Hi there! How are you? Let’s talk fashion with Kellyann and Jill today.

First, let me update you from last week’s Fashion Files.

Chico’s tanks – I mentioned last week that I was looking for black and white tanks to wear with an open button up or my one and only kimono I kept. The Chico’s tanks were great quality but they were not the looser, flowy, body skimming type I was looking for. I also thought they would be hot. So, the good news is that I saw some at my consignment store that I can now try on since I know these didn’t work. I also can try Amazon Essentials brand since I have been happy with those in the past I returned them promptly and got my $55 back. Please – if you order things online keep up with your returns because there are so many people who waste money that way.

Old Navy order

I ordered this blouse in two sizes and the material is tragic. Synthetic, weirdly shaped, and bad, bad, bad and so bad you aren’t going to even see a photo of me trying it on. I promptly returned the three colors with two sizes each to my local store. Again, do the returns!

Girl Math = I made $120 on my returns! He, he.

What I wear to a pool

I only have one dedicated coverup now and it was recommended to me by Jenn last season and she has it in hot pink (and maybe another color?). I sometimes wear a light dress or a button up as a coverup, but I usually just wear this white dress. My sister gave me this Bogg bag she didn’t want. I have two of the exact same one piece swimsuits from Time and True Walmart with flutter sleeves.

I really like this outfit for those really hot days. I wore this Sunday to go to Costco and a couple places with Tom.

I had a TJ Maxx shopping spree the other day. I got this orange and white blouse for $13:

This fruity blouse for $13 and I wore it to the dentist:

And this denim blouse for $19:

I wore this to a happy hour at a neighbor’s house this week:

My friend’s daughter is getting married in a little over a week. I found this dress a few weeks ago at one of my consignment stores and thought it might work. It is a boutique brand called “She and Sky” and it was marked off additionally so I scored it for $12. I thought it would work for the wedding. You can adjust and make it more or less off the shoulder.

Since the dress is a solid, I wanted a fun shoe. Here is what I am waiting on to see if it works – the bottom floral design:

I hope it works and is comfortable enough. I scored them on major sale for about $44.

Let’s end with a little talk about adding some color to your skin…

I dropped my Sun Tan City membership or put it on freeze for now. I finally bought a tanning mitt and it is a game changer. I don’t think the brand matters.

Loving Tan is so good. I got medium and the bottle lasts a long, long time. I checked Amazon and I got mine exactly a year ago. It is a mousse that is tinted brown so you can see where it’s going. I put a very small amount on the mitt and only do my arms, legs, and décolleté. It dries very quickly, has no smell, and develops in 2 hours. It is great if you have an event or something and want a bit of color.

After two hours:

Oh to have unblemished legs again…

What has your fashion been like this week?

Amy

  1. I look at my spotty skin an curse 20 year old Kellyann for laying in tanning beds! Anyway…

I am excited about those shoes! I think they will be so much fun with that dress for the wedding. Too bad about the Chico’s tanks but I am glad you returned them and the Old Navy top.

Halaras are so darn good on you, Amy! Anytime you wear them I hope you feel as fab as you look!

  2. I’ll be excited to see that dress on you for a wedding! I’m looking at an off-the-shoulder top at the moment; I can’t decide on it, but I can always make the return. Speaking of that, I’m shocked that people don’t make returns! It’s expensive and wasteful if you don’t; this is something I’m good at doing. I love your outfits this week! Those shoes are LIFE. I hope they work for you!

  3. I am the WORST at returns! I completely stopped ordering clothes online as I am hard to fit but most retailers no longer carry petite sizes so have been ordering some lately – and I already missed the return window on a pair of pact gauze pants! 😦 I also am consumed by guilt when I don’t return something. Working on it! I am going to Italy next week and have a favorite consignment shop in Rome so am hoping for some success there.

I saw a cute skirt at Halara but am unsure about the fabric – any insight? I love a modal but it has to be more jersey than synthetic, if that makes sense.

  4. I sure hope those cute little shoes workout, because wow, they would be perfect with that dress! I love your striped shorts outfit. I have been wearing tops I haven’t worn but once or not this season all week long. It helps me decide if they are still to my liking. I think one simple top might go bye bye, but still not sure.

  5. That fruit shirt is so fun! I think you’ll get a lot of compliments on it. I love those shoes…they will be attention grabbers, for sure. I keep up on my returns, and it’s also important to check to see what the return window is. Banana Republic is now 30 days so I’m guessing Old Navy is, too. I haven’t ever used a self-tanner. I just have a farmer tan from my shorts!

  6. Love the denim blouse! So – my mom has a blouse with fruit on it and she’s had it for years …like 30+ & it’s a core memory from my childhood 🤣 whenever I visit and I’m in her bathroom, I see it in the closet and always laugh at the memory.
The pink dress for the wedding is such a great color. Love the heels! I used the Jergens tan when needed and I love that it’s gradual and I use a mitt too. The shop I love (SSYS) – they always talk about how they use loving tan 🙂

  7. It’s shocking how many don’t keep up with returns!

I admit, I bought a swimsuit top at Old Navy online this spring, it fit but I didn’t love it. I was waaaaay too lazy to drive 45 minutes to get $12 back, let alone pay for shipping. Kept it. I wear it now and it’s good enough. That’s my one and only return fail lately.

  8. I can’t wait to see what those shoes look like with that dress – such a beautiful combination! Keeping my fingers crossed that they are comfortable for you! And such good advice – return promptly! I’ve been bitten a few too many times and so has my pocketbook!
