I will be honest – that date is scaring me! It is almost mid-June! I am linking up with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday today.

Mason and I are the only coffee drinkers in the house and we are loving this:

I woke up Friday and enjoyed two cups of it and then went off to Trader Joe’s for the first time in a long time.

I love this candle and really need to go get more. I love the hot pink and the smell does not smell like salted caramel pistachio in my opinion, but it is a pleasing smell to my nose.

I also picked up this cute little guy!

I grabbed this little yellow flower to fill up my head planter.

I did an Old Navy return and then headed home and piddled around at home all day. I decided to do a 3 p.m. coffee while reading on the patio.

I finished The Party Crasher. It was not my favorite of Sophie Kinsella’s but it was cute. It was a bit far fetched, but I did like it.

At 6:00, I met my friend Victoria at the Greek Festival and spent a couple of hours with her.

Saturday morning was cool, but I started my day on the patio.

I cooked up some mushrooms and onions and some zucchini.

My kids went with me to a Buy Local Fair on the river where local businesses or home based businesses could set up a tent with their wares.

I came home with this cocktail mixer and I love it. It will be available at Paul’s Fruit Market in a week.

Later that afternoon, our friends met us and brought pizza for the boat.

It was a gorgeous night and we needed that.

Sunday morning I used my vegetables to make a vegetable egg scramble.

Tom and I did the Costco run together and we were happy to see their spinach salad back.

I like my lettuce chopped really small so I was taking out the spinach and tomatoes to chop. It comes with a really good poppyseed dressing. All of us had this for lunch!

Then, we went to our friends’ daughter’s graduation party.

The graduate’s dad and I have been friends since 2nd grade.

My mom had a special visitor. My sister Kate just got a new puppy named Ezra a few weeks ago.

After I brought my mom home from the hospital, Molly stayed for a couple of days and then Kate stayed for a couple of days. She seems to be back to normal but has a follow up with her primary care physician today. The doctor told us she needed about 48 hours of overnight supervision. She is actually going on a little trip tomorrow for a couple of days. It’s pretty amazing! I will see her after her little trip.

What did you do this weekend? We had wonderful early summer weather until we had some storms yesterday.

Thanks for reading!

Amy

  1. Looks like a great weekend! I am so happy your mom is doing so well – what a blessing! We went to Costco yesterday too – ugh – that place gives me major anxiety, it is so crowded. I love that hot pink candle from TJ’s!

    1. Thank you! I know – I was commenting to Tom that I had no idea where all these people came from and how they have this much money to come out with baskets loaded down!

    1. Thank you! Yes, he is! I will do some Ernie photos. He is a good and sweet boy and has been swimming in the river a lot! Aww, thank you. I try to have a healthy mix of lazy and fun. I am trying to be productive during the week now.

  3. I’m glad you had such a great weekend! Mine was very low key, but I never mind that. I didn’t feel great on Saturday, so the time I spent with my mom and sister was kind of a bust, because I had to call it an early day and go home. I read a lot, watched shows/movies/a couple documentaries, and I got some things done around the house. It’s super cool here today, so I’ll get out at some point and enjoy some of that while it lasts. I’m so glad your mom is doing well enough to take her trip!

    1. Thank you – still coming down from the mental and emtional exhaustion, to be honest. It was so cool here yesterday that I needed a blanket to sit outside.

  4. The weather was sunny but a bit windy but we enjoyed a lot of outdoor time at the cabin. I actually swam in the sea! Had to, dropped a padlock from the boat…!! 21-year-old came and stayed for the weekend and it was great to spend some time with her!
I have one more week of work and then Florida!

    1. Oh fun! I am so excited for you to get to Florida, though! Are you ready for some crazy heat? Did you leave a lot of clothes there with your mother in law? I feel like she has been going to Florida during the pandemic? Or does she live there full time? So many questions that I think you just need a blog!

      1. IF I start a blog you’ll be the first to know! 😀
Yes, MIL has not let herself be affected by the pandemic, but she has a green card and could therefor travel without a problem. As I recall it (it’s been four (4!) years) I have a lot of summer clothes in storage somewhere, but I wonder, you know with the heat and the humid air… We’ll see. I’m in for shopping anyway!
        Crazy heat? Bring it on!

      2. I better be! Good for her. I love that. It will be interesting to see if your clothes are still good. It will be like seeing old friends. I have a crazy idea! We should Facetime when you get to Florida! What do you think?

  5. Sounds like a great weekend. Yes, I think the Kona Coffeeshop is from hawaii. That salad looks delicious, and I agree about chopping the lettuce/spinach smaller! Have a good week!

  6. What a great weekend! The pot plant with the glasses is just the cutest! We had a Greek festival over here a couple of weeks ago but I couldn’t make it this year. We have been in the past and I always enjoy the Greek food and dancing so much. Opa!

  7. I agree that the weeks are just flying by! It’s scary! Your weekend looks great! Im still visiting my sons, and we went to SeaWorld on Friday. We have season passes and go often, but it was just too hot and humid! We get very heavy rain every afternoon with thunder and lightning; it’s that time of the year! I used to read Sophie Kinsella’s books years ago. I’m more into historical fiction and thrillers these days. I love candles, and I just got a good deal on some Yankee candles, honeydew melon and red raspberry. I’m glad your mom is doing well, and have a great week!!

    1. Very! Thank you! That sounds like fun, too. I hadn’t read a Sophie K in a long time. I haven’t been to Yankee in a long time! Thank you so much!
