Another week down! I didn’t have a great week for mostly reasons in my control. I wasn’t as productive as I would’ve liked, I let little things get me down, I didn’t get “ready” for the day like I should have. How was your week? I will be linking up with Andrea, etc. right here.

Mondays are the busiest and we started the week with a nice walk around noon. Tuesday and Wednesday were cold and rainy or just cold – sorry Ernie! But, we turned it around on Thursday and Friday.

I bought some pineapple juice and am working on creating a good cocktail involving it. This one needs some work still.

My mom sent these funny t-shirts to my boys. I guess we will look back and laugh? I’m not in that place yet!

I had told you I would cook on Cinco de mayo but I decided to order carry out at 4:45 before the rush. I also included a swirl margarita which is part margarita and part sangria!

One of my students sent me this below!

This popped up on my Facebook feed. I still remember this day.

This weekend I am going to try to go to a socially distant farmer’s market on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. This is the one on Sunday afternoon.

And, this is the one for Saturday morning.

How was your week?

What are your weekend plans?

Are you celebrating Mother’s Day?

  1. Isn’t it amazing how the start of your day can completely affect the mood and outcome later on? I hope you have a better week next week! Our week was pretty uneventful, but we will do something (not sure what) for mother’s day and Grace’s birthday is next week. So we will celebrate our new adult in the house! Hope you have a happy Mother’s Day!

    1. Yes! And the fact that I had a better week the week before and knew how to control it. I think I’m emotionally exhausted. Lol! I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day and so fun to have Grace’s bday! We are almost to the point where we can gather in groups of 10.

    1. Have you tried my margarita? It’s so good!
This swirl about put me under – it was sneaky strong! Highly recommend if you see one on a menu!
I’ve been meaning to ask you what Scott things about things opening up and what his perspective of the pandemic is now. Send me an email if you’d rather and if you have time!

  2. Had an uneventful week. I did buy some garden boxes and planted some tomatoes and jalapeños. No weekend plans, but I think I will see if our farmer’s markets are starting this weekend and maybe do that tomorrow! Looking forward to your drink recipe with pineapple juice!
    Have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

  3. I love those shirts your mom sent! It’s definitely a time they’ll never forget. I don’t drink alcohol but that swirl margarita looks delicious.

  4. I just found a super delicious cocktail with pineapple juice – you take Porter’s Fire (which is a cinnamon whiskey – you could maybe sub with Fireball, I haven’t tried that) and mix with pineapple juice – it tastes just like a delicious roasted pineapple – YUM! Happy Mother’s Day 🙂

    1. Oooh! I have Fireball! I haven’t used it since fall and my apple sangria.
What an idea! I bet you could also caramelize fresh pineapple as a garnish!

  5. We had a nice week over here, nothing new really. We’re trying to understand that we’re spending the whole summer in Sweden, so strange…! I’m so thankful for this little summer house that we have! We’re here right now, drinking a drink before dinner, a bit sore after a day of work in the garden. MIL was here for some hot dogs on the grill and we sat outside in the sun. I actually had shorts and t-shirt on, can you believe it!?
We don’t celebrare Mother’s Day until the last weekend of May and I look forward to breakfast (ok, coffee) in bed and maybe a little gift from the girls. Did the boys celebrate you!? I hope they did, you’re so worth it!

    1. I bet it is weird to not be preparing for your summer in Florida! You will get to see things that summer will bring to your little cabin. I recommend a nice anti gravity lounge chair and a hammock and really making it a summer oasis so you won’t feel that you are missing out!
Mother’s Day is tomorrow so nothing yet. I picked out plants this morning and I’m already enjoying them. I bought hot dogs in my shopping order. They make me think of summer. It’s funny how content I am at home now. I am trying not to do any work this weekend. Have a great rest of yours!
