How was your weekend? I am linking up with Sarah and Holly to share mine!
After letting my nails breathe for a few days (6?), I put on this fun florescent yellow.

It looks dull yellow in this photo, but it’s really bright in different lighting!
Mason and I hadn’t done a coffee shop in a long time so I suggested we start out Friday doing that. He was free and I was free so it worked out.

After that we went to Barnes and Noble book store and then we went home. I was so hot and ready to be in the AC. I gave Eddie Otis a frozen carrot because I figured he was hot, too. He wants you to participate just like he wants you to participate in bone chewing. He is a sharing boy.

Has everyone been enjoying the Coldplay concert news?

I hate that there are victims involved. It’s easy to laugh at all the memes, but there are people who didn’t ask to have their lives put on display. The one about Coldplay just came out with four new singles -uh, yeah.
Friday night we stayed home for dinner and ate leftovers. I have got to get my fridge to a more functional state. It has been packed and hard to manage.
Saturday Tom went out of town for the day so I was with Eddie Otis most of the day except for a trip to drop off donations and to browse this cute little boutique and

Mason takes a piano lesson on Saturdays after playing basketball with his college roommate at a park (such a cute Saturday routine) and then we met for a little lunch after the lesson in this strip mall where both the music store and the boutique are located. That sounded really confusing. Anyway, we ate at this little place.
Please note the sky:

I went home and napped with little EO snoring on the floor beside me until it started storming something fierce. It was the loudest thunder I had heard in a long time. EO wasn’t nervous at all. Whew!
Tom returned home and EO couldn’t get close enough to him!

We ate at home again and then went to a free jazz show at a distillery where one of the musicians was a college professor of Jack’s.

We only stayed out about an hour but it was good to get out.
Sunday morning I had to go to Trader Joe’s because I have decided I can’t live without my brown sugar oat creamer. I also made people at the cabin in Michigan fall in love with it – especially a teenager named Ellie! She is my cousin’s daughter.

It was muy, muy hot out but we had plans to go out on the boat with our friends. If we kept moving it felt fine. We stopped to eat and I sweated something fierce.

What was the highlight of your weekend?
Amy
I love that nail colour and what a great idea to give Eddie Otis a frozen carrot as a treat.Oh yes, the Coldplay thing was all over the news here. I do feel sad for the victims involved but there has been some funny memes.Out sky has looked the same over the past few days and it’s cloudy and looking like rain again now. We had thunder yesterday, I hate it. It’s great EO wasn’t bothered by it.

That sounds like a lovely but hot weekend. Ours was pretty mild; which was good since we had a birthday party to attend on Saturday. It was lots of fun and I actually found myself wanting a sweatshirt by the time we left.

That photo of EO with Tom is so sweet!
Apparently I was living under a rock last week and had no idea about the whole Cold Play thing. Lisa mentioned it to me and I was clueless! The whole situation is such a shame but man, what a way to get caught!
We had such a low key weekend and did pretty much nothing! It was wonderful!

Fun weekend! I love that you and Mason do your coffee/lunch dates. I try to get one on one time with any of mine as often as I can! It’s my favorite. I would say the highlight of my weekend was being on the beach. I loved the swimming that I did deep in the water and was so proud of myself for, the seafood, the laughter, the gorgeous views, napping by the ocean with music playing between us…I could go on. Vitamin sea is definitely therapy in and of itself. Meanwhile, my sister back in Denver was planning our next trip…stay tuned! I have a fall break trip coming up!

Sounds like a great way to spend a HOT weekend. My husband is a (little) frustrated that we haven’t spent more time on the boat this summer, but it is 2 hours away and our weekends have been FULL.
My highlight was that our oldest son got engaged!!! It’s our first engagement in the family so lots of happy phone calls and smiles and pictures 🙂
How does it feel to be this close to the end of July and not be thinking about another school year??? Looking forward to hearing more about your podcast!

That makes it hard!
Congrats!
It feels weird! I’m not going to lie/I alternate between being so happy and feeling anchorless.
I am excited, too!

I’ve never given my dog a frozen carrot but am going to try that. We had a super hot weekend here too and Sunday afternoon were in the lake for hours. Looks like you had some fun outings too. What water do you boat? Is it the Ohio river? I’m sure you’re happy not to be planning your school year, but I also know seeing everyone going back can give you some feels too. Enjoy your week!

It’s supposed to be good for them. Let us know if he liked it! I love that you can be in the lake! Is it a pretty clean lake?
It is the Ohio.
I am feeling a bit adrift/anchorless right now. I think I am still in my feels about my life changes. I am also feeling for all the many teachers in my life getting ready to go back. You too!

So sweet that you all keep up with your mother/son coffee dates! Love the pic of you and Tom. Your boat day sounds lovely even if it was hot. We were in Louisville for the wedding — and dodged raindrops!

I feel like it’s a better winter activity, but I am not going to say no when he wants to go! Thank you! It turned out ok when we were moving!
You have had the Lou wedding season. We have one in August.
You all look so nice and got nice family photos.

I love the nails!
Tom’s expression never fails to make me laugh when you insist on a photo.
My fridge was a disaster last week and I’m slowly getting it under control. My pantry still isn’t close to organized though.

Thank you! It’s making me happy to see such a bright color.
I post pictures of him now for my own enjoyment. I am going to catch him in a candid real smile one of these days. He hates to perform/smile on command. He is a lot.
It’s hard to keep it under control. I am over Tom bringing lunch leftovers home. Order less/stop saving your food that you aren’t eating. Sometimes a kid will eat it but by Friday we might have four boxes in there and they take up lots of space.

Birthday weekend for my husband and I, so we were much busier than usual. I love your boat pictures this time of year. I also love that you spend so much time with your 20 somethings. I’m in that sort of panic stage of having high school Senior this year…ha.

Happy bday! Thank you! I spend more time with one of them than the other because he wants to and does less social things with friends. He is outgrowing some of his old high school friends.
I get that – it’s better than you think. And, you might butt heads a lot this year but your relationship will improve after high school.

My granddaughter who is 16 told me Trader Joe’s is her favorite store! She’s definitely an old soul. I have only been in one a handful of times…always in Chicago when we’re looking for something to munch on to take back to the room. I really need to just go shopping at one. I went into a boutique last week that sold Umgee and thought of you, but we were shopping for said granddaughter. Love the photo of EO. I saw the Cold Play thing and wasn’t sure what it was for a long time. Then, I read about the CEO being upset about his privacy which led me down a rabbit hole. I do feel really badly for the families both people didn’t think about. I need a new pedicure but don’t know what color I want.

You should go together! That would be fun! I really like Umgee! It’s good quality and fits me well.
Just go with a color that speaks to you or look up pedicures on Pinterest and see what you like.

What a pretty nail color! Sounds like you had a great weekend. Ours was quiet but that’s always okay with me.
We are headed out onto our boat very soon. The temps have cooled down and the humidity is gone.
I am glad I found you through the linky party Talk About it Tuesday.
Enjoy your week!
