know it’s fun to work on the travel planning part of your trip. The only reason I would do really think long and hard about London is because of when you’re going. I’d love to see it for Christmas! And when will you ever go back? I kind of think you’ll be mad at yourself later if you don’t visit while you’re so close.
I laughed over the photo comments of all of you at dinner. People placement for pictures is everything! 🤣

It was a little too busy, but I had to say yes to fun! I think you are right about London. I know we will also see a lot on the four hour train ride and that’s really nothing! My friends who have both recently been there that we had dinner with said that you can see the outside of all the major things in a few hours because they are so close – Big Ben, Tower, etc.
It really is – we look little!

I enjoy the whole process of planning trips too. The food pics from the steakhouse look so delicious! I have never tried press-on nails but I will have to as they always look the same as professionally done nails.

It’s complicated, but fun! Thank you – love their sides. You should try some press ons. The key is getting the short length and really taking the time to pick which size nail fits which finger. I am on day four and going strong with my set from Saturday.

It poured here again this weekend so we didn’t really do anything which suited me just find as I spent most of it in bed fighting off a nasty cold… that I have since passed onto my oldest (and is sure to make the rounds to everyone else soon). We’re still waiting on our oven part and I’m at the point where I don’t really even miss it anymore but I would be going CRAZY without a refrigerator. Hope yours comes in real soon!!

That is nice every once in a while. It gives you permission to really rest. I am so sorry. It’s going around here, too. I was honestly pretty ok with just my airfryer for 3 months last winter when we waited for an oven. The fridge is a different story! One more week – fingers crossed!

It looks like a great weekend, especially those pretzel sticks and baked potato…wow! Trip planning can be fun but also confusing/overwhelming! Are you flying in and out of London? If you are, then it would be easy to see lots of the highlights in one day, especially with a double decker bus tour. But I see your point about not going too. You could certainly add some things on to your other cities (highly recommend Sterling Castle near Edinburgh). I can’t wait to see what you plan!

Thank you!
No we are not flying in and out of London but rather Manchester. So, we have to be back up to Manchester for the flight home. I think it’s worth the 36 hours in London and maybe that’s all we would need at the holiday? What do you think?

Yes, you could definitely see a lot in 36 hours in London. Even though it would be kind of a hassle to get down there, it would be a shame to visit the UK without seeing it’s most famous city.

I think you’re right. Also, because it’s one night only I think we can splurge a bit on the accommodations and be in the thick of it. I have got to get train tickets and make that reservation!

Oh bummer about the refrigerator. I imagine that is not a fun wait. All the food for the weekend looks good! Even though plans are still in motion, I hope the planning of the trip is fun. That is half the fun to me, planning and the anticipation of a trip!

It was bound to happen soon. I do enjoy planning but wish I had a little more time, maybe? I also feel the weight of making everyone happy, you know?

Now, see I would be whining and moaning and groaning without a refrigerator…and eating out for everything! You have been such a good sport about it.
Now, I’m hungry for pretzel sticks because those look delicious! And, there’s a place not too far from us that has them…hmmmm?
I’m glad your trip is giving you so much fun beforehand. I like to plan a lot, too. Since I haven’t ever been to Manchester and know absolutely nothing about it, I don’t know what to say about London. One thing I would consider is how long does it take to get there and back. London is full of wonderful things. We spent ten days there the first time we went. We did go to Stonehenge and Windsor, though. I’m sure you’ll have a marvelous time whatever you decide.
We started painting the primary bedroom this weekend. My husband said, “But, it’s the weekend.” And, I replied, “It’s always the weekend for us.” We paint two walls at a time so we are halfway done with the third wall first coated. The last wall has the bed against it. It’s a king size Tempurpedic so it’s really heavy. I can’t wait to be done with it. Only two bathrooms, a bedroom, and the hallway to go!
Have a wonderful week, Amy!

The whining did start this weekend!
You should definitely try the pretzel sticks! I think Indy has a Boombozz?
I think we are going to go for it as far as London goes. I figure we will see a lot on the train ride, too.
Ugh – I hate painting but love the results.

This post has way too much delicious food! That’s good to know about trains on the 24th-27th for anyone traveling to the UK. Planning is half the fun and it’s great to get tips from others to keep handy.

Thank you! They run on the 24th, but stop on the 25th and 26th. I need to buy our tickets and work it out that we arrive in different places around the 3 pm check in time. It is! I have enjoyed reading other blogs about where we are going. It really helps!

Oh you have to do London! 36 hours will give you an energy blast! Because of a flight disaster this summer we spent 24 hours in New York, and it was fantastic!

Yes I think I’ve decided to go for it! Maybe can even splurge on lodging since only one night?

Exactly! And you don’t have to do anything extravagant, just walk around, visit Harrod’s, check out Big Ben – you know!
